Purpose. The purpose of this study was conducted to identify college students' sleep type and awareness of sleep. Methods. We researched 250 students in a college using the Korean Translation of Composite Scale(KtCS) and awareness of sleep questionnaire. Results. The sleeping hour of college students was 395.28 minute in average. The research showed that the biggest reason for the lack of sleep is using the computer, mobile and watching TV(22.6%), and most of them said that the lack of sleep is causing drowsiness during the daytime( 29.2%). For the questions asking when they feel drowsy during the daytime, most of them forcing themselves to stay awake(29.2%) and they caught up on sleep on the weekend(32.5%). Conclusions. Therefore college students to keep relevant sleep time and to know about the importance of the sleep.

Purpose : The aim of this study was to identify the relation of cognition and visuospatial perception in stoke patients. Methods : A total of 16 stroke patients recruited from two hospital located in Donghae, Kang-won participated in this study(Right hemiplegia : twelve, Left hemiplegia : four). All participants scored higher than 20 point on the MMSE-K. To assess the cognitive function, we performed the Korean version of Mini Mental State Examination(MMSE-K), spatial perception domain of Lowenstein Occupational Therapy Cognition Assessment(LOTCA), Figure Color Copy(FCC), Linebisection Test(LBT) and Albert's test in stoke patients. Results: The Korean version of Mini Mental State Examination and spatial perception domain of Lowenstein Occupational Therapy Cognition Assessment were the highest points in sixty ages, Figure Color Copy is difference between Right hemiplegia and Left hemiplegia. Linebisection Test(LBT) and Albert's test had much relation, visuospatial perception had not relationship. Conclusion: Aging was cognition function and visuospatial perception had an interrelationship. visuospatial perception according to affected side in brain had an interrelationship but cognition function and visuospatial perception had not any interrelationship.

