『상복이 어울리는 엘렉트라 』에 나타난 청교도적 운명의 비극적 재현 고찰

유진 오닐은 미국의 현대연극에서 다양한 형태의 극을 저술하였다. 오닐은 『상복이 어울리는 엘렉트라』를 통해서 뉴잉글랜드 지방에서 수행되고 있는 청교도 사회의 지나친 도덕적 억압에 대해서 비판하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 이 작품의 여주인공인 라비니아의 청교도적 엄격함과 위선이 촉발시킨 비극적 운명의 연쇄 고리를 끊어버리기 위한 희생적인 삶이 제공해줄 수 있는 희망적 메시지의 가능성을 살펴보고자 한다. 본 연구는 청교도적 운명의 비극적 연쇄작용을 끊어내기 위해서 세상과 단절한 채, 고통스러운 속죄의 시간을 갖는 시대적 희생자로서의 라비니아를 다른 인물들과 함께 살펴보고자 한다. 오닐은 이 작품에서 등장인물들이 청교도적 엄격함에서 벗어나 자유로운 삶과 사랑을 갈구하지만 청교도적 비극의 굴레와 속박에 구속되는 모습을 묘사하고 있다. 이 작품에서 청교도를 대표하는 마농 가문의 마지막 생존자로서 비극적 역사의 굴레를 피하지 않고, 당당하게 맞서고 있는 라비니아는 세상과 단절한 채, 고통스러운 삶을 수용하고 있다. 결국, 라비니아는 적극적인 방식으로 속죄를 통한 자기 깨달음을 경험하면서 인간 존재의 의미와 가치에 대해서 다시 한 번 생각해볼 수 있는 인식적 토대를 마련해주고 있다. Eugene Gladstone O’Neill wrote various types of plays in contemporary American theater. O’Neill criticizes the excessive moral oppression of Puritan society in New England through the Mourning Becomes Electra. The purpose of this study is to examine the possibility of hopeful messages that the sacrificial life of Lavinia, the heroine of this work, and the sacrificial life can provide to break the chain of tragic fate triggered by hypocrisy. O’Neill depicts the characters in this work, freed from Puritan strictness, longing for free life and love, but bound by the bondage of Puritan tragedy. In this work, Lavinia, who is the last survivor of the Puritan’s representative Mannon family, avoiding the trajectory of tragic history, stands proud and embraces a painful life, disconnected from the world. In the end, Lavinia, in a positive way, experiences self-awareness through the Atonement, providing a cognitive basis for rethinking the meaning and value of human existence.

우키요에의 인지도를 활용한 한일 풍속화 공동 전시 콘텐츠 고찰

본 연구의 목적은 우키요에(浮世繪)가 다양한 대중들에게 제시할 수 있었던 기능과 의미에 대해서 논의하는 것이다. 우키요에는 이상적인 세계, 과거, 그리고 미래의 묘사보다는 현실 묘사에 초점을 맞추는 회화이다. 우키요에는 목판화를 통한 대량생산체제를 토대로 일반 서민들에게 긴밀하게 다가갈 수 있었다. 대량생산체제는 대중들이 쉽게 우키요에를 구매 및 감상 기회를 제공하였다. 일반적으로 예술작품은 특권계층의 전유물이었다. 그러나 우키요에는 특권계층에 한정되는 것이 아니라, 대중들도 즐길 수 있는 예술작품으로 발전하였다. 우키요에는 일본의 독자적인 회화 기법으로서 누구나 공감할 수 있는 시대적인 풍속이나 관심 사항들을 주제로 채택하였다. 우키요에가 지닌 특징은 목판화를 활용한 대량복제와 대량생산, 저렴한 가격을 통한 가격 경쟁력 확보, 원초적 욕망의 묘사, 대중성, 유희성, 그리고 카르페 디엠(Carpe diem)을 들 수 있다. 일본의 우키요에가 고통스러운 현실의 긍정성을 확보하는 기능이 있는 것처럼, 한국의 조선 시대 풍속화도 현실의 긍정성을 회복하는 기능을 지녔다. 전자가 세계적인 인기와 유행을 얻으면서 서양의 인상파 화가들에게 영향력을 행사했다면 후자는 상대적 인지도가 떨어진다. 지역의 차별적 특성이 가미된 문화상품이 경쟁력을 지닌 세계화 시대에 한국의 풍속화와 일본의 우키요에는 독창적 가치를 지닌다. 따라서 우키요에가 지닌 인지도를 활용하여 양국의 풍속화를 박람회 개최 및 전시관의 공동 전시를 통해서 활발한 문화교류, 인지도 상승, 관광 소비자들의 수요 충족, 그리고 지역 경제활성화를 도모할 필요가 있다.

