At the condition of Full speed engine, The turning circle has been appeared small comparatively than the condition of Trial. 4. When in the 30˚, 15˚, Turning circle of Da, DT has been appeared largely, on the contrast, when in 5˚, The value was dropped remarkably. It is preferable to meet with sufficient allowance in the time of small alteration of course avoiding other vessel.

The authors studied on the modification of the curriculum for the department of fishing technology in Fisheries junior college, by collecting and analyaing the references, questionaires and consultation according to the trends in industry and employment. Especially, rapid develop of the fishing technology with the modernization and automatization of fishing vessels, the present curriculum formulated in 1983 is required to be rearranged. Accordingly, the authors studied on the development of characteristic curriculum which could cultivate the professional fishing engineers. The results obtained can be summarized as follows: 1. Total open credits should be 160 credits. 2. Cultural subjects are set 32credits, 20% of total open credits, but the subjects may be Choosen by the situation of each fisheries junior college. 3. Major subjects are set 128 credits with 36 subjects including the 3rd year course. 4. The proportion of the compulsory to the elective credits in the major subjects are made 1 to 2. 5. Compulsory major subjects are set 29 credits with 11 subjects during the 1st and 2nd year course. Training on the board (I) and (II) are set 40 credits during 3rd year course and evaluated as pass or not. 6. The proportion of the credits of subjects concerning to fishery and navigation is made 1 to 1. 7. In order to strengthen the computation education, the E.D.P.S. is sets 3 credits in the cultural subjects.

The catch by the set net fishery from 1971 to 1985 were ananIyzed in order to reveal its fluctuation characteristics. Generally, the catch increased from 16,787M/T in 1971 to 84,103M/T in 1985 and showed maximum in 1979 with 99.475M/T of catch. This trend was mainly related to the higher production of file fish which accounts for 64% of the total catch in 1979, and the change of catch statistical classificaiton according to the revising of fishery law in 1976. It was also closeIy related to the variation of the sea water temperature in coastal area. The main fishing period of the set net fishery appeared from October to November. Catch of the set net fishery was led by that in the southern coast before 1976 and by that in the eastern coast from 1977 to 1980, the tendency changed irregular from 1981. Three groups of fishes could be distinguished by principal component analysis of the annual catch. A group showing steady decreasing tendency was composed of the fishes such as whiting, sand fish, hair tail and anchovy. The another group composed of small alaska pollack, round herring, goby, gizzard shad, sand lance and file fish revaled an increasing tendency. The other fishes did not show any annual tendency.

In order to develop an effective fishing gear and method for shrimp, Trachypenaeus curvirostis(STIMPSON) which is largely distributed in the western coastal waters of Korea, we made a newly designed experimental fishing gear and a series of fishing operations was carried out in the fishing ground near the Gogunsan Is. from April to November 1983, and evaluated the fishing efficiency of the gear. The results are as follows; I. Catch per unit length(m) of fIoat line is O.24kg for the B type of net which is the best in fishing efficiency and O.19kg in average catch of the three different nets. 2. Catch tends to increase according to the current velocity, and is especially high in 1.1-1.2k'ts in every fishing operation. 3. The highest value of catches with respect to the drift time of the net is shown at 30 minutes of drift when the current velocity is below 1.1~1.2k'ts. While the current velocity is above 1.2k'ts, the catch varies with respect to the driftage of the net(current velocity X drift time); the highest value of catch appeared at O.55~0.60 miles of drift.

This researching work is concerns with the relation between the hooking Sphoides Porphyeus and the baits, upon the materials collected around the area kyongYolbi Do during the fishing season from August through December, 1967. 1. The hooking-rate of Sphoerdes Porphyreus by long line is differed in accordance With the choice of baits. 2. The baits which are expected to show the highest hooking-rate are as follows : As troconger myriaster, and then Cololabis saira, Logis bleeker and Neptunus tritubercnlatu.

I have here researched the range of fishing area and the catches quantities of its speices in each sector in 1977. The results ase as follows. 1.The operation is being done in the west north sector of Auchung Do and Gyung Yul Biyul Do and in the west sector of WI DO. The center of fishing area locates in 172 and 161 sector (36'-37'N and 125'-30'E). 2.The main operation is being done in the west-south of Auchung Do in spring and in autumn and winter in ther west-north of Gyung Yul Biyul Do. 3.B, sector is the main fishing are by 58% of total catches and especialy brings more catches in autumn. 4.Skates Ray and Blue crab are obtained in 172 sector, and the catch ranking of others reaches 52% total catches, and Flounder 11% Blue Crab 10%, Skates Ray 8%, Bastard Halibuts 4%, Shrimp and sole 3%.
