This study considered the internal flow considering the internal shape of the CNG filling nozzle, which is widely distributed in Korea. The CNG filling nozzle is the last part to pass through in the CNG filling process and has a significant influence on the filling efficiency. The mechanism was identified by disassembling the CNG filling nozzle and performing a flow analysis according to the mechanism. Consequently, the energy loss owing to eddy currents in the flow was determined, and modeling was proposed to reduce the energy loss by simplifying the shape and parts.

Gears are widely used in dynamic force transmission devices, where 90-Nm universal gearboxes are unique components that transmit power to equipment in a variety of industries. To increase the durability of gearbox systems, we conducted microgeometry analysis to increase the gear strength. A gear design with improved bending strength was presented through numerical analysis using the gear analysis program Romax. The bending strength of the gears was adjusted through dislocation processing, which can improve the bending strength of interacting gear pairs, thus making the gearbox more durable and the machine more efficient.

The gear overlap ratio shows the characteristics of the spur gear and the helical gear and varies according to the torsional angle. The gear ratio, tooth width, and center distance, which are restricted in a space of performance and manufacturing and design in the gearbox, are fixed. A parametric study on modules, the number of teeth, and torsion angles was conducted to analyze the relationship between the overlap ratio and PPTE. Then, contact analysis was performed by correcting the tooth profile to improve the transmission error. Contact analysis was performed through correction of the tooth modification to improve transmission error, and the noise was analyzed according to the overlap ratio by applying a noise prediction equation.