『뜻대로 하세요』( As You Like It)에 나타난 숲이 지닌 유토피아적 역할

Shakespeare's romantic comedy, As You Like It in terms of the utopian role is concerned with more desirable ways of organizing human relationships. This comedy seems light and gay on the surface but actually deal with serious social problems. So it is interesting to note that this comedy which is characterized by the happy endings, is involved in the tension between the utopian vision and reality. This comedy explores the general nature of modern civilization in the context of pastoralism, where the equilibrium of civilization and nature can be discovered. And at the same time, this comedy shows that corrupted civilization is susceptible to renewal and reform by the lesson of the wilderness. This comedy end happily, but character such as Jaques is alienated from the happy ending. His characterization is complex, and his exclusion mars the comic resolution. In the civilized liberty of the forest of the Arden, young lovers achieve their love and the clowns, Touchstone and Jaques, are allowed to mock and satirize everything their values towards court and that of the forest. The forest in this comedy is presented as the shelter characters enter, escaping from the tragic 'real world.' They are the place where characters undergo changes, and the changes affect the 'real world,' leading the entire story to a happy ending. Arden forest in four couples who have fallen in love are changed and come to marry. Especially evil brothers, Oliver and Duke Frederick convert and become new men. The forest help characters solve interpersonal and circumstantial problems and, furthermore, lead to concord and reconciliation.

전시컨벤션을 통한 오타쿠 문화의 상품화

The purpose of this study was to explore the commercialization of Otaku culture through exhibition and convention center. Basically, Otaku is different from the terms of mania or fans, who show only interests or being fond of somebody as they like them. Otaku reveals the phenomena that individuals feed there passion for knowledge and inquiry about a given object. However, specifically, Otaku means individuals who are addicted to the Japanese subcultures of comics, animation, game and figure, and has unique characteries that investigate a target object in an addictive behavior as compared to those who normally do. Otaku is also regarded as a potential criminal or an insane person in the past. but recently, Otaku culture has been extended to the U.S.A and Europe areas. The power of Otaku is increasing in both quantity and quality through the feeling of connection. Exhibition and convention center is very important because of its role in sharing various cultural phenomenon. The commercialized of Otaku culture through exhibition and convention programs may lead to the increased number of in- and out-bound tourists to a specific destination.

