Time headway distribution that consists of the levels of traffic flow shows different pattern. Time headwsay has generally great value on the free flow, otherwise a large number of vehicles travel in minimum time hadway as far as possible on the congestion flow. These facts are investigated on time headway distribution, therefore this study is executed to define suitable distribution for each levels of traffic flow. The results of analysis with measured time headway, Pearson TypeⅢ Distribution is suitable for free flow - traffic volumes are 20~39(veh/2min), and Log-normal Distribution is suitable for congestion flow - traffic volumes are 40~69(veh/2min).

The signal operating plan must be established by the relationship between arrival volume and capacity at signalized intersections. In non-congestion state minimize the cycle and the green time shared by portion of arrival volume of each approach. In over-saturated state minimize queue length by phase is very important. So this study developed simulation model under these basic concepts. Optimal green time was decided according to traffic volume changes. And optimal cycle was selected as minimum surplus green time. Queue dissipated time and average delay time was used as evaluating index. Developed model in this study revealed useful and has high accuracy by comparing T7F model and observation value.

This study attempt to analyze platoon that is generated by increment of traffic volume on uninterrupted flow of provincial road. It is the critical headway on traffic flow that is analyzed by surveying headway and travel time according to arriving vehicles. Moreover, find out the critical headway at platoon is formed and propose correlation model on space mean speed. The consequences of this study can optimize road operation by the proposal of the relation between critical headway and space mean speed, and can apply to establish the plan of maximizing traffic capacity.

For the purpose of calculation for capacity of signal intersection, we should analyze saturation flow rate on each movements. The method of calculation for a saturation flow rate that is proposed from HCM is difficult to deal because calculates so many adjustment factors. Therefore this study proposes 4 methods that calculate saturation flow rate simply. The proposed methods are the method on regression model, the method on saturation headway, and supplements the methods that consider rate of heavy vehicles or not. At last this study compares the results on 4 methods through case study.

도로를 통행하는 차량은 도로 위에 어떤 형태로든 흔적을 남긴다. 특히, 비상시에 나타난 흔적은 당시의 차량 행태를 해석하는데 있어 아주 중요한 단서가 된다. 흔적을 대개 3가지 형태로 구분하면 스키드마크와 스카프마크, 프린트마크가 있다. 스키드마크는 우리가 흔히 볼 수 있는데, 구르던 차량의 바퀴가 잠길(Locking)때 도로상에 미끄러지면서 나타나는 타이어 흔적이다. 급제동과 관련된 현상인데, 운전자의 운전특성, 도로 및 차량의 상태, 타이어의 공기압에 따라 다르게 나타난다.

The behavior characteristics of leading car and following car must to be considered safety in the platoon. However, there has been the analysis of traffic stream which has been dealt with phenomenon without considering this conception. Therefore, it always contains the possibility of rear-end collisions in theory and the stability is decreased. The purpose of this study is to develop the model of safe distance headway to clean up the possibility of rear-end collision and to develope the traffic stream models of relation between flow and speed and between density and speed.
딜레마 區間의 解消를 爲한 適正 黃信號時間 算定에 關한 硏究

The signal intersection in the downtown has advantage in processing complex multi-directional traffic flows by giving them green one after another. But inefficient signal operation system reduces the capacity of that, and is apt to cause traffic accidents. Therefore, it is very important to optimize the signal operation system in signal intersection, and yellow time optimization, one of those optimization, can have great effect on reducing the possibility of traffic accidents. Short yellow time causes Dilemma zone, which is major factor of traffic accidents. In this study, as a case study to improve this phenomena, we analyzed the vehicle stop pattern at the beginning of yellow time from two approaches in two intersections. From that, we caculate the Dilemma zone of approaches, and estimated optimal yellow time to dismiss the Dilemma zone using speed, deceleration, crossing distance in the intersection.
