      • “一声之转”与同源词研究

???(Yang Jian-qiao) 고려대학교 한자한문연구소 2006 동아한학연구 Vol.- No.2

Yisheng zhi zhuan(一?之?), mainly refer to thephenomenon of the etymological chains formed by some Chinese characters and words with same or similar initials. But nowadays this traditionalterm and its accompanying methodology are still in wide use and sometimes nearly without any limitations. This paper argues that indeed Yisheng zhi zhuan can't help to clarify the etymon in the chain at all, so it is not scientific in modern view, which is its inherent deficiency. So modern linguists should avoid using the term, andmanage to construct a new paradigm under which to make the study of the Paronyms.

      • Long Non-coding RNA GAS5 Functions as a Tumor Suppressor in Renal Cell Carcinoma

Qiao, Hui-Ping,Gao, Wei-Shi,Huo, Jian-Xin,Yang, Zhan-Shan Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.2

Background: Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a malignancy with a poor prognosis. We aimed to explore whether the expression of Long Non-Coding RNA (LncRNA) growth arrest-specific transcript 5 (GAS5) is associated with RCC genesis. Methods: We selected twelve clinical samples diagnosed for renal clear cell carcinoma and found that the LncRNA GAS5 transcript levels were significantly reduced relative to those in adjacent unaffected normal renal tissues. Results: In addition, expression of GAS5 was lower in the RCC cell line A498 than that in normal renal cell line HK-2. Furthermore, using functional expression cloning, we found that overexpression of GAS5 in A498 cells inhibited cell proliferation, induced cell apoptosis and arrested cell cycling. At the same time, the migration and invasion potential of A498 cells were inhibited compared to control groups. Conclusion: Our study provided the first evidence that a decrease in GAS5 expression is associated with RCC genesis and progression and overexpression of GAS5 can act as a tumor suppressor for RCC, providing a potential attractive therapeutic approach for this malignancy.

Genome-wide identification of auxin-responsive microRNAs in the poplar stem

        Yang Lihua,Ping Tao,Lu Wenjin,Song Sangfa,Wang Jianli,Wang Qiao,Chai Guohua,Bai Yue,Chen Yan 한국유전학회 2023 Genes & Genomics Vol.45 No.8

Background Wood (secondary xylem) of forests is a material of great economic importance. Wood development is strictly controlled by both the phytohormone auxin and microRNAs (miRNAs). Currently, the regulatory mechanisms underlying wood formation by auxin-associated miRNAs remain unclear. Objective This report was designed to identify auxin-responsive miRNAs during wood formation. Methods Morphological observation of wood development in the poplar stems was performed under the treatment of different concentrations (0 mg/L, CK; 5 mg/L, Low; 10 mg/L, High) of indol-3-butyric acid (IBA). Using a small RNA sequencing strategy, the effect of IBA treatment on miRNAs expression was genome-widely analyzed. Results In this study, we found that wood development of poplar was promoted by low concentration of IBA treatment but inhibited by high concentration of IBA treatment. Stringent bioinformatic analysis led to identification of 118 known and 134 novel miRNAs candidates. Sixty-nine unique developmental-related miRNAs, corresponding to 269 target genes, exhibited specific expression patterns in response to auxin, as was consistent with the influence of auxin application on wood formation. Three novel miRNAs had the most number (≥ 9) of target genes, belonging to SPL, GRF and ARF gene families. The evolutionary relationships and tissue expression patterns of 41 SPL, GRF and ARF genes in poplar were thus analyzed. Of them, four representative members and corresponding miRNAs were confirmed using RT-qPCR. Conclusions Our results may be helpful for a better understanding of auxin-induced regulation of wood formation in tree species.

Simulation of the Temperature and Salinity Along 36N in the Yellow Sea with a Wave-Current Coupled Model

        Fangli Qiao,Jian Ma,Yongzeng Yang,Yeli Yuan 한국해양과학기술원 2004 Ocean science journal Vol.39 No.1

Based on the MASNUM wave-current coupled model, the temperature and salinity structures along 36°N in the Yellow Sea are simulated and compared with observations. Both the position and strength of the simulated thermocline are similar to data analysis. The wave-induced mixing is strongest in winter and plays a key role in the formation of the upper mixed layer in spring and summer. Numerical experiments suggest that in the coastal area, wave-induced mixing and tidal mixing control the vertical structure of temperature and salinity.

