The purpose of this study is to analyze the consciousness of job site management by the general contractor managers' in Korea. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The highest value of doing in B job-site is 「Drawing check」. Importance (4.0 point), Dependence to knowledge and experience (3.5 point), Time to do work(3.5 point) are highly evaluated. This is common in the site of the framework. 2. In the case of H job-site is 「Drawing check」 and 'Various construction planning and scheduling are highly evaluated. Value of doing and Importance are 3.3 point. This is the meaning of importance of planning on the finish processing. 3. Highly evaluated items of the J job-site is 'Periodical meeting with a subcon.(3.8point)」. This grasps a problem beforehand through the periodical deliberations with a subcon. at the sheathing work. 4. K job-site recognizing value of doing and importance 「Safety ceremony, TBM」is highly(3.8point), compared with knowledge and time.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the actual conditions of the general contractor managers' operating system and the contents of job site management in Korea. The study has been performed by survey, interview and job site research. On this paper I studied the present situation in the job site management. The results of this study are as follows: 1. Average management time rate of the general contractor managers' is 31.0% on indoor-job, 19.6% on meeting, arrangement and briefing, 16.5% on planning and 15.5% on draw up documents. 2. Time rate of the engineering-works engineer is 70.2% on indoor-job, 28.7% on draw up documents, 21.6% on planning, 16.0% on meeting, arrangement and briefing. 3. Time rate of the construction-works engineer is 45.2% on indoor-job, 52.9% on out-door job. The most time rate is 52.3% on the work at site.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the consciousness of specialist contractors foremen in steel construction in Japan and Korea. The study was performed by questionnaire survey in Korea (Aug. 3∼24, 2000) and Japan (Dec. 1, 2000∼Feb. 10, 2001). The results are as follows: 1. The main age group of foremen in Japan is the thirties, with from 6 years to 10 years of working experience and less than 5 years as foreman. 2. The main age group of foremen in Korea is the forties, with from 11 years to 20 years working experience, and from 6 years to 10 years experience as foreman. 3. The licenses of Japanese foremen are related to general and basic skills. 4. Erection work needs, pre-work planning and safety are most difficult matters in each country. 5. The important matters in final tightening work are safety of workers and the relationship with other work.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the actual conditions of the labour management is steel construction in Japan. The study has been performed by job site research and site observation. On this paper I studied the present situation in the job site and to propose man-hour conditions in steel construction. The result of this study are as follows: 1. About 20% of the whole-time working is consists of over-time working. 2. The working time of Erection & Fit-up bolting worker is changes by number of member rather than steel weight. 3. The working time of Final tightening worker is strongly relate with the number of final tightening bolts. This is the result of the stable working-posture and the standard procedure. 4. From 164 to 214 sets of final tightening bolts can be tighten by 8-hour working/day.

Virtual Construction Site System(hereinafter VCSS) provides a construction planning system that allows for the time marching assessment of construction process in virtual reality space prior to actual works in a job site. In this study the comparison between the real picture taken at an actual job site and the virtual images corresponding to them was carried out to estimate validity of the proposed VCSS. Particularly this paper demonstrates the capability of a prototype system by acquisition of the real photo from an actual job site.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the consciousness of the specialist contractors foremen on the steel construction in Korea. The study has been performed by questionnaire survey in Korea during Aug. 3-24,2000. On this paper I studied the difference and the sameness of the steel construction way by contrast of the job-site work in Korea and Japan. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The main age group of the foremen in the steel construction is forties. 2. The importance factors in working are labors safety, correctness of election, working amounts and so forth. 3. The problem factors in working are the delivery of materials, the short of labor, the short of detailed drawings etc.

In this report, when the construction method was selected, the methodology by which an appropriate construction method was selected under a variety of restriction conditions was examined, and the systematization was done by Prolog. The heat combination of construction methods in the construction method of each work which was able to be applied to conditions of the building condition and the design conditions, etc. which had been given by logical modeling was able to be requested. I addition, the possibility of an effective construction method selection system which requested an economical alternative i and the best idea by comparing costs in the construction condition was examined.
