The advent of digital technology made the distinction between nations and languages, time and space, and even between the real world and the virtual no longer relevant or important. Innovation of digital technology in the field of Fashion is digital clothing. The purpose of this study is to conduct a theoretical investigation on how digital clothing could actually be applied in the clothing industry. The significance of this study lies in the facts that the various utilization plans presented herein further enhance the recognition of the necessity of research on digital clothing and that this research provides a solid foundation for further empirical study in pattern making. The fields in the clothing industry in which digital clothing will prove to be applicable are as follows; an innovative manufacture process which increases productivity through utilization of 3D clothing simulation, the activation of online stores, mass-customization production of clothing, SNS (social networking services), and etc. These newly emerging fields are of particular interest concerning the utilization of digital clothing technology. Research of digital clothing needs to be complemented and if that is achieved, digital clothing will bring innovation to all fields in the entire clothing industry; design, production, marketing, promotion, and so much more.

A new technology of fashion show is opening the digital era and an imaginary fashion show is now arising as a new form of fashion show which allows one to enjoy a collection through the monitor without holding a real fashion show. Digital fashion show allows designer to create infinite ideas by articulating the designer`s concept through not only garments but also other factors. In this research, We will analyze cases which are mixtures of digital technology and fashion show and will suggest a new paradigm of fashion show by producing an imaginary fashion show which cannot be easily articulated in an ordinary real fashion show, articulated by garments created by digital technology and graphic effects. The program used for this study is ``DC Suite 2.0`` developed by Physan and Digital Clothing Center of Seoul National University, available for 2D pattern production and 3D simulation. In addition, in order to enhance representation of the visual effects. Maya`s Qualoth and V-ray program which could be compatible with ``DC Suite`` were used to make 3D digital fashion show.

Since fashion is considered to be a cultural product and belongs to the formative art as well, the changes in fashion reflect those of society. Modern fashion has emerged from the period when people would follow the popular fashion uniformly, and moved toward the age of diversity, expressing not only the inner desires and aesthetic sensibility of individuals but also the freedom from formality and traditional restrictions. This kind of changes in expression became important motives for modern dress design following the present cultural phenomena, and, so called outerwear-ization of the undergarment or infra apparel exemplifies this situation. Corset, especially has been playing a vital role in exaggerating and emphasizing the beauty of female body and correction of its shape. Today, one can frequently witness corset in street fashion along with brassier, its sister concept. This outerwear-ization of the undergarment is supplanted as a syndrome. and it is defined as supra syndrome using supra as the opposite meaning to infra. This unique phenomenon of modern fashion cannot be explained by a single social aspect, but as a mixed state of eroticism, fetishism, feminism, demonstrationists and expressionism among several current phenomena. The advent of supra syndrome and its cultural background were illustrated and stand-out supra syndrome exhibited by many world-renowned designers were analyzed in this study. As the result of study, six design pieces were developed and produced in three groups, based on different corset motifs. This study reaffirms that creativity of design is limitless and the imaginative abilities alone cannot accomplish higher level of design and development of works of fashion unless they are accompanied by the understanding of historical background, periodical circumstances and cultural phenomena. In this study, utilizing the modern apparatus such as computer and the advent of the modern technology was also found helpful in creative fashion design process.
