In recent years the research has been focused on the preparation of special glasses, i.e., chalcogenide and heavy metal oxide ones that can transmit optical radiation above 2 um and also other optical parameters exceed those of silica based glasses. The attention in this paper is focused on chalcogenide glasses, on preparation of high quality base glass, for an application in infrared optical product design and manufacture. The amorphous materials of As-Se and Ge-As-Se chalcogenides were prepared by a standard melt-quenching technique. The compositions were mesaured by ICP-AES and EPMA, and structural and thermal properties were studied through various annealing processes. Several anomalies of glass transition and crystallization were observed in the DSC/DTA/TG results of the chalcogenide glass.

Residual stress caused in the weldments with high restraint force are often during welding observed in the weldments of large size nozzles or radial tanks. The reason is that quantitative analysis about thermal stresses during welding is lack for this weldments. To verify Finite Elements Method(FEM) theory, the temperature was measured with thermocouple in a real time in this paper. Also analysis of the thermal stress for welding condition is performed by ABAQUS program package on various welding condition in 304 stainless steel butt welding.

Induction hardening increases hardness near the surface where it's most needed, and leaves the surface in compression which improves fatigue life. Although case depth and chemical composition are same, the structure of induction hardened shaft affects the fatigue strength and life because of austenization during hardening. Therefore torsional fatigue tests of specimens from various structures, which are obtained by nomalizing, spheriodized annealing and tempering after quenching, were conducted on induction hardened automotive drive shafts with various case depths and loads applied in order to evalute the relation between structure and fatigue strength.

This study aims to find the optimal cutting conditions, which are obtained by grinding condition, and the grinding characteristics and condition of constant velocity joint were investigated with respect to wheel velocity, depth of cut, feed speed. Grinding machine has been widely used in manufacturing optical reflects of metal. Such as steel are easy to be machined because of their proper material. As a result I obtained the data of grinding conditions makes good surface roughness and the optimal condition of grinding and get the mesh condition. The purpose of this study is to find the optimum grinding wheel characteristics for cutting constant velocity joint.
칼코게나이드계 비구면 성형렌즈의 기초설계 및 구조적, 광학적 글래스 특성 연구

An increasing interest towards the investigations of chalcogenide glasses has been observed in the past years. This interest is due to their specific properties, as well as to the possibilities for their application in different fields of science. The optical devices, working on the basis of photoinduced phase transition between amorphous and crystalline state in the chalcogenide glasses, are a perspective for the micro- and nano-electronics. Here we were analysis basic physical properties for Ge-As-Se and As-Se chalcogenide glasses samples for characteristic for a planning of chalcogenide aspheric lens. From differential DTA/TG results, activation energies of the crystallizations of Ge<SUB>10</SUB>As<SUB>40</SUB>Se<SUB>50</SUB> and As<SUB>40</SUB>Se<SUB>60</SUB> were approximately 3.6 eV and 3.3 eV, respectively.

The role of microstructure is quite significant in fretting of Ti-6AI-4V since its material properties depend strongly on crystallographic texture. In this study, we adopt crystal plasticity theory with a 2-D planar triple slip idealization to account for microstructure effects such as grain orientation distribution, grain geometry, as well as a colony size. Crystal plasticity simulations suggest strong implications of microstructure effects at fretting contacts.

Surface finish technology is highly demanded in the wide field of industry applications from ultra-precision parts to rough casting parts. Therefore, many kinds of surface finish technologies have been developed for each purpose. Because surface of a car's wheel cast is very rough it becomes the reason of the corrosion. This surface is coated to complement such problem but because surface is rough, the result of coating is not good and the coated metal peels off well. Therefore before the wheel is coated, it is necessary to grind the surface. In this study, we devised the plant to apply a barrel machining to improve the surface roughness and enhance the productivity. Also we could obtain the optimum barrel machining conditions for the proper surface roughness.
