The Main objective of the study is to find out the basic running condition of KNR EMUs since the results can be useful in designing new EMUs. We had investigated the average annual mileages and decrepit levels. After that, we performed stress analysis for the carbody when uniformly distributed vertical loads due to the weight of the car body and passengers were applied to the underframes, in order to find out the most critical sections of the underframes and the effect of corrosion on the underframe strength.. Upon performing stress analysis, we carried out running tests of EMUs on the conventional line to measure dynamic stresses applied to the underframes.

The contact and messenger wire is important parts in the electric power system of the railroad. There are so many measurement method like voltage, current, scratch of surface, and glow longer of length. In this paper suggest real time monitering system of messenger wire so called RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) and this system includes CDMA module to transfer real time or saved data of memory to the end user directly who is in the long distance. The hyper terminal program of windows shows the downloaded data from RTU through CDMA communication and this data can be transferred to excel sheet easily.

The spot weld between the side panel and the side-sil of electric multiple unit(EMU) underframe could be detached as the time go on due to the corrosion at the side panel. For this reason, it is necessary to check the structural strength of car-body considering the detachment of spot welds. For this reason, we develop a finite element model of car body of typical EMU by comparing the deflections obtained from the 3 point load test and FE analysis. And then we simulate the detachment between the side panel and side-sil by detaching the nodes in the FE model. We calculate the structural strength of car-body by 3D finite element analysis. The analysis results show that the detachment of spot weld seems to give very small affect the deformation at side-sil which is the one of very important design parameters of car-body. Base on the analysis results, we conclude that the detachment of spot weld may not deteriorate the whole strength of car-body.
자기부상시스템의 2-DOF 구조를 이용한 제어기 설계에 관한 연구

This study deals with the problem of balance beam system to stabilize about static and sinusoidal disturbance. wherein the design objectives are to keep the gap deviation from static and sinusoidal disturbance. In this paper propose the 2-Degree of Freedom(DOF) structure and a simple first-order controller which is designed by Characteristic ratio assignment (CRA) method. Matlab simulation result verify stabilization of balance beam system despite of disturbance. Hybrid simulation between digital controller and analog plant is presented by Matlab Simulink.
트라이볼로지 관점에서 철도차량의 경량 제동 디스크와 라이닝의 특성 평가

The brake disc materials for railway vehicle have been mainly used cast-iron. The brake disc and pad should be light, resist to a thermal crack and absorb enough friction energy. In order to satisfy this requirement, aluminum alloy brake disc for railway vehicle has been newly developed. The aluminum itself has not been considered the friction material for railway vehicle. However, in the case of aluminum composite with dispersed ceramic particles, friction characteristics, resistance to wear and heat are much improved. In the present study, aluminum composite brake disc of 20% ceramic particle and three kinds of organic pads have been tested in dynamometer. The results show that Al MMC brake disc and pad have good friction coefficient and wear rate, and thermal cracks in brake disc have not been initiated. Also, the Al MMC brake disc can be applied to railway vehicle of 150 ㎞/h.
