In this thesis, we researched the thought in Gosan Yun Seon-do’s Sijo to appreciate his works entirely. After we looked into his life, looked around the situation of his time, and observed the characteristics of his literary works, the thought which was appeared in his Sijo could be summarized as follows: First, his life was full of ups and downs with his intense patriotism during his life 85 years. He had troubles both at home and abroad, such as invasions, party disputes. He went into exile, entered government office, and retired from the world. Second, his trend of ideology was based on Confucian ideas. He accepted various ideas, such as Taoism, Buddhism, Shamanism. He considered that the government and the nature were the same thing. He inclined the love for king through his life. Third, his literature took root in confucian and moral ethics. He thought that the literature was the means of instruction and special purpose. His view of nature and music was based on Confucian morality. Fourth, most of his Sijo included the contents of instruction, admonition, and patriotism to realize confucian idea containing royalty and filial piety. We showed the trend of Gosan Yun Seon-do’s thought in his Sijo through his life idea, literature, nature, and music. We think that it deserves to help the investigation of Gosan literature and we look forward to study his works con tinually in various point of view.

Yung-Rang's poem hadn't been fairly estimated until before Korean Liberation but after that it began to be studied in earnest by Suh Jung-Ju. Nowadays the arragement of meterials on Yung-Rang as well as analystic estimation of his poem itself has been actively cultivating. However as almost all of them were mainly centred upon forms with rhythm or limited on the discussion of serveral works, I divided his poems into 3 parts and observed them which are the side of content, the side of style and the side of creation of poem-worlds. 1. Yung-Rang's opem which were conceived on a dimention of "My Mind" along with the deep affection of nature and the euthusiastic humanism revtalized the characteristics of pure words of our language. 2. On the side of stylistic form, he would write the form of short opem such as four-line opem and bore the musical effect with using 3 or 4 syllables in accordance with poetic breathing. 3. Yung-Rang's poem is far thourghtly from the sociality and purposive conscience, however, through purification of the gem of a word he used a lot of coined words and onomatopoeias and he revived effectively the love for home province with the Chon Ra Do dialects. 4. As he lay great emphasis on the delicate musical effects of poem, He has been Known as a representative of pure opem which has the symbolic subtle beauty. 5. The Present address of Yung-Rang's poem has been found in the neighbors of home town and it earnestly makes an appeal to the beautiful sciene of garden and the life feeling of simple villagesrs.

In the newly discovered collected poetry, Shisang, 95 "Gwache-shi" are transcribed. Among them, 18 poems are known as the works of Kim, Byeong-yeon. Because 6 poems have already been published in Kimripshijip, 12 poems could be regarded as newly discovered ones. Kim, Byeong-yeon's "Gwache-shi" are 231 in all: 208 of them were discovered by Lee, Eung-soo, 11 by Gu, Sahoe, and 12 by the researcher. It is highly reliable that the newly discovered 12 "Gwache-shi" are the works of Kim, Byeong-yeon, on account of their similar atmosphere to general Chinese poems. In comparison to other "Gwache-shi", they can be useful materials to illuminate the philosophies and social conditions of his contemporaries.
