      • 科學科 學習指導 方法의 改善을 爲한 實驗 硏究 : 中學校 2學年을 中心으로

        The purpose of this study is to improve students, ability in the pursance of scientific knowledge through the inquiry process and to investigate a number of solutions of the problems in teaching this subject to middle school students. The problems to be investigated in this study are as follows: 1. to classify and applicate the learning subject according to the inquiry process models and to solve the problems in appplication of these models. 2. to correct the educational deficieneces incurred in the coures of learning. The students selected for this study were ten classes of the second year in Busan Young-do Girls' Middle school. and the period was for one year (1977.1.1-1978.2.24.) According to the result received, the gap of the before and after absolute standard achievement tests of Korean Testing Center shows a very considerable change in the level p<.001 in improving the students' ability in the pursuance of scientrfic knowledge and the achievement level in the results of monthly tests was raised from the of 55. 4 in April to the average of 77.4 in Decmber, a mastery students (who received a score more than eighty)from 15.3 percent in April to 30.3 percent in December. Both scientific knowledge and comprehension and inquiring ability were improved. Scientific attitude was improved month by month, the number of the students who disliked this subject decreased and the number of the students who were interested in this subject remarkably increased. So it shows that the application of the inquiry process models was effective in improving scientific ability. It was possible to decrease the number of the non-mastery students(who received a score of 60 or less)from 31.4 percent(189 students)in April to 13.1percent(79 students) in December by devising and practicing the correcting instructional system. But it is necessary to study the models constantly in order to help slow students. The attendant result from this study is that it is possible to present solutions to a certain degree about the problems negatively presented in teaching and learning; time cost, the experiment contents, materials and the experiments unable to be finished in forty five minutes. etc. The attendant result from this study is that it is possible to present solutions to a certain degree about the problems negatively presented in teaching and learning; time cost, the experiment contents, materials and the experiments unable to be finished in forty five minutes, etc. But in order to be easily practiced the inquiry method in teaching and learning and achieve the purposes of science education efficiently, these following suggestions should be considered: 1. The institutional change for decreasing the work load of science teachers. 2. The publication of teacher's guides for them published by the textbook complication comittee. 3. The development of correct and solid experimental apparatus and the operation of a official approval system on the apparatus. 4. Increasing the expense for practicing experiment, etc. Those who have authority for the education of all students should seriously consider these suggestions.