교육제도에서 스포츠와 사회적 지위에 관한 연구 III

학교 운동선수들의 사회적 지위를 탐색한 선행 연구들(강신욱, 1989, 1999)에 후속하여 이 연구는 10년 주기로 선수들의 사회적 지위와 함께 애교심 형성에 기여하는 학교운동부의 역할 변화를 관찰하고자 하였다. 연구를 위해 2009년 4월부터 6월까지 다단계 유층집락표집법을 이용하여 서울특별시의 48개 중·고·대학교에서 967명을 표집 하였으며, 조사도구는 선행 연구(강신욱, 1989, 1999; Coleman, 1961; Eitzen, 1976; Friesen, 1968; Thirer & Wright, 1985) 시 사용하였던 설문 내용을 재사용하였다. 이상의 과정을 거쳐 다음의 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 남녀 학생 모두의 집단에서 동성의 운동선수는 학업이 우수한 학생, 학생활동의 리더인 학생 다음으로 비교적 하위의 사회적 지위를 갖는다. 둘째, 남자 중학생과 여자 대학생, 성적이 상위인 남학생과 하위인 여학생, 신체적 여가활동을 즐기고, 전통적으로 우수한 실적의 운동부가 없는 학교에서 동성의 운동선수는 비교적 상위의 지위를 갖는다. 셋째, 남학생 집단에서 여학생 운동선수는 외모, 사회적 배경, 학업, 학생활동 다음으로 최하위의 사회적 지위를 갖는다. 반면에 여학생 집단에서 남학생 운동선수는 외모 다음으로 차상위의 지위를 갖는다. 넷째, 대학생, 성적이 상위인 학생, 신체적 여가활동을 즐기고, 전통적으로 우수한 실적의 운동부가 있는 학교의 여학생 집단에서 이성의 운동선수는 비교적 상위의 지위를 갖는다. 다섯째, 남녀 학생 모두의 집단에서 학교운동부는 최하위의 애교심 결정 요인이다. 여섯째, 대학생, 성적이 상위인 남학생과 하위인 여학생, 신체적 여가활동을 즐기는 학생, 그리고 전통적으로 우수한 실적의 운동부가 있는 학교에서 학교운동부는 비교적 상위의 애교심 결정 요인으로 평가된다. 이상의 결과를 10년 전, 20년 전의 연구들과 비교할 때 동성 집단에서 학원스포츠는 여전히 하위의 사회적 지위 및 애교심 결정 요인으로 위치해 있다고 볼 수 있다. 다만 여학생 집단에서 남학생 스포츠는 상당히 긍정적으로 평가되는 변화 양상을 보이고 있다. 이와 같은 현상은 근래의 다양한 노력에도 불구하고 학교운동부가 개선의 여지를 적지 않게 내포하고 있음을 반증한다. 따라서 학교운동부를 포함해 학교체육 전반에 걸친 내실화 노력이 부단히 계속되어야 하는데, 선수들의 수업권 회복과 폭력·성폭력으로부터의 보호 등을 강력히 실천하기 위해 학내에 지역의 시민사회가 동참하는 가칭 `운동부 학사관리위원회`를 시급히 설치할 필요가 있다. The prime goal of the present study was to find out the relationship between sport participation and social status in educational institution succeedingly previous studies(Kang, 1989, 1999). In addition, the study attempted to survey the actual condition of role of sport that contribute to formulating the students` school spirit. 967 students were collected from 48 middle, high schools and university located in Seoul as subjects using multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method from April to June, 2009. Social status and school spirit through sport were measured by the scale used previous studies(Coleman, 1961; Eitzen, 1976; Friesen, 1968; Kang, 1989, 1999; Thirer & Wright, 1985). Mean and order were produced by items, ANOVA and 2-way ANOVA were used to test the mean difference at α level .05. In comparison with results of previous studies, the significant results obtained from this procedure were as follows; 1. Same gender student-athletes have comparatively lower status than good students and student union leading students among both male and female students. 2. Female student-athletes have the lowest status among male students. Otherwise, male student-athletes have the second status following appearance among female students. 3. The school spirit determinant factor among male students is peer relations, educational environment, tradition, advanced school entrance rate/percentage of employment, and sports in that order. In case of female students, educational environment, peer relations, advanced school entrance rate/percentage of employment, tradition, and sports in that order. In conclusion, there is a negative relationship between sports participation and social status in Korean educational institution as same as 10 and 20 years ago. Sports is nearly the lowest-ranking factor that influences students` social status and school spirit among same gender students. However, it shows changing aspects that male student-athletes is evaluated positively among female students.

N/A Thickening of tubular basement membrane and progressive tubulointerstitial fibrosis has been reported as important components of diabetic nephropathy, In order to investigate the mechanisms of tubulinterstitial changes in diabetic nephropathy, we evaluated the effects of a high concentration of glucose(25mM; 450mg/dL) on glucose transporter GLUT1 level, fibronectin production and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMP)-1 concentration in renal tubular(LLC-PK₁) cells. As the effect of high glucose-induced alteration in LLC-PK< cells, the expression of facilitative glueose transporter, GLUT1 was decreased after longer than 24-hours exposure to 25mM glucose, compared to control(5.6mM). The administration of protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor GF109203X(10μM) did not show significant effect on high glucose-induced decrease of GLUT1 level. On western blot analysis of fibronectin production, The exposure of LLC-PK cells to 25mM glucose for 48 hours significantly increasc4 fibro- nectin production, dose-dependently. The addition of GF102903X at the concentration of 10pM induced the significant increase of fibronectin level in LLC-PK₁cells under glucose-free condition, whereas there was no significant effect on the high glucose-induced increase of fibronectin production. The addition of anti-TGF-βantibody at 30μg/mL partly inhibited the high glucose-induced increase of fibronectin production. Concerning the changes of tissue inhibitor of metallo-proteinase(TIMP)-1 levels in the presence of high glucose, the exposure to high glucose for 24 and 43 hours increased TIMP-1 levels in culture supernatant of LLC-PK₁ cells, dose-dependently. The TIMP-1 levels of 48-hour exposure to 15 and 25mM glucose were also significantly higher than those of 24-hourexposure. The treatment with 10μM GF102903X or 30μg/mL anti-TGF-βantibody had no significant effects on TIMP-1 levels measured under the high glucose culture condition. In conclusion, the expression of facilitative glucose transporter, GLUT1 is inhibited and the production of fibronectin is increased in renal tubular cells cultured in the presence of high concentration of glucose, which is partly mediated by TGF-β. The TIMP-1 level is also increased under high glucose culture condition. The enhanced productions of fibronectin and TIMP-1 of renal tubular cells under high glucose concentration may contribute to tubulointerstitial fibrosis that occurs in diabetic nephropathy.

