장노년층 고객의 사용 편의성을 고려한 무인주문 키오스크 디자인 방향 제시: 국내 패스트푸드 상위 5개 브랜드 키오스크의 하드웨어 인터페이스를 중심으로

Background The introduction of fast food unmanned kiosks is spreading, but the digital marginalization phenomenon is increasing due to lack of usability consideration for the information vulnerable class. Research on improving kiosk usability for the elderly is also emerging, but most of the software usability improvement methods are still lacking. Methods This study considered kiosks, users, and design approaches through the literature survey, and through the observation, we comprehensively looked at the service environment, product analysis, and user interface of fast food kiosks, and found painting points for older-aged customers. Results The components of the fast-food restaurant kiosk had almost the same user interface. Considering the average size of the human body of the aged population, it was possible to predict the use problem objectively in kiosk drawing, and summarizing the observation using the customer margin chart provided contextual identification of actual use problems. Conclusion A comprehensive summary of the problems resulted in a major use problem in the simultaneous software and hardware interface between the kiosk screen and the payment section, and suggested a design direction for each component to solve the problem.
