The piston motor handled in this research is connected by extending the axis of the hydraulic motor that drives the winch of the mobile crane. The hydraulic piston motor acts as a hydraulic pump by receiving the rotational force of the winch shaft generated when the load falls, and discharges the flow rate. Conversely, when the load rises, the pressure is supplied through the existing winch hydraulic motor and the auxiliary hydraulic pressure source and acts as a hydraulic motor. It plays a role as an auxiliary power system that is subject to less load on existing hydraulic systems. When raising and lowering the crane load, the operating conditions were analyzed and verified through interpretation as to whether it is structurally stable when the hydraulic piston motor performs the pump function. For performance verification, test methods were established and test equipment was constructed based on actual usage conditions. As a result, we confirmed that it is possible to use a piston motor as a pump for energy regeneration. From now on, it seems that it will be necessary to verify the reliability through durability test considering the actual use time.
