In the standard specifications for the urban EMU(Electric Multiple Unit) train, there are several items to ensure safety against accidents. The 21th -23th items have much relation with the crashworthiness of the urban EMU train. In this study, the rubber tired AGT(Automated Guide-way Transit System) under development by KRRI is numerically evaluated in a crashworthy point of view by applying the above crashworthiness items. The numerical results show the detail design of the AGT satisfies the 22th and 23th items. But the design is recommended to adopt mechanical fuses to reduce the impact accelerations with respect to the 21th item.

Described in this paper is the result of a study on collision analysis of TGV-K using 1-dimensional model for crashworthy design. Crashworthy design of the front end is very important because majority of the impact energy(more than 70%) is absorbed by the crush of the front end when the train is collided with an obstacle like a tank lorry. Guideline for the crashworthy design can be described from the collision analysis of the whole train using a 1-dimensional model. Since the headstock of TGV-K is not designed in a crashworthy point of view, a conceptual design of the headstock to improve crashworthiness is suggested and evaluated using 1-dimensional collision analysis. The suggested design, which adopts an energy absorber and a crashworthy headstock, shows a good behaviour on the accident scenario of SNCF(collision at 110 km/h against a movable rigid mass of 15 ton).

As Rolling stocks, which are composed of heavy units, run along predefined tracks at relatively high speeds, it is impossible to stop shortly without accidents using emergency braking in case a person stay on the track. Therefore train-to-human collision accidents over 200 cases occurs every year and the tolls suffer very serious damage. To consider some countermeasures to reduce injury at train-to-human collision accidents, the concerning statical data were analysed to investigate human injury severity for accident patterns and collision speeds. Based on these statistical data analyses, some standard scenarios for train-to-human collision accidents were derived to cover about 75% of the fatal accidents.
유한요소해석을 이용한 철도차량 시트프레임의 정적 강도 평가에 관한 연구

In this paper, the structural strengths of a rolling stock seat were numerically evaluated under several design load conditions based on the UIC requirements. The rolling stock seat was designed for the high speed train of a Chinese conventional line. To maximize its weight reduction and structural strength, some aluminium alloys like 6NO1-T5 and ALDC8-T5 were applied to the base frame, side frame and armrest. The designed seat frame satisfied the strength requirements on inertia loads due to accelerations, and fatigue test conditions. However, it violated the requirements on the static test of UIC 566 OR. Some design modifications were suggested and numerically evaluated to satisfy the static test requirements.

The best method to evaluate crashworthiness of a trainset as a whole is to analyse one dimensional dynamic model composed of nonlinear dampers, springs and bars, and masses. In this study, crashworthiness of KHST was evaluated by analysing a nonlinear spring/bar-damper-mass model. The numerical results show that the KHST can easily absorb kinetic energy at lower impact force and acceleration in a heavy collision, when compared with KTX. Also, the KHST can be protected from any damage in its carbody and components except the prepared energy absorbing tube in a light collision, like a traint-to-train accident at speed under 8 kph. However, the KTX can be much damaged in the a light collision because there is no energy absorbing tube.
동력분산형 고속전철의 충돌안전도 해석 및 평가기술 연구

In this study, the crashworthy design guidelines for the high speed EMU were derived and numerically evaluated. As for this high speed train, there are several different features from the KTX in that the conventional type bogies are adopted and the front end car (TC car) accommodates passengers. It is natural that the impact acceleration of the front end car should be controlled under the appropriate level stipulated at safety regulations for collision accidents. Also, car-to-car interfacing structures and devices should be deliberately designed to prevent overriding and telescoping mechanisms. As the first step for these design countermeasures, it was studied that how much impact energy should be absorbed at the energy absorbing zones and devices of each carbody to satisfy the impact acceleration regulations of the safety regulations. These results will be used as the crashworthy design guidelines for the high speed train in the next year research.
쉘형 차체 구조의 소재대체 개념설계에 대한 경량화 예측 기법

In this paper is studied a theoretical approach to predict structural performances and weight reduction rates of a car-body with shell type sections in case that its materials have to be substituted. For the material substitution design of a car-body, bending, axial and twisting deformations are considered under constant stiffness and strength conditions, which utilize some new indices derived from a structural performance point of view. The developed indices to measure the weight reduction by the material substitution give good guidelines on conceptual design of car-bodies.

One of the best methods to evaluate crashworthiness of a full rake trainset is to analyse 1-dimensional dynamic model using dampers, nonlinear springs and bars, and masses. In this study, the crashworthiness of KHST has been evaluated by analysing a nonlinear dynamic model made up of springs/ bars-dampers-masses. The numerical results show that the KHST can absorb more kinetic energy at lower impact forces and lower accelerations in case of heavy collisions, if compared with KTX. Also, the KHST can be protected from any damage in its car-body and electric components except the energy absorbing tube in case of light collisions, like train-to-train accidents at speed under 8 kph. On the other hand, the KTX may be more damaged in the light collisions because there is no energy absorbing tube.
47,XYY,inv(9) (p11;q13)으로 산전진단된 태아의 정상분만 1례

35세 경임부가 임신 16주 2일에 산전진단의 선별검사로 삼중검사를 받았다. 모체혈청 알파태아단백과 융모성 성선자극호르몬은 상승되었고, 반면 비포합형 에스트리올은 저하되었다. 그래서 양수 염색체검사를 실시한 결과 47,XYY,inv(9) (p11;q13)의 핵형을 보였다. 47,XYY 남성은 양수천자 1000명당 1명 정도 발견된다. 이 증후군의 대다수는 정상의 표현형을 보이며 대체로 키가 크고 약간의 정신발육지체를 보인다. 9번 염색체 p11에서 q13에 이르는 중심 주위의 역위는 본인은 정상적인 표현형을 보이나 염색체 이상의 자녀를 갖게 될 가능성이 많다. 저자들은 부모와 유전상담하였으나 분만하기를 원하여 외형상으로 정상의 표현형을 보이는 태아를 만삭 질식분만 하였기에 간단한 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. A 35-year-old multigravida woman received triple marker screening tests in 16weeks 2days of gestation. MSAFP and MShCG values were increased, whereas MSuE3 value was decreased. So we performed amniocentesis for karyotyping and confirmed male fetus with 47,XYY,inv(9) (p11;q13). A neonatal survey showed the incidence of XYY male to be approximately 1:1000, the majority of cases are phenotypically normal. XYY males are taller than normal and show delayed mental development. A pericenteric inversion of chromosome 9 that extends from p11 to q13 is considered a normal chromosome variant, but the carrier is at high risk to produce abnormal offspring. As she did not want to terminate her pregnancy, she delivered vaginally in 39weeks 6days of gestation. As a result of physical examination, the neonate showed a normal phenotype. We report it with brief review.
