This paper discusses the service life prediction methods for CFRP bar for concrete reinforcement using accelerated degradation tests. The relationship between performance degradation and the rate of a failure-causing chemical reaction is assumed for the temperature accelerated degradation tests. Methods of obtaining acceleration factors and predicting service life of the CFRP bar using the degradation model are presented.

Analysis and estimation methods of automobile components reliability using regular inspection data are proposed. Some failures such as small amount of oil leakage, abnormal wear, corrosion, etc., could not be recognized by the users and they could be detected only through systematic inspection. Maximum likelihood estimation methods are used to estimate the failure rate of components from 3-year regular inspection data and examples for illustrating the use of the proposed estimation methods are provided.

A few types of multipipixel Geiger-mode avalanche photodiodes (also referred to as silicon photomultipliers SiPMs) are irradiated with 1 to 2.5 MeV γ’s and electrons. We characterize radiation damage effects appearing in the reverse bias current, the dark current and count rate, the pixel gain, and the photon detection efficiency of the devices. An interesting observation on the dark current and count rate is made and linked to the specific damage caused by the irradiation.

The current trend of the environment of enterprise information system is "Intranet" that exchanges the business information more quickly and conveniently based on Internet technology. One enterprise uses several database systems differently, the interfaces and the associated applications programs different are not identical, thus slows down effectiveness of the system. In this paper, we propose the method of intercommunicating the web and multi-database and a improved query processing technique to solve those problems.
