        Van der Waals Correlation between Two 4He Monolayers on the Opposite Sides of Graphene

        Path-integral Monte Carlo calculations have been performed to study the correlation between two 4He monolayers adsorbed on opposite sides of a graphene sheet. Here, the 4He-substrate interaction is described by the pairwise sum of the 4He-C interatomic potentials. We employ two different anisotropic 4He-C pair potentials proposed to fit the helium scattering data on a graphite surface, namely, a 6-12 Lennard-Jones potential and a Yukawa-6 potential. With the Lennard- Jones substrate potential, we do not observe any noticeable correlation between two oppositeside 4He monolayers, which is consistent with the prediction of the previous theoretical studies based on the same substrate potential. When the Yukawa-6 substrate potential is used, however, two incommensurate triangular solids, which are realized at the first-layer completion density of 0.12 °A−2, are found to favor an AA stacking order, two triangular lattices on top of each other, over an AB stacking. Finally, the effects of this interlayer correlation on the formation of stable mobile vacancies are discussed.

      • 근대국어 "-어 가다" 구성에 대하여

        본고는 근대국어를 대상으로 ``-어 가다`` 구성을 합성어 구성, 접속 구성, 보조용언 구성으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 합성어, 접속의 ``-어 가다`` 구성의 경우 ``가다``가 구체적 장소 이동의 의미로 쓰이는 것으로 보았고 보조용언의 ``-어 가다`` 구성은 ``가다``가 추상적 의미, 즉 ``진행``의 의미로 쓰이는 것으로 보았다. 합성어의 ``-어 가다`` 구성의 경우 중세국어에서 합성어 구성으로 본 형태가 근대국어에서도 합성어 구성에 주로 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 접속의 ``-어 가다`` 구성의 경우 중세국어와 마찬가지로 가장 많은 용언이 연결되어 나타났는데 자동사보다 타동사가 상대적으로 많이 연결되어 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다. 보조용언의 ``-어 가다`` 구성은 중세국어와 마찬가지로 타동사보다 자동사가 주로 연결되어 나타났다. 결국 ``-어 가다`` 구성의 경우 중세국어와 근대국어에서 큰 차이를 보이지 않고 비슷한 양상을 보인다고 할 수 있다. 이러한 결과는 현대국어에서 ``-어 가다`` 구성이 보이는 특징과 거리가 있는 것이다. 현대국어의 경우 ``-어 가다`` 구성이 주로 ``미완료``의 의미를 보이는 데 비해 중세국어와 근대국어에서는 ``미완료`` 즉 ``진행``의 의미를 보이는 보조용언의 ``-어 가다`` 구성이 합성어 구성이나 접속 구성에 비해 상대적으로 적었기 때문이다. 중세국어에서 근대국어를 거쳐 현대국어에 이르는 통사적 변화를 생각한다면 근대국어에서 중세국어와 현대국어 사이에 나타날 수 있는 과도기적인 결과를 기대할 수 있는데 본고에서는 그런 점을 파악하지 못했다. 하지만 중세국어와 근대국어가 비슷한 양상을 보인다고 해도 ``-어 가다`` 구성에 연결되는 동사들이 중세국어와 근대국어에서 약간 차이를 보여 이를 통해 ``-어 가다`` 구성의 통시적 변화 양상을 조금은 추정할 수 있었다. This paper is the historical study of the ``-eo gada`` constructions based on Modern Korean data. The ``-eo gada`` constructions was divided into compound verbs construction, conjunctive construction and auxiliary verb construction. The ``gada`` in ``-eo gada`` constructions of compound verbs and conjunctive was considered to meaning of move to specific places and the ``gada`` in ``-eo gada`` constructions of auxiliary verb was considered to abstract meaning, in other words, the meaning of progressive. The ``-eo gada`` constructions of compound verbs in Modern Korean mainly appeared similar to the ``-eo gada`` constructions of compound verbs in Middle Korean. The ``-eo gada`` constructions of conjunctive in Modern Korean were the most verbs connected as with the ``-eo gada`` constructions of conjunctive in Middle Korean, and transitive than intransitive were relatively more connected. The ``-eo gada`` constructions of auxiliary verb in Modern Korean were intransitive connected than transitive as with the ``-eo gada`` constructions of auxiliary verb in Middle Korean. Finally, the ``-eo gada`` constructions of Modern Korean showed a similar pattern to the ``-eo gada`` constructions of Middle Korean. This differs from the characteristics of the Present Korean. The most ``-eo gada`` constructions of the Present Korean are considered to meaning of progressive as auxiliary verb construction. Through the study, we did not find significant differences between the ``-eo gada`` constructions of Middle Korean and the ``-eo gada`` constructions of Modern Korean. But we could find small differences between the ``-eo gada`` constructions of Middle Korean and the ``-eo gada`` constructions of Modern Korean.

