In electron microscopic studies of lymphatic capillaries from the rat ovary by Chung (1976) and of the lymphatic sinuses from the rat submandibular lymphnodes by Choi and Pak (1977) some of the lining cells of the lymphatic capillary in corpus luteum and stroma of the rat ovary, and the lining cells of the lymphatic sinuses of the rat submandibular lymphnodes were reported that they were occasionally less electron dense in the cytoplasm of the endothelia rather than those of the ordinary neighbouring endothelia and connected with a tight junction each other. Incidentally the authors found the less electron dense endothelia among the ordinary lining endothelia of the blood capiiary in the submandibular lymphnodes of the rat as well. The less electron dense endothelia of the blood capillary might be less in frequency than that of the ordinary endothelia of the blood capillary in the submandibular lymphnodes of the rat. In distribution and structures of cell organelles, the less electron dense endothelia of the blood capillary of the submandibular nodes of the rat were probably similar to those of the lymphatic sinuses. Consequentlly the less electron dense endothelia in the rat submandibular lymphnodes were probably considered to be a similar kind of the endothelia in the lymphatic sinuses of the rat ondes.

The teratological effects of acute maternal carbon monoxide (750 ppm, for three days, 7, 8, and 9th day of gestation, 3 hours/day) exposure upon the fetal albino rats have been studied. The following results were obtained: 1) A close correlation was noted between the carbon monoxide exposure and the pregnancy wastage (absorption, stillbirth and anomalies) of the albino rats. 2) A significant depression of the body weight development appeared in those fetuses who had been exposure to carbon monoxide. The crown-rump length also seemed to be affected by the exposure although the difference was not statistically significant.

개구리(Rana temperaria) 상피조직의 세포간 접착부위를 전자현미경으로 관찰하였다. 새로운 절편방법을 시도하여 동 부위의 초미세구조를 밝혔으며, 세가지 세포간간 접착방법중 하나인 데스모솜(Desmosome)은 상피세포 원형질막을 따라 절서있고 빈번하게 배열되어 있음을 처음으로 밝혀냈다. 본 연구 및 관찰결과와 관련하여 피부 암세포의 성장기 전 과의 관계를 논의하였다. Electron microscopy on the skin of young frogs, Rana temporaria, has been carried out with particular reference to cellular attachment sites. For the first time now several technical developments allow a more detailed visualization of the fine structure within the cellular attachment sites as well as making it possible to show the ultra-structural morphology of the junctional complexes, and to demonstrate that the desmosomes are regularly distributed aroand each skin cell, especially in the S. granulosum. The relations of these findings to these of previous investigations concerning the functional, organization of the junctional complexes and to the findings in skin cancer from a cellular adhesion view point have been briefly discussed.