Effects of Endothelin A Receptor Antagonist BQ123 on Femoral Artery Pressure and Pulmonary Artery Pressure in Broiler Chickens

        Wang, Huiyu,Qiao, Jian,Gao, Mingyu,Yang, Ying,Li, Kai,Wang, Jianlin,Tian, Yong,Xu, Tong Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2007 Animal Bioscience Vol.20 No.10

Endothelin-1 (ET-1) is an important factor in regulation of cardiovascular tone in humans and mammals, but the biological function of ET-1 in the avian vascular system has not been determined. The purpose of this study was to characterize the role of endogenous ET-1 in the vascular system of poultry by investigating the effect of endothelin A receptor ($ET_AR$) antagonist BQ123 on the femoral artery pressure (FAP) and the pulmonary artery pressure (PAP) in broiler chickens. First, we found that plasma and lung homogenate ET-1 levels were both increased with age over the seven weeks life cyccle of broiler chickens. Second, 60 min after intravenous injection, BQ123 ($0.4{\mu}g\;kg^{-1}$ and $2.0{\mu}g\;kg^{-1}$, respectively) induced a significant reduction in FAP and PAP (p<0.05). Third, chronic infusion of BQ123 ($2.0{\mu}g\;kg^{-1}$ each time, two times a day) into abdominal cavities led to significant decrease in systolic pressure of the femoral (p<0.05) and pulmonary arteries (p<0.01) in broiler chickens at 7 and 14 days after treatment. Taken together, the $ET_AR$ antagonist BQ123 lead to a significant reduction of FAP and PAP, which suggests that endogenous ET-1 may be involved in the maintenance and regulation of systemic and pulmonary pressure in broiler chickens.

Gentiopicroside Ameliorates the Progression from Hepatic Steatosis to Fibrosis Induced by Chronic Alcohol Intake

        ( Hong-xu Yang ),( Yue Shang ),( Quan Jin ),( Yan-ling Wu ),( Jian Liu ),( Chun-ying Qiao ),( Zi-ying Zhan ),( Huan Ye ),( Ji-xing Nan ),( Li-hua Lian ) 한국응용약물학회 2020 Biomolecules & Therapeutics(구 응용약물학회지) Vol.28 No.4

In current study, we aimed to investigate whether the gentiopicroside (GPS) derived from Gentiana manshurica Kitagawa could block the progression of alcoholic hepatic steatosis to fibrosis induced by chronic ethanol intake. C57BL/6 mice were fed an ethanol- containing Lieber-DeCarli diet for 4 weeks. LX-2 human hepatic stellate cells were treated with GPS 1 h prior to transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) stimulation, and murine hepatocyte AML12 cells were pretreated by GPS 1 h prior to ethanol treatment. GPS inhibited the expression of type I collagen (collagen I), α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) and tissue inhibitor of metal protease 1 in ethanol-fed mouse livers with mild fibrosis. In addition, the imbalanced lipid metabolism induced by chronic ethanol-feeding was ameliorated by GPS pretreatment, characterized by the modulation of lipid accumulation. Consistently, GPS inhibited the expression of collagen I and α-SMA in LX-2 cells stimulated by TGF-β. Inhibition of lipid synthesis and promotion of oxidation by GPS were also confirmed in ethanol-treated AML12 cells. GPS could prevent hepatic steatosis advancing to the inception of a mild fibrosis caused by chronic alcohol exposure, suggesting GPS might be a promising therapy for targeting the early stage of alcoholic liver disease.

MicroRNA-362 Inhibits Cell Proliferation and Invasion by Directly Targeting SIX1 in Colorectal Cancer

        Jin’e Wan,Jian Yang,Cuixia Qiao,Xiaomei Sun,Aiting Di,Lize Zhang,Dandan Wang,Gang Zhao 연세대학교의과대학 2019 Yonsei medical journal Vol.60 No.5

Purpose: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer in China and poses high morbidity and mortality. In recentyears, increasing evidence has indicated that microRNAs played important functions in the occurrence and development of tumors. The purpose of this study was to identify the biological mechanisms of miR-362 in CRC. Materials and Methods: Quantitative real-time PCR was carried out to assess the expression of miR-362 and SIX1. The Kaplan-Meier method was employed to evaluate the 5-year overall survival of CRC patients. The proliferative and invasive abilities of CRCcells were assessed by MTT and transwell assays. Results: miR-362 was significantly decreased in CRC tissues and cell lines, compared to the normal tissues and normal cells. Asignificant connection was confirmed between the overall survival of 53 CRC patients and low expression of miR-362. Downregulationof miR-362 inhibited the proliferation and invasion through binding to the 3'-UTR of SIX1 mRNA in CRC. Additionally, wediscovered that SIX1 was a direct target gene of miR-362 and that the expression of miR-362 had a negative connection with SIX1expression in CRC. SIX1 could reverse partial functions in the proliferation and invasion in CRC cells. Conclusion: miR-362 may be a prognostic marker in CRC and suppress CRC cell proliferation and invasion in part through targetingthe 3'-UTR of SIX1 mRNA. The newly identified miR-362/SIX1 axis provides insight into the progression of CRC.

