본 연구에서는 체계화되지 못한 중소도시의 쓰레기 수집 수송의 자료를 정리, 현장 조사를 통한 쓰레기 수집 수송 관리를 위한 프로그램을 작성하였다. 대상은 C시로 하였으며, 수집구역을 주택, 아파트, 상가지역으로 한정지어 현장 조사를 실시하였고, 폐기물 관리 프로그램을 작성하였다. 연구 결과는 쓰레기 수집 수송단계의 필요한 인자와 중소도시에 적용 가능한 평균 값을 도출하였고, 중소도시의 쓰레기 수집 수송단계를 체계화하는 단계와 expert system을 구축하였다. 또한, Visual Basic을 이용한 쓰레기 수집 수송 관리 프로그램을 개발하였다. 결과적으로 본 연구로 개발되어진 도시폐기물의 수집 수송 관리 시스템은 다른 지역의 현장 Data를 추가함으로서 광범위하게 이용될 수 있을 것이다. This study aims to provide a program for the municipal solid waste collection and transportation management through data consolidation and field research of the materials about waste collection and transportation in a small city. The field research was conducted in the collection zone of the housing, apartment and business section within C city area. As a result, the main factor of collection and transportation plan required at the waste collection and transportation process and the central mean applying at the small city were calculated. The process that systemize the waste collection and transportation step and the expert system were constructed. In conclusion, the developed management system of the municipal solid waste collection and transportation can be wildly used by adding the data of other zone.
시간주기적 자기장에 의한 입방체 내부의 자연대류 열전달 증진

A numerical study was made of natural convection of air (paramagnetic fluid) in a cubic enclosure under constant gravity and time-periodic magnetic field. In the cube, the two opposite vertical sidewalls are maintained at different temperatures and the other walls are thermally insulated. In this basic layout, the magnetic field is applied externally by placing two sets of electrical coil; left and right sides of the cube. The currents in the coils are activated in an alternating fashion. The computed results revealed the existence of resonance, and the resonance frequency is characterized by the basic mode of internal gravity oscillations. The amplification characteristics of the amplitude of heat transfer in the interior are linearly dependent on the magnitude of magnetizing force.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystemic inflammatory autoimmune disease caused by various autoantibodies and immune complexes. SLE and antiphospholipid antibodies are associated with thrombotic manifestations. However, renal artery thrombosis which causes renal artery occlusion is uncommon even in SLE patients with antiphospholipid antibodies. A 27-year-old woman with SLE suddenly developed left flank pain and generalized edema. From the laboratory workup, the woman was negative for antiphospholipid antibody and nephrotic-range proteinuria was detected. Computed tomography revealed renal artery thromboembolism and multiple renal infarctions with parenchymal perfusion defects in the left kidney. Renal biopsy showed WHO classification III and V lupus nephritis. Left flank pain, generalized edema and proteinuria were resolved and the thromboembolism resolved itself after a high dose of steroid and anticoagulation therapy. In SLE patients, sudden onset of unexplained flank pain is considered as a possible symptom of renal vessel thromboembolism even if the antiphospholipid antibody is negative.
벽면 근처 모델링 방법에 따른 T형 배관 내부의 난류 및 열혼합 분석

