We caclulated the production and decay rates for the intermediate vector bosons (W,Z) in Winberg-Salam model. And we presented the differential cross sections for the processes e^+e^-→W^+W^-, e^+e^-→ZZ and e^+e^-→γZ in e^+e^-CM frame. Using these expressions we discussed the possibility of the event rate for the reactions.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between logical thinking level and conceptions of vision. To achieve these objectives, 250 students of 2nd grade of a girls' middle school in Taegu have been samples and groupes according to the logical thinking level into 'Concrete operational period', 'Transition period', 'Formal operational period'. Also concepts of vision were classkfied according to the route of light. Finally the relationship between logical thinking level and concepts of vision was analyzed. The results of this study were as follows: Many of the 'Concrete operational period' students didn't recognize the route of light, and didn't answer a question about conceptions of vision. And as going to the higher level of logical thinking the rate of the formation of scientific conception was high. Also the result of satistical analysis showed that the degrees of relationshop between thinking level and concepts of vision was high.

Proton decay arising in attempts to unify strong and electro-weak interactions is discussed, and proton lifetime is estimated. We made the several assumptions for the sake of the calculational simplicity, and calculated proton lifetime in SU(5) model. So, we abtained proton lifetime τ_p∼10^31years. In spite of the theoretical uncertainties, our value for proton lifetime is very close to the present experimental (τ_p∼10^30years). The average lifetime of 10^31 years implies that in a collection of 10^31 protons the decay ought to be observed once a year.

The Standard Model is composed of spontaneously broken gauge theory and Higgs mechanism. We obtained Feynman Rules from its Langrangian and calculated the anomalous magnetic moment of muon in terms of vertices and propagators of R_ξ gauge. The result was finite an about 2×10 exp (-9) in the single loop contributions.

The coherent state, introduced into optics to investigate the optical phenomena such as photon correlations, are used to calculate the expectation values of various observables or operators of the radiation fields. From the results the characteristics of the coherent states are demonstrated.

This experiment is a presentation of the experiment in spectroscopy for physics students in college. Comparing the sodium arc lines with the sodium discharge lines, the correct sodium lines were identified. Their wavelengths were calculated with a correction curve of the spectroscope scale reading, that was made with the mercury spectrum as a standard spectrum. The maximum difference between the observed wavelengths and those in the table was 5A. From the appearance of the sodium spectrum and the plotting the observed wavelengths and the head limits of the sharp, principal, and diffuse series were determined. The term values were calculated from these limits and the calculated wave numbers. It was found that the maximum difference between the observed term values and the values given in the table was about 1%. With the calculated term values the Grotrian diagram of sodium was made.

The dimensional regularization method for the renormalization group invented by 't Hooft is applied to (g/4 !) φ^4 theory. It is verified by explicit calculation of two-loop diagrams that the method avoids the infrared problems which give trouble for Weinberg's "zero-mass" renormalization method in field theories with scalar fields. By 't Hooft method, the renormalization constants and parameters that enter into the renormalization group equation are calculated to order g^2.

It is useful to take the Computer Assisted Instruction in science education. The development of CAI soft ware is partially proceeded in soft ware relating areas, but many people in such areas are not concerned with educational concepts. It is necessary to know the educational bases in developing the CAI soft ware. We noted the intrinsic relation between the education theory and assisting instruments with the historical approach. This paper asserted that not only the behaviorismic elements but also cognitive elements must be concerned in designing the CAI program, and soft ware offices that make individual study program must cooperate with educational institues.

The quantum field theory of radiation field is surveyed briefly, and a simple and instructive rule in calculating the matrix elements for emission and absorption of a photon is developed --- the emission or absorption of a light quantum by a charged particle is completely equivalent to an interaction of the charged particle with the equivalent unquantized vector potentials. And then the applicability of the technique is demonstrated in some simple radiative transitions of two atomic states and other phenomena.
