This study was performed to offer the basic data on water quality management of special stream section in which lots of pollutant flow. Simplified method of calculating the maximum allowable BOD concentration as to D.O level to be maintained to the minimum within the stream section was presented in this paper. The calculation procedure of maximum allowable BOD in the stream is as follow: 1. Determine object stream section and minimum D.O level. 2. Investigate water quality and hydraulic data on the object stream. 3. Calculation the maximum allowable BOD through repeated computter simulation using D.O model
天然 Zeolite를 利用한 糞尿酸化液의 色度除去에 관한 硏究

The purpose of this study was to investigate the removal of color from oxidized liquor of nightsoil using natural zeolite. For this study, experimental operation was carried out to find the effect of color removal through a batch and a column test. It was performed by isotherm adsorption and adsorption velocity test with different concentrations of color and pH values as a batch test, and was investigated about the removal efficiency of color, filtering samples through zeolite column as a column test. Results of this study were summarized as follows: 1.Adsorption amounts of color per unit weight of zeolite were increased with the con-centration of color, and isotherm adsorption was well fitted by the Freundlich isotherm equation. 2.Removal efficiency of color by pH values was improved by the decrease of pH values, and the optimum range of pH was considered to be pH 1-3. 3.Adsorption by time lapse was rapidly increased in the first 20 and 30 minutes, and was almost attained to equilibrium state within 3 and 12 hours after contacting zeolite with samples at 200 and 22,600 color units, respectively. 4.As the results of column test, samples adjusted to pH 3.0 showed higher removal ef-giciencies than others not adjusted to pH value, and high concentration of color showed better initial removal efficiency than low concentration under the same pH value.

As livestock wastewater contains much quantity of organic matters such as BOD , TN, TP, and livestock feeders are lack of recognition of its treatment livestock wastewater has always influenced on water pollution. Especially, stormwater runoff effluented from feedlot affects much more water quality of neignbouring water body than other pollution sources. Characteristics of livestock wastewater are generally varied with a kinds of livestock and feed, feedlot operation and hydrological condition. This study was performed to invest the characteristics of livestock wastewater runoff dividing into dry and rainy season through related literature and field survey.

Urban stormwater runoff has generally been considered as one of the major pollutants of receiving water bodies in urban stream. Therefore nonpoint sources such as urban stormwater runoff as well as point sources of pollution must be controlled in order to meet national water quality management criteria. This study was performed to characterize the urban stormwater runoff as to investigate the water flowrate and qualities of the combined sewer overflow(CSO) both on wet and on dry weather. One combined sewer site of 1.3km^2 of urban watershed in DongGu, Taejon city was surveyed. Samples were analyzed for pH, DO, specific conductivity, turbidity, COD_cr, SS, VSS, nitrite, nitrate, total Kjeldahl nitrogen(TKN), TN, Orthophosphate, TP, MBAS, n-Hexane extracts, Pb, Cu, and Fe. The characterization on CSO was done by analyzing surveying data and by comparing pollutographs, loadographs, and dry/wet weather runoff load. When comparing wet runoff loads with dry pollutant loads for this study period, the wet load of TP and SS were estimated to be 4 and 43 times greater than the dry loads of TP and SS in CSO, respectively.
