        The purpose of this paper is to clarify that cultural teaching in language education is rather essential than additional element to be connected with language teaching. In the field of language education, cultural teaching often put a focus on the characteristics of culture itself, which is separate from language. Although the teaching of these culture-independent items is also important, considering the educational field where language learning is the main focus, it is more important to pay attention to the cultural characteristics revealed in the language and to educate them. First, this study proposes cultural teaching items according to proficiency through analysis of Korean textbooks and Korean cultural books. Since culture is difficult to set difficulty level, a basic content presentation type (matrix type) is suggested rather than a liner type approach. These are based on the importance of the culture itself, which can be treated as the native language of learners, not the target language, Korean. Next, this study emphasizes the necessity of language education connected with culture, and presents the cases of discourse markers and grammar teaching to specify them. This study suggests that discourse markers are insufficient only by lexical approach, and they should be taught with a focus on function of discourse in consideration of context and environment of discourse. In addition, it is emphasized that the grammar teaching should not only be carried out about the syntactic constraints of grammatical items, but also should be related to the utterance intention of the speaker in discourse levels and the context in which communication takes place. This study wants to show that the context is based on Korean culture.

        스페인어권 한국어 학습자의 어미·조사 및 시상, 사동 범주의 오류 분석

        This study is conducted with Korean- Spanish contrasitive analysis data. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the results of contrasitive analysis are reflected in the Korean learner's errors. This study also explains the types of errors using the sample questionnaires and short compositions. This study is intended to examine the correlations between the results of contrasitive analysis and error analysis. The scope of the data used in this study is restricted to the ending and particles, and tense-aspects and causative forms which are related to the ending. This study reveals a significant correlation between contrasitive analysis and error-data. This study can contribute to finding the causes of errors and thereby reducing the errors in the Korean language education.

        한국인의 가치문화 교수방안

        The purpose of this study is to bring up the necessity of culture instruction based on value in Korean education and to suggest its practical methodology. The foreign learners studying in Korea have strong language needs while those studying in the U.S. and Europe have additional needs of knowing Korean culture as well. Therefore, this study attempts to provide foreign learners with some information and knowledge about Korean modern cultures and to facilitate their understanding. The traditional classes teaching Korean culture simply focus on delivering information about Korean life culture. In this regard, this study tries to overcome their limitations and to provide foreign learners with the opportunity to know Korean peoples’ perspective implicit in their life style. This study examines Korean value oriented culture from the viewpoint of culture relativism and explores the characteristics of Korean cultures from the contrasitive cultures’ standpoint. Korean learners can appreciate Korean peoples’ perspective by value approached study. (Kyunghee University)

        한국어 학습자 구어 자료 전사에서의 쟁점과 구어 전사의 실제

        The purpose of this paper is to address issues regarding verbal transcription in terms of peculiarities of learners’ spoken data, reliability between transcribers, issues of objective tagging and three aspects of efficiency and systemicity in corpus construction(transcription level, transcription limit and transcription method) building a computer-based learners’ corpus. First, considering the characteristics of the learners’ spoken language featuring inter-transfer as well as intra-transfer going beyond native speakers’ oral characteristics, there are a variety of the transcription level, transcription limit and transcription methods according to the purpose of utilization of learners’ spoken data. Second, in terms of tagging that increases the reliability and objectivity among transcribers, a focus will be put on the minimum guidelines needed for implementation of research objectives and program utilization ,subsequent simple transcription, training and step-by-step review. Third, issues of efficiency and systemicity are linked to the issue of efficiency and readability of the search and are associated with costs of economic feasibility. The simplistic processing of foreign LINDSEI can be referred to in this regard.