T형 배관의 열피로 평가를 위해 배관 내부의 난류유동 및 온도장을 정확히 예측하는 것은 중요하며, 이를 위해 전산유체역학이 사용된다. 그러나 전산유체역학의 결과는 난류모델, 격자수, 대류항의 차분화 방법 등과 같이 세부적인 적용 방법에 따라 달라질 수 있으며, 특히 열피로와 같이 벽면과의 열전달이 포함된 문제의 경우에는 벽면 근처의 모델링 방법에 따라 그 결과가 크게 영향을 받는다고 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 OECD/NEA 벤치마크 문제의 일환으로 수행된 Vattenfall T형 배관 실험을 대상으로 서로 다른 벽면 근처 모델링 방법을 적용하여 수행된 해석결과를 비교·분석함으로써 벽면 근처의 모델링 방법이 T형 배관 내부의 유동 및 온도분포 예측에 미치는 영향에 대해 평가하였다. The accurate prediction of turbulent flow and associated thermal fields in a mixing tee is an essential task for thermal fatigue assessment; that requires computational fluid dynamics (CFD). However, CFD could yield various results depending on the methodologies applied, for example turbulence model, mesh resolution, and discretization scheme. In particular, modeling near the wall has been known to affect the results significantly in case of including wall heat transfer such as thermal fatigue problem. In this study, the effects of a modeling approach near the wall on the prediction of flow and temperature distribution in a mixing tee were evaluated by simulating the Vattenfall T-junction test using detached eddy simulation turbulence model and by comparing the results of the analysis.
고율 혐기성 공정과 아질산-아탈질을 연계한 수산물가공폐수의 질소제거

Objectives: Organic matter and nitrogen were removed using the EGSB process, a high-rate anaerobic process, in combination with a nitritation-denitritation process, in order to ensure the stable treatment of seafood processing wastewater. Methods: The upflow velocity of an EGGS reactor was operated at 10 m/hr for maximal organics removal efficiency. For removal of nitrogen from seafood processing wastewater a nitritation-denitriation process was applied Results: The efficiency of the EGSB process showed that it has an 80% or more organic matter (CODcr) removal efficiency with an HRT of six hours or more at influent loadings of 17.34 kgCOD/$m^3$/day or less. The methane product for TCODcr removal was 0.23-0.38 $m^3CH_4$/kgCODrem., which was similar to the theoretical generation of STP-state methane, 0.35 $m^3CH_4$/kgTCODrem. In the nitritation-denitritation process, the nitritation conversion rate to $NH_4^+$-N concentration was 82% to 87%, 72% to 81% and 64% to 69% when HRT was 24 hr, 21 hr and 18 hr, respectively. In the denitritation process, the ratio of SCOD consumption to NOx-N removal ranged from 2.347 to 2.587. It was 2.472 on average. Conclusions: The optimal HRT for stable processing of seafood processing wastewater is six hours or more. The ratio of nitrite to total NOx-N was 82% to 96%, which indicates that nitrite accounts for the largest portion of the product.

Primary iliopsoas abscess is a rare but potentially serous condition. The diagnosis is frequently delayed due to its variable and nonspecific fcatures and occult clinical course. The delayed diagnosis and treatment of iliopsoas abscess is the major poor prognostic factor. We report a rare case of primary iliopsoas abscess that presented as a femoral neuropathy in a patient on hemodialysis. A 49-year-old man with end stage renal disease was admitted due to pain in the lft inguinal area, and weakness and hypoesthesia of left lower leg. Left iliopsoas abscess was confirmed by CT and MRI. Left femoral neuropathy was diagnosed with electrodiagnostic study. Iliopsoas abscess with femoral neuropathy was completely treated with CT-guided aspiration, antibiotics and prolonged physical therapy of hip and knee joints. To our knowledge, this is the first case report of primary iliopsoas abscess presented as a femoral neuropathy in a patient on hemodialysis in Korea. (Korean J nephrol 2004;23(1):180-184)
순위에 따른 가중 페널티를 이용한 처방전의 특정 정보 인식

본 논문에서는 한글, 숫자, 영문자, 기호 등이 혼용된 컬러용 폼지 또는 A4지 처방전을 자동으로 인식하는 시스템을 설계하는 방법을 제안한다. 이를 구현하기 위해 먼저 처방전을 스캐너를 이용하여 스캔하고 컬러 정보를 이용하여 회전된 처방전을 보정한 다음 처방전의 종류를 결정한다. 그리고, 문자의 형태학적 특징에 따라 한글과 그 외의 문자(비한글)를 구분한다. 그리고, 구분된 비한글의 경우는 다양한 특징 벡터를 이용한 가중 페널티 방법을 이용하여 인식한다.
