한국 우편봉투 영상에서 우편번호 추출 및 인식을 위한 시스템

최근 우체국에 배달되는 의뢰되는 우편물량이 급속도로 증가하고 있다. 우편물 자동분류기 개발은 국외의 활발한 연구활동에 비해 국내의 연구는 미미한 상태이다. 우리나라의 규격 우편봉투는 6자리 우편번호를 네모칸 안에 쓰도록 규정하고 있기 때문에, 우편번호가 나타난 위치를 자동으로 찾는 작업이 비교적 수월하다. 본 논문은 우리나라 우편봉토에서 우편번호 부분을 찾아 우편번호를 인식하는 실용적인 시스템을 기술한다. 시스템의 전체 처리과정은 3개의 모듈, 즉 우편번호 숫자 추출부, 숫자 인식부, 그리고 분류 정보 변환부로 구성되어 있다. 시스템 설계시 몇가지 기준을 설정하여, 그 기준에 맞추어 알고리즘을 개발 하였다. 성능 평가를 위해, 대학교 학생들을 대상으로 다양한 크기의 우편물과 엽서등을 포함한 204장의 우편물을 수집하였다. 우편봉투 한장단 처리시간은 PC에서 평균 0.93초로서, 이는 분류요원 4명의 성능에 해당한다. 분류 성공률 (대분류 82%, 중분류 64%, 세분류 43%)은, 시스템에 대한 약간의 파라메타 조율을 통하여 현장 응용에 투입할 수 있을 정도임을 보여준다. Recently, the amount of mails to be delivered by the post office centers increases rapidly. Compared to the internationally active researches in developing automatic mail sorting machines, a little research result has been published in our country. A Korean regular letter envelope contains 6 ZIP code boxes which makes easy the automatic detection and recognition of ZIP code numerals. The target of this paper is to develop a practical system which detects and recognizes the ZIP code numerals on the Korean letter envelopes. Our system consists of three modules, module for extracting the 6 ZIP code numerals, module for recognizing the extracted handwritten numerals, and module for transforming the recognition results into a sorting information. We set up several design criteria before attempting development of the system Algorithms were developed under those design criteria. We performed a performance evaluation with 204 letter envelope images written by University students which include various-size letter envelopes and post cards. The execution time of our system is 0.93 second on a PC which amounts to the sorting speed by 4 persons, The sorting success rates (78% for the first digit, 61% for the first 3 digits, and 41% for all the 6 digits) show that our system can be put to a practical, applications by some tunings to the field environments.
주기관 쟈케트냉각수 온도를 위한 피드포워드 제어시스템의 구성과 분석

The temperature control of jacket cooling water where the pick-up sensor of its control loop is placed at the outlet of marine diesel engine shows more difficulties in attaining stable and desirable properties than the case where the measuring point is at the inlet of engine due to dead times included in pipes and engine itself. This study suggests a forward control system which leads to improved performances when disturbances are given to the system. Two dead times in the modelling were described for inlet pipes to engine as well as for thermal process inside the engine. The results of analysis were shown by simulations to confirm responses under different conditions.
잔류자기와 I 결선에 의한 3상유도전동기 고정자 권선의 극성판별법에 대한 연구

When connecting 6 lead wires from stator windings to the terminals of 3 phase induction motors for Y or △ connection, it is feared that the polarities of windings could be reversed each other if the wire tags are lost or erased, resulting in inadmissibly high current to motors in case of starting. To protect motors against such situations, some test procedures are necessary during wire connection which need to be easy ways to electricians without particular tools except a general multi-tester and with less time-consuming in the field. This study focuses on a test measure to satisfy these requirements which is able to provide them a convenient procedure for winding polarity discrimination considering the field condition. Here, the proposed measure utilizes the residual magnetism of the rotor and checks the indication of voltage or current at windings which are induced by the residual flux of rotor when rotating it by hands with 3 stator windings connected in the form of Ι connection. Principle characteristics and experiment results for this method are analyzed in the view of the effectiveness and applicability for the winding polarity discrimination.