A multi-parameter optimization technique for prestressed concrete cable-stayed bridges considering prestress in girder

Qiong Gao,Meng-Gang Yang,Jian-Dong Qiao 국제구조공학회 2017 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.64 No.5

The traditional design procedure of a prestressed concrete (PC) cable-stayed bridge is complex and time-consuming. The designers have to repeatedly modify the configuration of the large number of design parameters to obtain a feasible design scheme which maybe not an economical design. In order to efficiently achieve an optimum design for PC cable-stayed bridges, a multi-parameter optimization technique is proposed. In this optimization technique, the number of prestressing tendons in girder is firstly set as one of design variables, as well as cable forces, cable areas and cross-section sizes of the girders and the towers. The stress and displacement constraints are simultaneously utilized to ensure the safety and serviceability of the structure. The target is to obtain the minimum cost design for a PC cable-stayed bridge. Finally, this optimization technique is carried out by a developed PC cable-stayed bridge optimization program involving the interaction of the parameterized automatically modeling program, the finite element structural analysis program and the optimization algorithm. A low-pylon PC cable-stayed bridge is selected as the example to test the proposed optimization technique. The optimum result verifies the capability and efficiency of the optimization technique, and the significance to optimize the number of prestressing tendons in the girder. The optimum design scheme obtained by the application can achieve a 24.03% reduction in cost, compared with the initial design.

Research on the Artificial Neural Network Unfolding Method for the Water-Pumping-Injection Multi-Homocentric Sphere Neutron Spectrometer

        Kang Chang,Yi Cheng,Jian-Bo Yang,Yujie Qiao,Rui Li,Can Zhang 한국물리학회 2019 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.74 No.6

This work aimed to study an algorithm for the unfolding spectrum acquired by using a water-pumping-injection multi-homocentric sphere neutron spectrometer. The readings of the water-pumping-injection multi-homocentric sphere neutron spectrometer under 32 different neutron sources, including $^{241}$Am-Be spontaneous, $^{238}$Pu Watt, and $^{232}$Th Maxwell fission, were obtained by using the FLUKA Monte Carlo code and were input as the neural network training values for constructing the method of back-propagation artificial neural network neutron spectrum unfolding (MBANSU). Two neutron readings that were Monte Carlo experimentally measured from $^{252}$Cf spontaneous and $^{245}$Cm Maxwell fission sources were used as the testing values for MBANSU. The calculated neutron energy spectrum was in good agreement with the ENDF energy spectrum, and the information entropy of the result spectrum approximated that of the ENDF spectrum. Results indicate that the established MBANSU algorithm has potential applications for unfolding spectra collected by using the water-pumping-injection multi-homocentric sphere neutron spectrometer.

Intra-Spinal Bone Marrow Mononuclear Cells Transplantation Inhibits the Expression of Nuclear Factor-${\kappa}B$ in Acute Transection Spinal Cord Injury in Rats

Shrestha, Rajiv Prasad,Qiao, Jian Min,Shen, Fu Guo,Bista, Krishna Bahadur,Zhao, Zhong Nan,Yang, Jianhua The Korean Neurosurgical Society 2014 Journal of Korean neurosurgical society Vol.56 No.5

Objective : To assess the effect of bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMMNCs) transplantation in the expression of nuclear factor-${\kappa}B$ (NF-${\kappa}B$) in spinal cord injury (SCI) in rats. Methods : BMMNCs were isolated from tibia and femur by a density gradient centrifugation. After establishment of acute transection SCI, rats were divided into experiment (BMMNCs), experiment control (0.1 M PBS infused) and sham surgery groups (laminectomy without any SCI). Locomotor function was assessed weekly for 5 weeks post-injury using BBB locomotor score and urinary bladder function daily for 4 weeks post-injury. Activity of NF-${\kappa}B$ in spinal cord was assessed by immunohistochemistry and reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction. Results : At each time point post-injury, sham surgery group had significantly higher Basso, Beattie, Bresnahan locomotor and urinary bladder function scores than experiment and experiment control group (p<0.05). At subsequent time interval there were gradual improvement in both experiment and experiment control group, but experiment group had higher score in comparison to experiment control group (p<0.05). Comparisons were also made for expression of activated NF-${\kappa}B$ positive cells and level of NF-${\kappa}B$ messenger RNA in spinal cord at various time points between the groups. Activated NF-${\kappa}B$ immunoreactivity and level of NF-${\kappa}B$ mRNA expression were significantly higher in control group in comparison to experiment and sham surgery group (p<0.05). Conclusion : BMMNCs transplantation attenuates the expression of NF-${\kappa}B$ in injured spinal cord tissue and thus helps in recovery of neurological function in rat models with SCI.