The Harlem Renaissance in literature was never a cohesive movement. But it was loosely bound together by a desire for racial self-assertion and self-definition in the face of white supremacy. At that time, the New Negro was thought of as a black American social identity that travelled well beyond the confines of the United States, to serve as a metaphor for a rising, black, cultural and intellectual consciousness informed by international political events. At the same time, an ensemble of poets, novelists, playwrights, and artists rejected the white Jesus images around them which was a shape-shifting totem of white supremacy. They blackened him for the first time with paintings that portrayed him as a lynch victim and by telling new tales of the Son of God born in the American South, teaching racial harmony and economic justice, and then crucified for such southern heresies. Contrary to received opinions, I think that Counte?e Cullen was one of the black poets who represented the spirit of the New Negro very well. Particularly, his poem “The Black Christ” was a noticeable narrative planned to challenge and subvert white supremacy by presenting a Christ to white America who was emphatic to suffering blacks in the South of America.

사회보장제도 자산기준 적용방식으로서 자산의 소득 환산에 대한 비판적 고찰

우리나라의 사회보장제도에서는 지원 대상을 선정하기 위한 소득-자산 조사의 방법으로 자산을 소득으로 환산하여 소득에 합산하는 방식이 매우 광범위하게 활용되고 있다. 흔히 소득인정액 방식이라고 지칭되는 이 방식은 지나치게 복잡하여 잠재적 대상자들로 하여금 제도에 대한 접근을 제약할 우려가 있고, 이중 기준선 방식과 비교할 때 효율성의 손실을 초래한다. 주거급여 제도에서는 주거자산에 대한 해석에서 제도 내 모순을 초래하기도 한다. 이러한 문제점을 해소하면서도 자산의 소득환산이 갖는 긍정적 측면을 유지하려면 소득과 자산의 이중 기준선 방식을 적용하되 소득구간별로 자산기준을 차등화하거나 수급연차별로 자산기준을 차등화하는 방안을 고려할 필요가 있다. 아울러 주거용 자산에 대해서는 훨씬 높은 자산기준을 적용하는 것이 바람직하다(JEL분류: H2, H5, I3). The aim of this research is to suggest how to reform the asset test asset limits and how to apply asset test criteria in Korea. The main feature of asset test in Korean Social Security System is that most of benefits with asset test use asset-income conversion method. Because the current asset-income conversion system has some inefficiency problem and logical inconsistency, and play almost no practical role, it needs to be replaced with modified dual (income and asset) cut-off system. Setting different asset limits according to income zone or beneficiary years, for example, could be an alternative for conversion rule. Classification among asset type should be more simplified. But even in that case, distinction between housing and non-housing asset is still necessary and limit of housing asset should be increased.

N/A The optimum cultural temperature and time for the production of chitinase from Pseudomonas vesicularis KW-15 were 30t and 60 hrs, respectively. The enzyme was purified by ammonium sulfate fractionation, affinity adsorption, two times of DEAE-cellulose column chromatography. Specific activity of the purified enzyme was 11.0 U/mg. protein and the yield of the enzyme activity was 16.2%. The purified enzyme showed a single protein band on polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and its molecular weight was estimated to be 62,000 by SDS-polyacrylamide disc gel electrophoresis. The isoelectric point of the purified enzyme was pH 4,9.
