This experiment was carried out to estimate the degree of stalk lodging of hybrid maize with multi-tillers and to obtain the basic information for the development of lodging- resistant hybrids with tillers. The materials used were composed of five tillering hybrids and one non-tillering hybrid P3160. P3160 was used as check hybrid. Plant and ear height of the hybrids with tillers were higher than those of P3160 hybrid, especially under the high plant density compared to low plant density. But length, diameter and dry matter of the 3rd internode and crushing strength of tillering hybrids were simlar to those of P3160. Rind thickness of tillering hybrids was significantly higher than that of P3160. In variance analysis all of these characters were significantly different among hybrids. But crushing strength and lodging showed significant interaction between hybrids and plant densities. Correlation coefficients between 3rd internode length and lodging were positively significant regardless of plant densities. Diameter and dry matter of the 3rd internode, ear weigth of main stem, rind thickness and crushing strength were negatively correlated with lodging regardless of plant densities. Correlation coefficients for hybrids with tillers were positively significant among characters including 3rd internode length and lodging, but plant and ear heigths appeared to be not associated with lodging.

IK4 inbred line is one of the few maize inbreds developed by authors based on the number of tillers per plant. The objectives of the study were to characterize the IK4 inbred itself and to determine the characteristics of the line when it was crossed with other tillering inbred lines. The IK4 inbred showed tillers taller than the main stem at maturity. Tillering habits of IK4 were showed also in some of the F₁ hybrids. Tillers taller than main stem at maturity assumed to be very effective for increasing kernel yield as well as silage production of tillering maize hybrids.

In Korea, livestock has grown into the most value-added business in the agricultural and forest industry. But due to the recent outbreak of deadly infectious diseases such as foot-and-mount disease and avian influenza (AI), the demand for IT-enabled cutting-edge management system is getting stronger. As for humans, pilot projects and researches concerning U-healthcare have been carried out since early 2000. So this study explored the current progress of U-healthcare introduction, and suggested the strategies to develop technologies of collecting, processing, and utilizing information; to apply elements for a service model development and prioritization; to provide policy and institutional support. Therefore it is expected to vitalize the livestock U-healthcare in the future through continuous study based on these results.

Although the livestock excretion is a significant resource in providing nutrients to the crops as it is recycled, it has been perceived as the cause of environmental pollutions for its inappropriate treatment and quality control issues. The study is aimed to develop an integrated management system for efficient management of livestock excretion using the Ubiquitous technology, and the user requirements are analyzed for development of such system. As the result of analysis on the requirements, it has been proved that such system is perceived to be necessary and the demand for several main functions can be seen as well.

The purposes of this research are to estimate area of greenable roof and to monitor maintaining of green roofs using World-View 2 images. The contents of this research are development of World-View 2 application technologies for estimation of green roof area and development of monitoring and maintaining of green roofs using World-View 2 images. The available green roof areas in Gwangjin-gu Seoul, a case for this study, were estimated using digital maps and World-View 2 images. The available green roof area is approximately 12.17% (2,153,700㎡) of the total area, and the roof vegetation accounts for 0.46% (80,660㎡) of the total area. For verification of the extracted roof vegetation, Vworld 3D Desktop map service was applied. The study results may be used as a decision-making tool by the government and local governments in determining the feasibility of green roof projects. In addition, the project implementer may periodically monitor to see whether roof greening has maintained for efficient management of projects, and a vast amount of World-View 2 images may be regularly used before and after the projects to contribute to sharing of satellite images information.

It is very important, if necessary, to remotely monitor and control the body conditions and behavior of livestock as well as the environment of stall using ubiquitous ict, in order to improve the health and productivity of livestock. With the aim of developing a stall management system, this study investigated users' needs, analyzed them to design systems, developed a web-system and an app for stall management, then applied them to a test-bed. The use of the app developed will make it easy for livestock farmers to easily monitor and control environment of stall using their smartphones and allow them to take care of stall more efficiently.