전시컨벤션센터와 참관객간의 상호 소통 고찰 - 시선과 응시 개념을 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 시선과 응시 개념을 통해서 전시컨벤션센터와 참관객과의 관계를 연구하고자 하는 것이다. ‘본다는 것’이 중요한 의미를 가짐에도 불구하고, 많은 사람들이 그것을 인식하고 있지 않다. 전시컨벤션센터는 참관객들 스스로 권력-지식체계에 적응하는 ‘타자’로 만들기 위해서 파놉틱적인 강요의 시선을 보낸다. 본 연구는 전시컨벤션센터의 일방적인 시선으로 인해서 참관객들을 고립시킬 수 있는 상황을 재현시킨다. 본 연구는 전시컨벤션센터가 일방적인 시선을 주입시키는 방법으로서 미셸 푸코의 권력이론을 활용한다. 또한 본 연구는 전시컨벤션센터가 권력의 영역이라는 사실에 접근하기 위해서 자크 라깡의 시선과 응시의 개념을 활용한다. 물론 이것은 전시컨벤션센터와 참관객들 사이의 상호 소통을 증진시키기 위해서 그것을 하나의 담론으로 서술함으로써 참관객들에게 하나의 현상을 제공하는 것이다. 참관객들은 이러한 주도적 참여기회의 확대로 인해서 단순한 전시품에 대한 시선에서 벗어나 전시컨벤션센터와 자신들의 관계를 객관화시킬 수 있는 응시를 하게 되는 것이다. 왜냐하면, 전시컨벤션센터의 질서체계 속에서 소외된 타자였던 참관객들이 다양한 방식의 주도적 참여 기회를 통해서 자기인식의 과정에 도달할 수 있기 때문이다. 이러한 참관객들의 자기인식의 과정이 응시가 발생하는 접점이다. 따라서 전시컨벤션센터는 참관객들이 응시할 수 있도록 전시관 주도의 전시가 아니라, 참관객들이 주체적으로 참여할 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 개발하면서 소통의 기회를 마련해야 한다. 이러한 양자 간의 지속적인 소통과 교류의 확대는 전시컨벤션센터의 경쟁력 확보와 활성화에 도움을 줄 것이다. The purpose of this paper is to study about relation between the Exhibition and Convention Center and visitors through the concept of the eye and the gaze. Though the act of 'seeing' has an important meaning, many people don't recognize it. The Exhibition and Convention Center provides visitors with panoptic, forcing eyes in order to make them 'others' adapting themselves to its own power-knowledge system. This paper presents that the Exhibition and Convention Center enables visitors to be isolated by its own unilateral eyes. This paper uses Michel Foucault's power theory as a method of injecting Exhibition and Convention Center's unilateral eyes, and Jacques Lacan's eyes and gazing to approach the fact that the Exhibition and Convention Center is an area of power. Of course, it presents only one phenomenon to visitors by describing it as a discourse to improve interactive communication between the Exhibition and Convention Center and visitors.

강화의 샤먼문화를 통한 축제 콘텐츠 고찰

Recently, local governments are demanding creative cultural tourism contents that can effectively promote local image in order to revitalize the local economy and enhance the value of the region. Ganghwa Island is a place where the dolmen of the Bronze Age and the roots and the holy land of the Korean people are located. These cultural heritages of Ganghwa Island are very valuable in that they can plan local cultural contents with creativity and imagination. Therefore, if the shamans scattered around the world are used as festival contents in harmony with the Shaman culture and materials of the Ganghwa area and are suitable for the modern sense, many foreigners and locals who have visited Ganghwa area will be able to experience the essence of nature-friendly Shaman culture by escaping from the stiff urban space. 최근 지역자치단체들은 지역의 경제 활성화와 지역의 가치를 높이기 위해서 효과적으로 지역의 이미지 홍보할 수 있는 창의적인 문화관광 콘텐츠들을 필요로 하고 있다. 강화도는 원시 인류의 숨결이 살아 있는 청동기 시대의 고인돌과 한민족의 뿌리이자 성지라고 할 수 있는 마니산 참성단이 소재하고 있는 공간이다. 이러한 강화도의 문화유산들은 창의력과 상상력이 발현된 지역 문화콘텐츠를 기획할 수 있는 소재라는 점에서 매우 가치가 있다. 따라서 전 세계에 흩어져 있는 샤먼들이 강화 지역의 샤먼문화 및 소재들과 조화를 이루면서 현대적 감각에 맞는 축제콘텐츠로 활용된다면, 강화지역을 찾는 많은 외국인들과 내국인들은 답답한 도시 공간을 벗어나 자연친화적인 샤먼문화의 정수를 경험할 수 있게 될 것이다.

A Study on the Existential Meaning and Value of Modern People through The Fixer

This study intends to discuss the process by which individual persecution and oppression based on a Jewish background in Bernard Malamud's The Fixer is extended to all modern problems. Malamud's The Fixer effectively presents the problem of injustice and persecution experienced by Jews based on actual events. The Jewish protagonist in The Fixer realizes that attempts to evade Jewish traditions and identities, which are not properly recognized in Russian society, are a situation in which they are imprisoned in a mental prison. Malamud extends the problem of isolation and alienation experienced by Jews to the problem of humanity as a whole. In conclusion, Malamud reminds readers that in situations of pain and oppression, rather than sinking into frustration and helplessness, they should realize the meaning and value of pain.
