PURPOSES : This study is to develop an comprehensive validation methodology for autonomous mobility-on-demand system with level 4 automated driving system. METHODS : The proposed method includes the quantitative techniques for validating both automated driving system and center system using each optimal indicators. In addition, a novel method for validating the whole system applying multi-criteria decision methodology is suggested. RESULTS : The relative weights for the vehicle system was higher than the center systems. Moreover, the relative weights of failure rate for validating the vehicle system was the highest, in addition to, a relative weight for accuracy of dynamic routing algorithm within center system was the highest. CONCLUSIONS : The proposed methodology will be applicable to validate the autonomous mobility on demand system quantitatively considering the relative weights for each systems.

Introduction: We evaluated effectiveness of cerebral regional oxygen saturation (rSO2) measured during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in predicting the return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients. Material & Methods: We applied cerebral oxymetry to OHCA patients as soon as possible after hospital arrival, and continuously measured cerebral rSO2 until either CPR was terminated or sustained ROSC was achieved. Results: During the study period, 52 OHCA patients were included in this study. Among these patients, 13 patients achieved sustained ROSC, and 39 patients failed to achieve sustained ROSC. Most highest rSO2 value measured during CPR was higher in the ROSC group than non-ROSC group (mean [±SD] 58.15±21.82% vs. 38.41±25.99%, p=0.017). The highest rSO2 value had moderate ability to discriminate non-ROSC from ROSC (optimal cutoff value: 26%; sensitivity: 53.85%; specificity: 92.31%; AUC: 0.743). Until termination of CPR, 14 patients whose rSO2 value did not increase above 18%, could not achieve sustained ROSC. Conclusion: Cerebral oxymetry may have a role as an ancillary indicator during cardiac arrest. Especially in cases rSO2 value did not increase above 18%, no patients achieved sustained ROSC. But it alone is not enough to determine termination of resuscitation effort.
Compartment Syndrome Induced by Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning is the most commoncause of fatal poisoning in the United States and may bethe most common worldwide cause of fatal poisoning. COpoisoning can affect the entire body and usually causesneurologic or cardiac injury. While not common, rhabdomyolysis,skeletal muscle necrosis, and renal failure can alsooccur. We report on a suicidal 22-year-old man who inhaledCO gas from a burning briquette. His case was complicatedby compartment syndrome (CS). Finally, he had to undergofasciotomy and removal of necrotic muscle. A CO poisonedpatient who is unconscious cannot describe symptoms andmoderate swelling or tenderness might be neglected. Though CS rarely appears in CO poisoning, delayed diagnosismay result in fatal consequences. Therefore, in thecase of an unconscious patient, the entire body must beexamined closely to identify early signs related to CS (tenderness,swelling, redness). If the diagnosis is uncertainafter the clinical evaluation, the pressure within the compartmentshould be measured.

Background and Objectives: We compared the efficacy and safety of valsartan and rosuvastatin combination therapy with each treatment alone in hypercholesterolemic hypertensive patients. Subjects and Methods: Patients who met inclusion criteria were randomized to receive 1 of the following 2-month drug regimens: valsartan 160 mg plus rosuvastatin 20 mg, valsartan 160 mg plus placebo, or rosuvastatin 20 mg plus placebo. The primary efficacy variables were change in sitting diastolic blood pressure (sitDBP) and sitting systolic blood pressure (sitSBP), and percentage change in low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) in the combination, valsartan, and rosuvastatin groups. Adverse events (AEs) during the study were analyzed. Results: A total of 354 patients were screened and 123 of them were finally randomized. Changes of sitDBP by least squares mean (LSM) were -11.1, -7.2, and -3.6 mm Hg, respectively, and was greater in the combination, as compared to both valsartan (p=0.02) and rosuvastatin (p<0.001). Changes of sitSBP by LSM were -13.2, -10.8, and -4.9 mm Hg, and was greater in the combination, as compared to rosuvastatin (p=0.006) and not valsartan (p=0.42). Percentage changes of LDL-C by LSM were -52, -4, and -47% in each group, and was greater in the combination, as compared to valsartan (p<0.001), similar to rosuvastatin (p=0.16). Most AEs were mild and resolved by the end of the study. Conclusion: Combination treatment with valsartan and rosuvastatin exhibited an additive blood pressure-lowering effect with acceptable tolerability, as compared to valsartan monotherapy. Its lipid lowering effect was similar to rosuvatatin monotherapy.

운전자의 생체신호를 측정하는 방법은 신체에 부착하거나 착용하는 센서와 신체의 움직임을 관측하는 비전 기반의 별도장치를 통해 가용하기 때문에 측정시기와 방법에 따라 제약이 따른다. 또한, 운전자의 신체적・정신적 상태는 주행환경, 날씨, 동승자의 유무 등 외부 요인에 따라 측정 데이터에 노이즈가 발생할 가능성이 높다. 본 연구의 목적은 생체신호 중 뇌파를 이용하여 졸음위험 구간 및 주행심리상태 이상구간을 판단하고 운전자의 주행특성을 직접적으로 반영하는 차량거동 형상벡터(Vehicle Maneuvering Feature Vectors)를 도출하여 운전자 졸음 및 주행심리상태 평가지표를 개발하는 것이다. 뇌파는 졸음과 관련된 세타파와 주행심리상태와 관련된 베타파를 측정하였고, 주행특성 분석지표를 이용하여 이상구간에서 뇌파의 변화를 나타내는 차량거동 형상벡터를 정의하였다. 졸음 및 주행심리상태 이상구간과 정상구간을 종속변수로 설정하고 차량거동 형상벡터를 독립변수로 하여 이항 로지스틱 회귀분석을 이용해 이상구간을 분류하는 모형을 도출하였다.

Purpose: In patients resuscitated from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), the influences of serial serum glucose and variability on neurological outcome are not well understood. We investigated the influence of serum glucose and variability on neurological outcome in OHCA survivors. Methods: Records of 105 OHCA survivors who received therapeutic hypothermia (TH) between April, 2007 and January, 2010 were retrospectively reviewed. By neurological prognosis at 6 months after restoration of spontaneous circulation, patients were divided to two groups based on cerebral performance category (CPC) score; 1-2 (good)and 3-5 (poor). The serial measured glucose level and glucose variability during 72 hours were compared between the groups. Results: The poor CPC group had statistically higher mean, median and maximum glucose level, but not minimal glucose, compared to the good CPC group. The poor CPC group also comparatively displayed higher standard deviation and time-glucose variability index (TGVI) of glucose level during 72 hours. Multiple logistic regression demonstrated that increased TGVI was significantly associated with poor neurological outcome (odds ratio 1.304, 95% confidence interval 1.078-1.578)Conclusion: Serial glucose level and variability are strongly related with neurological outcome in post-resuscitated patients who received TH after OHCA. Further randomized controlled studies are needed

For an odd prime p and integer n, m and k such that n=(2m+1)ㆍk, a new family of p-ary sequences of period p$^{n}$ -1 with optimal correlation property is constructed using the p-ary Helleseth-Gong sequences with ideal autocorrelation, where the size of the sequence family is p$^{n}$ . That is, the maximum nontrivial correlation value R$_{max}$ of all pairs of distinct sequences in the family does not exceed p$^{n}$ 2/ +1, which means the optimal correlation property in terms of Welch's lower bound. It is also derived that the linear span of the sequences in the family is (m+2)ㆍn except for the m-sequence in the family.
