코로나19에 대응하는 동서양 철학적 지향과 한국철학의 가치연구

본 연구는 코로나19에 대응하는 동서양의 철학적 특수성을 비교한다. 그중 비교적 성공적인 방역이라 평가받는 한국의 대응을 한국철학을 기반으로 분석하고 유학사상을 중심으로 철학의 가치를 명시하는 것이 연구의 목적이다. 연구방법으로는 동서양 문헌분석과 담론분석을 사용하였다. 먼저 마이클 샌델의 공동체주의를 중심으로 동서양을 분석한 결과 동양은 공동체주의, 서양은 자유주의가 강하기 때문에 코로나19 대응에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그 이후 동아시아의 유교 자본주의 국가들을 중심으로 코로나19 대응을 살펴본 결과 인(仁)과 화(和)를 중심으로 공동체주의를 형성하고 있는 유교 자본주의 국가들의 특징이 방역에 도움이 된다는 사실을 밝혀냈다. 한국은 대부분의 국민들이 마스크 쓰기와 사회적 거리두기 등을 준수하는데 그 이유를 성리학의 시선(이일분수설, 인심도심설)으로 풀어보았다. 연구 결과, 보편적인 리(理)인 도심(道⼼)이 한국인들에게 갖추어져 있어 충동과 감정을 억누르고 이성적으로 방역수칙 준수 활동에 참여한다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 한국만의 ‘수양론’, 즉 한국 철학의 특수성은 미래의 또 다른 위기 상황에서도 효과가 있을 것이라 결론지을 수 있다. This study compared the philosophical peculiarities of East and West responding to COVID-19. Among them, the purpose of this study was to analyze Korea’s response, which is evaluated as relatively successful prevention, based on Korean philosophy, and to clarify the value of philosophy, centering on the Confucian philosophy. East and West literature analysis and discourse analysis were used as research methods. First, as a result of analyzing the East and the West, focusing on Michael, J. Sandel’s Communitarianism, it was found that there is a difference in response to COVID-19 because the East is strong in Communitarianism and the West is strong in Liberalism. After that, as a result of looking at the response to COVID-19 centering on the Confucian capitalist countries in East Asia, it is found that the Communitarianism characteristics centered on “benevolence” (仁) and “harmony” (和) are helpful in the fight against COVID-19. In Korea, most of the people use masks and keep social distancing, which was interpreted as Sunglihak(Iilbunsu, Insimdosim). As a result of the study, it was found that Koreans have a moral mind (道⼼), which is a universal rational principle (理), to suppress impulses and emotions, and to participate in activities to comply with the quarantine rules rationally. It can be concluded that this unique “self-cultivation” of Korea, the peculiarity of Korean philosophy, will be effective in another crisis situation in the future.
