초점 억양에 대한 한국인 모어 화자와 중국인 학습자의 지각 범주화 양상 연구

The purpose of this study is to reveal Korean native speakers and Chinese learners’ categorical perception of the intonational cues of focus. In order to do that, 19 Korean native speakers and 57 Chinese learners participated in the discrimination experiment and identification experiment. The results show that first, there are differences between Korean native speakers and Chinese learners with different proficiency in categorical perception of the intonational cues of focus, which means in terms of the pronunciation which Korean native speakers would not hear as focus, Chinese learners could hear as focus, and the possibility of that is getting higher as the proficiency of learners getting lower. Second, as the perception training should focus on the formation of categorical perception, training perception by natural pronunciation of Korean native speakers is not appropriate. Instead, the stimuli of the boundary of category should be used.
