Effects of Hydrogen on the Magnetic Properties of TiZrNi Quasicrystals

The magnetic properties of hydrogenated metastable TiZrNi quasicrystals and their structures were studied. After hydrogenation, the quasi-lattice constants uniformly increased from 5.12 to 5.40 Å with a narrower peak width in X-ray diffraction, suggesting that hydrogen atoms diffuse homogeneously in different pieces of the metallic ribbon samples. The magnetization values measured by using a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) revealed that the magnetic susceptibilities of the hydrogenated quasicrystals strongly depended on the temperature so that the enhanced magnetic coercivities at low temperatures (<9 K) were the result of a combination of hydrogen and temperature while the reduced magnetization values at temperatures above 9 K were attributed to the structural factor rather than the temperature. In fact, hydrogen contributes to the significant decrease in the magnetization values from 0.0236 to 0.0163 emu/g at room temperature. The reasons for the decreased magnetization after hydrogenation are understood to be the reduced interactions of magnetic moments between Ni atoms induced by the lattice expansion after hydrogen absorption.
레이저빔 가공 인자에 따른 구리도금 미세 패터닝 특성 연구

This paper proposes a fabrication process of deposited layer with micro patterns that uses a combination of a pulsed laser beam machining and an electrodeposition. This process consists of the electrodeposition and the laser beam machining. The deposited layer on metal can be selectively eliminated by laser ablation. As a result, the deposited layer with micro patterns can be fabricated without a mask. The characteristics of the deposited layer on stainless steel were investigated according to the average power and marking speed in the pulsed laser beam machining. The optimal laser beam conditions for precise micro patterning of the deposited layer were determined. Finally, the deposited copper layer with micro text was successfully fabricated by the pulsed laser beam machining.

Micro fabrication technologies of aluminium have been required to satisfy many demands in technology fields. Pulsed laser beam machining can be an alternative method to accomplish the micro machining of aluminium. Pulsed laser beam can be applied to micro machining such as micro drilling and milling. Using pulsed laser beam, the machining characteristics of aluminium in micro drilling and milling were investigated according to average power, repetition rate, moving speed of spot. The laser beam machining with the optimal conditions can achieve precise micro figures. As a result, micro pattern, text and structures on aluminium surface was successfully fabricated by pulsed laser beam machining.

Distributed Artificial Intelligence (DAI) is a relatively new paradigm in which intelligent agents cooperate to provide better performance and functionality. Some recent studies demonstrated the utility of the speech-act theory as a general model of the agents' interactions. In this paper, a DAI shell is presented in the form of a rule-based expert system with a set of interfaces which is capable of talking in a speech-act inter-agent communication language.
