과학 교과서에 제시된 물질의 상태에 대한 개념 유형 및 개념간 관련성 분석

본 연구는 과학교과서 중 중학교 1학년 교과서 8종과 고등학교 화학Ⅱ 교과서 8종을 대상으로 물질의 상태에 대한 설명을 위하여 제시된 개념 유형을 조사하였고, 이들 개념들이 서로 어떻게 관련지어져 있는지를 분석하였다. 그 결과 과학교과서에서 물질의 상태에 대한 설명을 위하여 적용한 개념의 수가 적었고, 제시된 개념간에도 서로 관련지어 설명되지 않았다. 공통적으로 제시된 개념과 체계적인 개념 유형 선정이 부족하여 통합적인 맥락에서 물질의 상태를 이해하는데 어렵게 구성되어 있었다. 따라서 과학교과서는 물질의 상태에 대한 설명을 위하여 제시되는 개념의 수를 늘리고, 공통적인 개념 유형 선정이 필요하며, 제시된 개념들을 서로 관련지어 설명하여 학생들이 물질의 상태에 대한 올바른 개념을 정립할 수 있도록 통합적인 설명체계로 재구성되어야 할 것이다. This study is a concept pattern analysis of the states of matter presented in korea science textbooks. This study of how these concepts are related to one another reviewed eight different 1st grade middle school science textbooks as well as eight different high school chemistry textbooks Ⅱ. Results indicate that there are not quite enough concepts applied to explain the states of matter. Equally so, there are few explanations showing relation in the presented concepts. The presentation of the states of matter in these textbooks is consistently difficult to understand due to the lack of selection of presented general concepts and the lack of a systematical concept pattern approach to the subject. Therefore, it is our recommendation that the middle and high school science textbooks provide more of these concepts and follow a more systematical approach to imparting this information and these chapters should be reconstructed with an integrated explanation system to form in mind the right concept about the states of matter and to provide a better explanation of the relation of the presented concepts to one another.

This paper presents a new robot calibration algorithm with joint stiffness parameters for the enhanced positioning accuracy of industrial robot manipulators. This work is towards on-going development of an industrial robot calibration software which is able to identify both the kinematic and non-kinematic robot parameters. In this paper, the conventional kinematic calibration and its important considerations are briefly described first. Then, a new robot calibration algorithm which simultaneously identifies both the kinematic and joint stiffness parameters is presented and explained through a computer simulation with a 2 DOF manipulator. Finally, the developed algorithm is implemented to Hyundai HX165 robot and its resulting improvement of the positioning accuracy is addressed.

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅의 한 부분인 RFID 기술은 사무실의 근태 관리 시스템 등에 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존 근태 관리 시스템을 개선하여 상황인식 기술이 추가된 RFID 기반 근태 관리 시스템을 제안한다. RFID 기반 근태 관리 시스템은 사무실 전체에서 실시간으로 RFID 리더 및 센서로 다양한 정보를 읽고 분석하며, 분석된 정보를 이용하여 주변 환경을 제어한다.
울산대학교 공과대학의 공학인증제도 도입과 향후 발전 방향에 관한 조사 연구

울산대학교 공과대학은 경쟁력 있는 공과대학으로 발전하기 위한 일환으로 1999년 후반부터 ABEEK 인증제도 도입을 추진하였다. 그 결과 2003년 1월 공과대학 내 10개의 프로그램이 공학인증을 받게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 울산대학교 공과대학에서 추진해온 ABEEK 인증체제 도입에 따른 성과와 앞으로의 추진방향에 대하여 고찰하였다. University of Ulsan has prepared the Accreditation Program since 1999 and most of the engineering educational programs in College of Engineering have been accredited by ABEEK. This paper provides summarized description of the accreditation system development for engineering education in UOU and also discusses, what is to be considered in order to achieve the continuous improvement of education systems under the Accreditation Program.

Background and Objectives : The treatment of supraglottic stenosis remains a challenging problem in the field of otolaryngology due to its association with dyspnea, dysphagia, and frequent recurrence. Any satisfactory treatment is not yet known. The author experienced six cases of supraglottic stenosis and report the successful treatment of five cases by repeated endoscopic laryngeal excision with KTP-532 laser under suspension layngoscopy. Materials and Methods : Six adults who were treated for supraglottic stenosis between March 1994 and December 1998 at the Department of Otoloaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Korea University Medical Center were studied retrospectively. The patients were placed under general anesthesia followed by endoscopic laryngeal excision with KTP-532 laser under supension laryngoscopy. The scar tissue and granulation tissue were visualized with an operating microscope, and then removed using KTP-532 laser (15watts, continuous mode). Intraoperative local steroid(Triamcinolone ) was injected in all cases after the stenotic portions were removed. Results : Endoscopic excision was performed in five cases ; among the five cases, cricoid cartilage was concomitantly removed in two cases, and epiglottis was removed in one case. Satisfactory swallowing and airway respiration were possible in all five patients who underwent endoscopic widening. Conclusion : The treatment of supraglottic stenosis is different from that of tracheal or glottic stenosis in that supraglottic stenosis is mainly developed in membraneous form. Repeated laser excision and local steroid injection under suspension laryngoscopy is an effective and recommend able method for the treatment of supraglottic stenosis.

This study was conducted to identify groundwater recharge and discharge amounts of a representative urban-rural composite area located in Yongin city, Kyounggi-do, Korea. Groundwater recharge would be affected by mainly two processes in the study area: rainfall and leakage from public water pipelines including water-supply and sewage system. Groundwater recharge rate was estimated to be 13.5% by applying annual groundwater level data from two National Groundwater Monitoring Stations to the master regression curve method. Subsequently, the recharge amounts were determined to be $13,253{\times}10^3m^3/yr$. Leakage amounts from water-supply and sewage system were estimated to be $3,218{\times}10^3$ and $5,696{\times}10^3m^3/yr$, respectively. On the whole, a total of the recharge amounts was $22,167{\times}10^3m^3/yr$, of which 60% covers rainfall recharge and 40% pipeline leakage. Groundwater discharge occurred through three processes in the composite area: baseflow, well pumping, and discharge from urban infrastructure including groundwater infiltration into sewage pipeline and artificial extraction of groundwater to protect underground facilities from submergence. Discharge amounts by baseflow flowing to the Kiheung agricultural reservoir and well pumping were estimated to be $382{\times}10^3$ and $1,323{\times}10^3m^3/yr$, respectively. Occurrence of groundwater infiltration into sewage pipeline was rarely identified. Groundwater extraction amounts from the Bundang subway line as an underground facility were identified as $714{\times}10^3m^3/yr$. Overall, a total of the discharge amounts was determined to be $2,419{\times}10^3m^3/yr$, which was contributed by 29% of artificial discharge. Even though groundwater budget of the composite area was identified to be a surplus, it should be managed for a sound groundwater environment by changing deteriorated pipelines and controlling artificial discharge amounts.

Emphysematous pyelonephritis (EPN) is a necrotizing infection of the kidney with gas formation that can be fatal if it is not detected and treated promptly. Typical manifestations are high fever, flank pain, and shock. It typically occurs in patients with diabetes and, although rarely reported, in hemodialysis (HD) patients with or without diabetes. Furthermore, asymptomatic EPN has not yet been reported in HD patients. Here, we report a case of asymptomatic EPN in a diabetic HD patient incidentally detected with follow-up abdominal computed tomography after resection of colon cancer. (Korean J Med 2016;91:202-205)
