The present study was undertaken to investigate how polydextrose influence on mineral utilization. Nineteen male rats of Wisler strain with initial body weight averaging 69.3±4.1g were used in the experiment. The rats were randomly divided into groups: Control, 3% polydextrose groups. They were housed individually in metabolic cages. They were fed with respective diet far 42 days. The results are as follows; 1) The rats in 3% polydextrose groups indicated higher calcium, magnesium and phosphorus retention as compared with the control group. 2) No difference among content of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus in plasma, liver and kidney. 3) The rats in 5% polydextrose group indicated higher calcium content in distal and magnesium content in proxmal as compared with the control groups. 4) Control group indicated higher calcium, phosphorus content as compared with the 3%, 5% polydextrose groups in fumer. But no difference among content of magnesium from the three groups were observed.
