Classical method calculates the resonance frequency of Helmholtz resonator by postulating that there is a moving mass in neck and a stiffness which expresses the compressibility of cavity. This has been widely accepted as reasonable to determine the resonant frequency, provided that the wave length of interest is longer that any length scale of resonater. Nevertheless, it has been often recognized that this classical method sometimes does not well predict the resonant frequency. This paper decribes the way in which the dynamics of resonator very often does care about the detail geometries of resonator; location of the neck, diameter ratio of the neck to that of cavitty, length of resonator compared with that of neck, etc. This rather unexpected observations have been proved theoretically; 3 dimensional analysis of acoustic wave equation, as well as experimentally by comparing the resonant frequencies, transmission loss, and insertion loss of resonator.
투과증발법을 이용한 폐수중의 미량 유기염소계 화합물의 제저

인체에 해를 일으키는 유기염소계 탄화수소화합물로 오염된 폐수 및 음용수에서 미량의 유기성분을 분리하기 위하여 투과증발법에 의한 정수를 여러가지 막을 사용하여 살펴보았다. 유기염소계 탄화수소 화합물들은 발암성 추정물질들로서 미량이 체내에 있어도 암을 유발시킬 가능성이 있다. 물속에 미량 녹아 있는 유기염소계 화합물들을 분리하기 위해 본 실험에서는 물은 배제시키고 유기용제에 대해서는 친화성을 가질 것으로 예측되는 소수성 고무상 막인 폴리이소부틸렌막, 폴리에테르아미드막 및 폴리디메틸실록산 복합막을 사용하였다. 이들 막의 분리 대상용질에 대한 친화성 여부를 접촉각을 측정하여 검토하였다. 투과증발법을 사용하여 물에 미량 녹아 있는 트리크로로에틸렌, 클로로포름 및 퍼클로로에틸렌에 대한 분리를 실시한 결과, 분리 선택도가 최소 34에서 최대 19100의 값을 나타내었으며, 투과유량은 최소 19.7g/m2hr에서 최대 140g/m2hr의 우수한 결과를 얻었다 This study uses pervaporation process to separate small amount of organic trichloroethylene, chloroform and perchloroethylene from contaminated water, since chlorinated hydrocarbones are known to be cancer suspecting compounds. For the separation of small amount of halogenated organic compound dissolved in wastewater, pervaporation membranes should be polymers that possess affinity with orgnic compounds and hydrophobicity. We used polyisobutylene, polyetheramide and polydimethylsiloxane membranes. The degree of affinity between organics and polymers were measured by contact angle method. We had good separation results that separation factor ranged from 34 to 19100 and permeate flux was 19.7~140g/m2hr.
Proteus sp . ST-1에 의한 Azo계 색소의 분해에 관한 연구

Direct Sky Blue-5B is an Azo dye known as general for staining of textile and leather, etc., and as materials which are difficult to be biodegraded in nature. The bacterium strain which could degrade direct Sky Blue-5B was isolated from activated sludge of dyeing factory and identified as Proteus sp. by experiment on morphological, cultural and biochemical characteristics, and so named Proteus sp. ST-1. The optimum condition of the strain for degradation of Sky Blue-5B were at about 35℃ and pH 7∼8. The strain had been capable of degradation with organic nitrogen effectively and had completely degraded 200㎎/ℓ of the dye within 12hrs at 37℃. The enzyme system related to degradation of Azo dye may be intracellular, and so degraded the dye after absorption into cell. The degradation products of Sky Blue-5B by Proteus sp. ST-1 were analyzed by Gas Chromatography /Mass Spectrometry and Spectrophotomer, from this observation, it may be infered that the strain degraded the dye directly without any mediate.
