        강성최적설계기법을 이용한 아웃리거 시스템의 거동특성 및 효율성 평가

        This study presents an effective stiffness-based optimal technique to control quantitatively lateral drift and evaluate the structural behavior characteristics and efficiency for tall outrigger system subject to lateral loads. To this end, displacement sensitivity depending on behavior characteristics of outrigger system is established and approximation concept that preserves the generality of the mathematical programming and can efficiently solve large scale problems is introduced. Specifically, under the 'constant-shape' assumption, resizing technique of member is developed. Four types of 50 story frameworks are presented to illustrate the features of the quantitative lateral drift control technique proposed in this study. 본 연구에서는 횡하중을 받는 아웃리거 시스템의 횡변위를 정량적으로 제어할 수 있는 효율적인 강성최적설계기법을 제시하고, 이를 이용하여 아웃리거 시스템의 거동특성 및 효율성을 평가하고자 한다. 이를 위해 아웃리거를 이용한 고층 구조물의 거동특성을 고려한 민감도 해석을 수행하며, 아울러 수학적계획법의 일반성을 유지하면서도, 큰 규모의 문제도 효율적으로 다룰 수 있는 근사화 개념을 도입하여 구속조건식을 설정한다. 특히 초기에 주어진 단면형상이 최적설계 과정동안 계속 유지된다는 가정을 이용하여 부재재설계 기법을 개발한다. 제시된 정량적인 횡변위 제어 방안의 효용성을 검토하기 위해 네 가지 형태의 50층 고층구조물 예제가 고려된다.

        The Effect of Brief Thyroid Functional Changes on Arterial Stiffness in Patients Who Preparing Radioactive Iodine Administration

        Background and Objectives: Abnormal thyroid function influences the cardiovascular system. In particular, brief thyroid functional change due to levothyroxine (LT4) suppression therapy and withdrawal in papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) patients can affect cardiovascular system and other biochemical markers. However, the effect of brief thyroid functional change on arterial stiffness has not been evaluated. Therefore, we evaluated the changes in arterial stiffness according to short-term thyroid hormone levels in patients who underwent total thyroidectomy and radioactive iodine (RAI) therapy for PTC. Materials and Methods: Patients with PTC (n=17; 15 females, mean age 52 years) who underwent total thyroidectomy and RAI therapy were enrolled in this study. The arterial stiffness was evaluated using the corrected augmentation index for heart rate (AI@75) and brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (BaPWV). Serum thyroid hormone levels and arterial stiffness parameters were checked three times consecutively: the day before thyroidectomy (Visit 1; baseline euthyroid state), after LT4 withdrawal (Visit 2; pre-RAI hypothyroid state) and 4 weeks after RAI (Visit 3; post-RAI thyrotoxic state). Biochemical markers, which can influence the arterial stiffness, were also measured. Results: The heart rate, AI@75 and serum thyroid hormone levels changed significantly at each visit. BaPWV was not significantly changed. Changes in AI@75 correlated with systolic blood pressure (SBP), serum thyroid hormone levels, total cholesterol and high density lipoprotein cholesterol in univariate analysis. In multivariate analysis, SBP was the independent factor for AI@75 changes. Conclusion: These results suggest that brief thyroid functional changes can influence AI@75. And SBP was important factor for AI@75 change.

        This study presents the movable wall panel system to be able to divide effectively the classrooms for the multipurpose use of specific rooms in school building. This panel system is composed of carbon steel squares filled up autoclaved lightweight concrete to obtain the structural safety, durability and fire resistance, compared with the existing sandwich panels. Therefore, this study performs the structural experiments through the various structural capacity tests. To this end, the test models considering the several design variables are established to secure the structural safety of the movable wall panel systems.

      • 강구조물의 구조최적화를 위한 쌍대법의 활용

        This study presents an application of dual method for the optimal design of steel structures considering displacement constraints. Dual method can replace the primary optimization problem with a sequence of approximate explicit subproblems having a simple algebraic structure. Since each subproblems are convex and separable, they can be solved efficiently by using a dual method approach. Specifically, this study introduces the principle of virtual work to obtain the displacement constraint equations with explicit forms and adds the linear regression equation within dual algorithm to reduce the number of design variables. Furthermore, this study considers the discrete optimuzation problem due to the commercial standard steel sections to select member sizes. The results by the proposed method will be compared with those of the conventional optimality criteria method.

        Concurrent Presence of Sjogren’s Syndrome, Warthin Tumor, and MALT Lymphoma in a Parotid Gland and Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis

        A 54-year-old female patient was referred due to a mass in the left salivary gland. A neck CT was performed and surgery was agreed due to a suspected Warthin tumor. The patient was also diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and treated. Warthin tumor and extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma were also diagnosed after parotidectomy. The coexistence of the two autoimmune diseases, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and Sjogren's syndrome, has been reported, as has the coexistence of Warthin tumor and malignant tumor within a single salivary gland. However, these four diseases have not previously been reported in an individual patient. The authors treated a patient who was first diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and subsequently also with Warthin tumor and extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma after superficial parotidectomy. Therefore, this case is reported together with a related literature review.

        첨성대의 축조현황을 고려한 구조적 특성평가

        Cheomseongdae is the masonry stone structure with the cultural and historical values. But, this structure has the various damages such as cracks, gaps, slope variations and ground subsidence. So, the interests for the safety security in the structural parts have been increased. Therefore, this study performs the structural modelling which considers the several damage cases, and then evaluates the structural behavior characteristics through the discrete element analysis. Especially, this study checks the swelling and displacement gap of the whole structure and the separation between the neighboring members.

        Outrigger system provides the lateral resistant capacity for tall buildings subject to lateral loads. This study presents the efficient lateral drift control method considering the locations of outrigger systems by displacement sensitivity analysis. Also, this study considers the optimum design process and several example models to evaluate the location efficiency of the outrigger system.

        The form system as a temporary structure needs many workers and includes many dangerous factors during installation and removal. Therefore, this study presents the permanent wall form system to provide the two functions of form and insulation, and to simplify the installation process without removal works. This wall form panel consists of the double insulation materials and metal connector for the security of safety, insulation and soundproofing. For the field application of this form panel, the safety and serviceability of the form should be secured. To this end, this study evaluates the lateral pressure capacity of the panel through the structural experiments considering actual field conditions.
