2002한일 월드컵대회와 신문광고디자인의 특성에 관한 연구

During the 2002 Korea- Japan World Cup, most Korean newspapers were covered with flamboyant red, which was the team Korea supporting color, reflecting the culturally open atmosphere of the World Cup period. Red had been a taboo color, but suddenly almost all newspapers were covered with red-colored advertisements and showed big-scale ad space, creative typographies, innovative editing, and colorful ad photos. All these certainly provided good chances to experience new-value-creating newspaper advertisement designs. This paper studies relevant advertisement theories, analyses general characteristics of both the newspapers and the newspaper advertisements during the World Cup period, and examines the design qualities of the advertisements. Since there have been few cases of research on newspaper advertisement designs related with international sports events, this study will provide a new direction for the field. This research will contribute to the establishment of our cultural identity in the ad design field for the coming international sports events. The fundamental goal of this study is on developing the national brand values and the communication design strategy between enterprises and goods.

Pictorial Letters에 關한 硏究

Human-beings have made and used a lot of tools since they came to live on the globe. It seems, however, the most valuable product among them is the language and letters. It's said that the language of today has been made as a kind of code in order to communicate much more complicated feelings and thoughts each other, while men without langnage merely expressed by many kinds of gestures. In uiew of the needs of the collective, social life, the invention of the language was inevitable. The social life, has been developed by the utility of the language. There are, how ever, many demerits of the language; ① as the language is a sound, the spoken sound is temporary and subjects to decay, ② as the sound which can be made by man; has the limitation, there's likewise spatial limits in the spoken language, ③ as the language can be merely once expressed, it's difficult content can't be examined closely, ④ as the language apheals to the ear, it isn't easy to remember it perfectly. But with the invention of letters as visual signs, the possibilities of the expression of thonghts and feelings has made much richer beyond the time and spatial limits. The development of printing also has plaged an important role in the use of letters and evalution of human culture. Letters is a kind of sign, which gives shape to the shapeless language. Such a letters, which is a necessary tool like the language in our daily life, will be in existence and developed as long as human society will be continued, because of human-beings were able to be the lord of all creation through the language, ard further through letters human culture was rapidly developed. Some say, therefore, letters is she representative of a certain society; what is more, it plays the role of paint in a measurement of a society. Letters has the both-sided functions: Lettering and Reading. Nowadays, Reading is more generalized than Lettering. The guartity of letters emerging from mass media, for instance newspapers, magazines, TV, etc., is increasing day after day. Many sorts of communication-vehicle are demanded, naturally, in modern mass-communication era, for the sake of efficient communication of innumerable information. Letters as a sign, which transfers the information, should take significant shape beyond merely letters as a sign, so as to be faithful to its function and promotes the visual, and aesthetical effects to recipients. That is, it's called for up-to-date sensitive funtional printing type and studies of letters, which takes the fresh appeal that is able to arouse everybody's sympathy. In case of Alphabet, design for Type face has remarkably developed because of the number of letters used for the understanding of each other is few and the number of strokes is very concise. Besides, the level of interest in the shape of a character and studies of Pictorial Letters is so high that effective and well-directed type is applicated in publications and any kinds of media. It's said that letters is the representative of a certain society and the point of the survey of a society, however, Han-Gul is naturally the representative of our current society. We have failed to overcome the difficult in the field of moulding and funtion of Han-Gul. From now on, we should expand the field of interest and research of letter-design, so that Han-Gul can be letters as the representative and the vehicle of a measurement of our community.

시내버스의 외장디자인과 도색에 관한 연구 : 부산시를 중심으로

As the cities grow bigger, ite importance of the metropolitan buses as the mass transportation facilities grow bigger. Nowaday buses are indispensable part of a city life and the need of the adequate traffic signs as the mass communication is recognized generally as the specialization of the modern city life. Buses are so to speak a kind of environmental elements that can cause the fundamental change of the time-space dimension of the city environment. In this respects, metropolitan buses and the traffic signs have some influence on the consciousness and behavior of city inhabitants. So the research and probe of them in the human engineering respect is important for the establishment of the visual communication identity as well as for the improvement of the quality of the city environment. Asian Game in 1986 and Seoul Olympic in 1988, especially require the improvement of city environment. In this respect, this research tries to give the basic data and help the practical improvement activities. This research deals with 97 bus lines in Busan metropolitan area. The contents of the research are: First, the survey of the present status of the buses in Pusan metropolitan area and analysis of the basic data. For this purpose, tables are produced based on the photos and practical measurements of the buses. Secondly, the investigation of the passengers consciousness and drawing out the problems to be solved or improved. Then suggestion of the possible solutions in the human engineering respect. Colour are given in accordance with the Munsell colour system based on the JIS table. This thesis proposes 1. The modulation of Hankul(Korean) Letters English Letters and Arabic Numbers; 2. Lettering; 3. Colouring; 4. Stripes of the buses with the purpose of 1. the standardizition of the bus line number and letters; 2. the speedy identification of the bus lines by the differentiation of the colors for the passengers convenience sake; 3. making of the comfortable and elegant city environment though the selection of the chic and modern design and colourso of the buses instead of the monotonous and sombre ones; 4. improvement of the visual communication function with regard to the foreign passengers through the introduction of the standardized visual images; 5. the presentation of the basic data for the more systematic and reasonable policies of the city authorities, especially concerning the visual design and traffic signs.

