In this paper, the yield of the given circuits is obtained by the statistical yield estimation method using the regression model and Monte-Carlo integration Method. Applying the one-dimensional search method, the circuit design, e.g. MOS inverter and OP-AMP, is optimized with respect to the yield. In conclusion, by this work, the methodology of statistical yield estimation method is established, and it is found that this method can effectively be applied for the design optimization of circuits.

In this work, design of small microprocessor unit is implemented using education-purpose VHDL and CAD tools. At first, the operation is confirmed by C and VHDL language simulation. The feasibility of suggested pipelined structure for performance improvement is confirmed by simulation and then, related problems and future research directions are discussed.

In this work, an improved architecture of two-dimensional digital filter is designed by research CAD tools. Designed 2D DF is simulated by C, VHDL languages and related layouts are performed by Berkeley CAD tools. The 2D DF consists of one-dimensional digital filter and delay line. In 1D DF case, filter coefficients are represented by canonical signed digit formats and then multiplications are performed by hardwired-shifting methods with improvement of picture quality degradation. To speed up the filter block, carry-save adder, manchester carry adder, vector merge adder are adopted in each tap and output stage. In delay line case, line-sharing DRAM is adopted to improve power dissipation and speed. The filter layout is designed to improve regularity and speed.

When we use a monostable Multivibrator as a frequency divider, there is always a upper frequency limit due to the recovery time circuit. To solve this problem in this paper, we coupled a chain of bistable flip-flops to the Monostable Multivibrator. Then the frequency division ratio can be increased while maintaining the variability of the Monostable Multivibrator as a frequency divrider.