        언어학습자를 위한 『한국어기초사전』편찬의 원리와 실제

        이 연구는 『한국어기초사전』의 실제와 편찬 원리를 사전학적 측면에서 뿐만아니라 언어교육적 측면에서 검토하면서 그 타당성을 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 사전 편찬의 단계는 세 단계를 거치는 데 (1) 사전 개발을 위한 기초 연구 단계와 (2) 사전의 원고 작성 단계, 그리고 (3) 사전의 원고 교정 단계이다. 『한국어기초사전』은 한국어 학습자를 위한 다국어 사전으로 다국어 대역을 위한 이중 언어사전이다. 또한 웹에서 제공되는 것을 목적으로 만들어졌으며 이해 어휘뿐만 아니라 표현을 위한 사전으로서의 표제어를 선정하고 기술하였다. 표제어 선정은 규범적인 어휘뿐만 아니라 모국어 화자들이 실제 언어생활의 사용 실태를 반영한 모든 어휘를 대상으로 선정을 하였다. 이 사전의 표제 항목은 5만 항목이며, 기술은 주표제어 정보, 각각의 의미 정보, 그리고 부가 정보를 제공하였다. 본고는 이사전의 거시 구조 및 미시 구조를 살펴본 것을 바탕으로 하여, 언어 학습자의 어휘능력 향상을 위한 언어 교육의 활용 가능성을 모색하고 향후 기초 사전이 나아갈 방향을 살펴보았다. This study is aimed to verify the validity of the principles and contents in <Basic Korean Dictionary> from the perspective of language education and lexicographical theory. The study investigated the principles of developing this dictionary in each stage of the three developing stages : (1) literature review of lexicography related to compiling a basic dictionary, (2) writing a manuscript of the basic dictionary, and (3) editing the dictionary. <Basic Korean Dictionary > is the multilingual Korean learner’s dictionary with a format of a semi-bilingual dictionary. The dictionary is a web-based dictionary intended for the use of receptive and productive purposes of main entries. Entry selection included all of the words -not just prescriptively but descriptively correct words - which reflected real language usage of native Koreans. There are around 50 thousand total entries that include - main entry information, individual meaning information, and additional entry information. Lastly, the current study confirmed this dictionary provides all of the linguistic information to improve vocabulary competence and vocabulary knowledge of language learners from the perspective of language education.

        최신 문법교수 이론의 경향과 한국어교육에의 적용

        This study reviews the latest grammar teaching theories and discusses its applications to Korean grammar teaching. It finds that the current trend in grammar teaching studies is shifting from written grammar to spoken grammar, changing from sentence-based grammar to discourse-based grammar, and adopting a discourse approach rather than a lexical approach. In addition, this study demonstrates that the grammar teaching study focus more on form within communicative approach. This study is able to confirm that grammar teaching method is influenced by linguistic theory and that its applications to classroom and textbooks are to be desired.

        문법교육 : 부정표현의 맥락 문법 연구 - 안 -지 않다와 -지 못해(요)를 중심으로

        The purpose of this study is to examine patterns of uses of grammar in context and utilize them to build instructional materials for on-site Korean language teaching. In order to build a list of Korean negative expressions, this study collects the negative expressions from Korean teaching materials and learners’ dictionaries and calculates their overlapping frequencies. Data used in this study covers thirty six Korean textbooks of six kinds published by university-affiliated Korean language educational institutions and Korean learners’ dictionaries of 3 kinds. This study collects a list of negative expressions by analyzing a corpus and investigates a variety of context information based on semi-spoken and spoken corpus. In order to analyse the context characteristics of negative expressions according to speaker’s utterance intention, this study searches the examples from corpus and puts a tag on every footnotes information associated with discourse genre characteristics of the target sentence, the dialogue user relations (speaker and listener information), each speaker’s utterance intention in Excel. The results from this study are summarized as follows. First, ‘안 .지 않다’ sentence structure shows distinctive features from speaker’s utterance intention according to sentence ending forms. However, thereappear no distinctive characteristics according to speaker’s gender, status, and the relationship between speaker and listeners. It is mostly used in informal environments and mainly used actively in a conversation. Second, impolite forms of ‘-지 못해’ and polite forms of ‘-지 못해(요)’ show differences in terms of utterance intention used in the actual corpus and confirms gender differences in the intended utterance. Also women have preference for a long negation of ‘-지 못해(요)’ compared to men. In case of use other than denying, its usage is limited to the situation where the listener has equal to or lower status than the speaker.
