The aim of this study is to find out psychological traits of delinquent girls through the comparison of delinquent girls and normal girls and to put it to practical use as materials for the establishment of correction method or direction of direction of guidance for delinquent girls. The subjects were 300 girls in the regular classes within regular middle and high schools and 90 delinquent girls (from full 13 years old to 19) in a juvenile training school under the control of Ministy of Justice. The tests administered to all subjects are Personality Test, Personal Preference Schedule, Self-concept Sconcept Scale, and Home Environment Scale. The results of this study are summarized as follows; First, delinquent girls have been grown up under more closed, rejecting and heteronomous family environment with emphasis of material-directional and traditional value, compared with normal girls group. Second, delinquent girls regard their parents as rather dominator than colaborators, showing a negative response to their family, compared with normal girls group. Moreover, their family members fail to be united, showing an individualistic tendency. Third, delinquent girls are on a low level of expectation and normal sense, compared with of normal girls. Fourth, delinquent girls have stronger needs for abasement, affiliation, domisnance, emotionality sex and autonomy than normal girls. Fifth, delinquent girls group are inferior to normal girls in sociality (family relation & social relation), emotional stability, adjustment and leadership, etc., showing a pessimitic view. Thus, it is well considered that there is a great difference between delinquent girls and normal girls in home environment and psychological traits. These facts suggest us that we will be able to prevent from of reform misconduct such traits, or improvement of their family environment. Accordingly, it is highly requested that we be done our best to improve competency and qualification standard of parents, teachers and public servenats in charge of guidance for juveniles, in order to prevent from of correct misconduct of delinquent girls