        ‘-고 가다’ 구성의 통시적 변화에 대하여

        Kwon, Yong-kyeong. 2004. A Historical study of the pattern -ko kata. Morphology 6.2, 317-337. This article explores the process of historical change in the pattern -ko kata, a pattern used to express concurrent movement in contemporary Korean. While some articles have argued for the absence of this structure in Late Middle and Early Modern Korean, this study demonstrates that although few examples can be found in Late Middle Korean, examples of the pattern in -ko kat' are attested in 16th-century Korean. Furthermore, this article argues that the frequency of this form has actually increased in modern Korean, whereas the pattern in '-e kata' that was used frequently in Late Middle Korean has gradually decreased in usage.(Kanda Unversity, Japan). 본고는 ‘-고 가다’ 구성의 통시적 변화 과정에 대해 살펴보았다. 현대국어에 나타나는 ‘동시 진행’의 ‘-고 가다’ 구성이 중세국어에서는 나타나지 않는다는 것이 여러 논문에서 지적되었는데, 본고에서는 ‘동시 진행’의 ‘-고 가다’ 구성이 나타나는 양상을 중세국어와 근대국어 자료에서 고찰하였다. 중세국어 자료에서 ‘동시 진행’의 ‘-고 가다’ 구성은 거의 볼 수 없었지만, 16세기 자료에서 몇몇 예를 찾을 수 있었다. 근대국어 자료에서는 ‘동시 진행’의 ‘-고 가다’ 구성이 점점 증가하는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 이에 비해 중세국어에서 생산적으로 쓰이던 ‘-어 가다’ 구성이 점점 사라지는 것도 확인할 수 있었다.

        It is important to foster knowledge based industry and create new industry in order to vitalize local economy and develop regions. For this, innovation of technology and development of cutting-edge industry should be effectively accomplished through building a close relationship with regional innovation institutions including industrial, academic, research and administrative institutions. In this context, The role and importance of technoparks as a centers to build regional innovation system and induce connection and cooperation between regional innovation institutions are increasing. Therefore, it is necessary to review roles and problems of technoparks in developing regional economy in order for technology innovation network to be well constructed and promoted and check whether original intended use of a tech park has been satisfied. In addition, the direction of promoting technoparks in order to develope regional economy and strengthen competitiveness of local society should be presented by investigating effects of technoparks on regional economy and high-tech industry. The purposes of this study are to identify current promotion status and major outcomes of technoparks, focusing on the six objectives, predict effects of technoparks on regional economy and local high-tech industry using the multiregional input-output model and investigate industrial relationship with other regions. According to the result, the Gyeongbuk Technopark has ripple effects on Gyeongbuk, Daegu and other regional economy and positive effects on Gross Geographic Product and local employment. In addition, it is investigated that the effects of the Gyeongbuk Technopark on the industries which are corresponding with the core business of the technoparks are higher than those on other industries.

      • Low-Density Phases in the Two-Dimensional Electron Gas

        Accurate diffusion Monte Carlo technique within the fixed-node approximation has been used to determine the equation of state of the two-dimensional electron gas in three phases: the normal paramagnetic liquid, the ferromagnetic (spin-polarized) liquid, and the Wigner crystal. Our backflow fixed-node calculation, which is a significant improvement over two previous conflicting Slater-Jastrow calculations, shows that there is only one clear phase transition from the paramagnetic liquid to the Wigner crystal as the density decreases. Unlike the three-dimensional case, we do not see the stability of the polarized liquid phase at intermediate densities before the crystallization.

        4He adsorption on a single C40 molecule: Path integral Monte Carlo study

        Path-integral Monte Carlo calculations are performed to study the adsorption of 4He atoms on two different isomers of C40: one with the D2 symmetry and the other with the D5d symmetry. Here, we employ the 4He-C40 interaction described by the sum of 4He-C interatomic pair potentials, which allows us to examine the 4He corrugations on the fullerene molecular surfaces. We first observe the layer-by-layer growth of 4He on both C40 isomers, where the first layers are located at a distance of ~ 5.7 Å from the molecular centers. From the investigation of the angular 4He density profiles, we find that the 4He layers display different quantum states depending on the number of 4He adatoms N. Between N = 22 and N = 40, the first 4He layer on the D2 isomer shows several different commensurate structures whereas the corresponding 4He layer on D5d undergoes a commensurate-to-incommensurate solid transition like the first 4He layer on graphite. As N increases, the superfluid responses of the first 4He layers on both isomers exhibit reentrant behavior with superfluidity being completely quenched at structurally-ordered states. In addition, the superfluid fraction of the first 4He layer is found to be about three times as large on D2 as on D5d for the same number of 4He atoms. The different structural and superfluid properties of 4He adatoms depending on the isomeric type could provide an experimental way of selecting a specific C40 isomer.
