Phosphate removal through adsorbent, such as activated alumina, powdered aluminum oxide, flyash, blasted furnace slag and other materials, is commonly and widely practiced. The purpose of this study was to improve the removal efficiency of phosphorus in waste sludge earned at seafood processing factories. To investigate the utility and the feasibility of this sludge disposal process, experiment was carried out with a batch process. As a result, phosphate removal appears to increase with increasing adsorbent does, but shows no changes at an adsorbent does over 5g/l. With increasing ratios of initial phosphate concentration to adsorbent does, the amount of removed phosphate is increased while phosphate removal(%) is decreased. Wasted sludge, treated with zinc chloride chemically, represented a better efficiency than the untreated activated sludge and zinc chloride itself, when they reacted with phosphate solution.
Indolylacrylophenone 유도체에 대한 Thioglycolic acid의 친핵성 첨가반응 메카니즘과 그 반응속도론적 연구

Indolylacrylophenone 유도체(IA)에 대한 thioglycolic acid(TG)의 첨가반응속도는 25℃, 30%(v/v)dioxane H2O혼합용액속에서 자외선 분광기를 이용하여 측정하였다. 반응속도는 PH1.0~13.0의 범위에서 얻어졌다.반응속도는 일반염기 촉매반응과 Hammett 상수에 대하여 도시한 결과 (IA)와 (TG)의 진핵성 첨가반응 메카니즘은 다음과 같다.PH 4.0이하에서 TG중성분자만이 IA 이중결합에 첨가되었고, pH4.0~9.0사이에서는 TG중성분자 또는 HSCH2COO-가 IA의 conjugated 염기으 이중결합에 첨가되었다. pH 9.0 이상에서는 -SCH2COO-가 IA의 conjugated 염기의 이중결합에 첨가되었다. The kinetics of the addition of thioglycolic acid(TG) to indolylacrylophenone derivative(IA) was investigated using ultraviolet spectrophotometry in 30%(v/v) dioxane-H2O at 25℃ A rate equation which can be applied over wide pH range(pH 1.0 ~ 13.0)was obtained. On the basis of rate equation, general base catalysis and Hammett's plot, the mechanism of nucleophilic addition of (TG) TO (IA) were proposed:Below pH 4.0 only the neutral (TG)molecule or HSCH2COO-added to the double bond of conjugated base of (IA). Above pH9.0 sulfide anion (-SCH2COO-) added to the double bond of conjugated base of (IA).
3-Phenylsydnone 유도체와 친쌍극체와의 Cycloaddition 반응메카니즘에 관한 연구

The cycloaddition reaction mechanism and reactivity of 3-phenylsydnone and its 4-substituted-3-phenylsydnones with dipolarophiles was more conveniently investigated by measuring the reaction rates with UV spectrophotometry. An electron withdrawing group attached at the 4-carbon position in 3-phenylsydnone and its derivatives decrease the reaction rate because of the lack of electron density in sydnone ring. From the result of this Kinetic study, it was known that the cycloaddition reaction was found to be a first-order reaction depending upon the concentration of 3-phenylsydnone only. The synthetic method of pyrazole was performed by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction with dipolarophile instead of the reaction between diazomethane and acetylene which was used before.

The objective of this study was to invetigate the coagulation effects of landfill leachate by using Acid Mine Drainage(AND). The coagulation efficiency was investigated by mixing landfill leachate with F e+3solution earned by oxidation of pyrite(AMD). In the results of this experiment, it was found that the amount of removed COD and SS was approximately 30% respectively by mixing at the ratio of AMD three to leachate one. And it showed highest turbidity removal efficiency at all mixing ratio. Concentration of Fe was decreased with increasing mixing ratio, however it was increased inversely at mixing ratio 4. Optimal mixing ratio was 3 at the results obtained by leachate coagulation experiments. Also removal efficiency at mixing ratio 3 corresponded to 500mg/ℓ of FeC l3 dosage. it was suggested that pretreatment by mixing of AMD and leachate remove both suspended organic material of leachate and metal of AMD.

The removal effect of phosphate by sludge from wastewaters prior to discharge into natural waters is an essential measure to prevent eutrophication in receiving waters. There is need for developing low cost, easily and abundantly available, efficient adsorbents for the removal of phosphorus (P as orthophosphate) during the tertiary treatment of wastewaters. The adsorbent carbon which is prepared with fisheries wastes on a laboratory scale has been used to evaluate its performance for phosphate adsorption. Phosphate removal increase with increasing adsorbent dose and temperature, but shows no changes at an adsorbent dose over 8 g/l.
Chitosan-phthalylsulfathiazole의 합성과 항균성

Applied for Drug Delivery System, polymer drug was prepared with chitosan and phthalylsulfathiazole. In spite of various application of chitin derivatives, commercial use of chitin has been limited due to highly resistance to chemicals and the absense of proper solvents. In this study, Chitosan were prepared from chitin which were deacetylated under various condition. The synthetic procedures of polymer drug were performed by acid chloride methods. The antibiotic activities of polymer drug exhibited growth-inhibitory activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, E. coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Klebsiella pneumoniae at the concentration of 471-514 $\mu$g/ml in general. Comparatively, Polymer drug exhibited broad antibacterial activity on MICs 897-1280 $\mu$g/ml against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and E. coli.