관공서 CI : 부산시 구청의 심벌마크 분석연구를 중심으로

Recently, a design boom of public & government offices being on, we are absorbed in CI production competitively in the country. This boom appears that recognition of importance of public & government offices image control becomes grow. That thesis was progressed with the object to study shapes of symbol marks. On the basis to examine CI examples of some foreign cities and ward offices in Seoul, symbol marks of 16 ward offices in Pusan was classified into five types and analyzed intensely through records study and on-the-spot surveys. Consequently, problems of symbol marks now in use were pointed, and reform measures were presented for solving these problems.

廣告의 레이아웃과 構成原理

The layout process in advertising design has recently been embossed as the whole of living information, making linguistic forms of words and images as the final control work of advertising expression. In such a current situation, it is highly demanded that competent graphic designers are necessary for developing effective visual language, and also required that the design work of the staffs connected with the production of advertisement should be understood profoundly. Before the nineteen eighties in which the market situation was drab, the purpose of advertisement could be attained even by the messages which could prove the feeling of satisfaction from the using of manufactured articles, simply positioning the manufactured articles or contents of service through the names of goods or images. But in the market situation in which consciousness and a value system are rapidly changing by recent waves of democratization, internationalization, and opening, we cannot overcome the aggravated, competitive markdting situation simply by the formaer stale, old-fashioned expression. The graphic designers and art directors, displaying the producing powers through overcoming a complicated situation, can reach the goal by fully understanding the market strategy and advertising goal, accepting this theoretically, and sythesizing compound expressing technique. This thesis aims at studying the constituent principle of layout on the basis of existing advertisements both at home and abroad which can be hepled in understanding expression work by the people such as advertisers, agents, and producers connected with advertising design.

포토·테크��에 의한 한글 레터링 연구

Despite the social request for the urgent development of industrial arts no remarkable study of lettering designs, which should be the basis of the design field have been recognized. This is nothing but an aspect of deformed reality; particularly it is said too late that we have only recently come to discuss the photo technique study of Mangle, Korean alphabets, which have a long history and tradition. It is natural to speed the language delivery through human vision that is changing and developing again and again intentionally or non-intentionally, in order to meet the realsiticure with its excell ent technology, in the mechanical civilization of today. In consideration of such points we can hardly deny that it is fortunate to finish this kind of article, overcoming the unfavorable conditions. PR0BLEMS DISCLOSED UPON THE RESULT FROM THIS STUDY 1) The double consonants of Hangul particularly used to support vowels should be produced in the rangeso as not to destroy the original sense of the letter(Examples: Hen( ), Soil( ), Moving( ), etc. ) 2) Original letters can be destroyed if too much technique is used. 3) Photographing should be made in consideration of the possible effect to be(achieved)by thy letter style(Gothic, Myung-Jo, etc.) TASKS TO D0 AS THE FUTURE STUDY 1) The study of photo technique should net be restricted only to letters, but be expanded even to illustrations. 2) Problems to produce color at the same time. 3) Problems not to restrict the letter style to Gothic, but to apply it variously to Myung-Jo style, Yeseo style, etc.

Typography의 Pictorial Letter的 表現과 造形的 特徵에 關한 硏究

We, who are living in the age of information when the image media is rapidly progressing, are quired to adapt ourselves to multi-media. At a point of time that letter is changing from reading to seeing, a study on diversity and formation of letter is keenly required. In this study, among the folk paintings, the portions related to its pattern, expressing technique and formation are observed centered on pictorial letter, and also the application of letter appearing on the paintings in the West is studied. Also, this study aimed to analyze the operating method of letter which is applied on the advertising media among modern mass media, and the sample of the actual works as its object.

교회 CI, 교회 심볼마크 분석연구를 중심으로

There are many religious organizations around us. The church, which is the nearest to modern people among them, makes not only a Christian but also non-Christian meet with Christian culture directly or indirectly. Now, it is important to the church internally that how ministers preach the gospel and approach closer to people who don't know the gospel. It would be a important key word to lead the 21c, the information-oriented age, properly that the church known to be more conservative than any other religious body improves the way to approach resolutely. First of all, it's be required to establish the identity of the church. And then, the construction of the 'CI'(church identity) should be preceded. The study of church symbol design, which plays a key role in introducing the 'CI', is being regarded as of great importance. This study shows the desirable direction in the construction of 'CI' and the production of symbol mark for the future with analyzing the present condition of symbol mark of Korean church, based on formative arts. This study would not be enough to cover the whole field of visual identity. But with this as a start, it is expected to be more studies actively.

21세기를 대비한 김해공항의 환경디자인 계획

As Pusan City is a sightseeing city and Asian game and World-Cup game in 2002 will be held in Pusan, the international reputation for Pusan city is rising now In consequence, it is probably expected that many foreign people as well as domestic people will vist Pusan city in 2002 or thereabouts. The visitors, for the most part, make use of the Kimhae airport, so it can be said that kimhae airport is the face of pusan city and its role and function are very important. Nevertheless, many efforts to reform the environment of Kimhae airport have been performed, there still are many underdeveloped factors concering the environmental production. In particular, Visual Signs in Kimhae airport are very in convenient in respect that the Visual Signs is the communication mean which is most frequently used between passengers and airport. There fore, as the importance of Visual Sign with the images of Pusan city is increasing now, I would say that the improvement and supplement on Visual Sign in Kimhae airport are essential in order to communicate effectively with passengers.
