The causes of pyogenic liver abscess has been known as biliary tract disease or intrabadominal infection but the large proportions of the patients has no apparent underlying disorders. Recently colonic mucosal lesions were reported in patients with cryptogenic liver abscess and it has been suggested that colonic mucosal break may play a role in developing liver abscess in otherwise healthy patients. We experienced a patient of severe recurrent liver abscess complicated with endophthalmitis only 3 months after successful treatment of initial cryptogenic liver abscess and a polypoid colon cancer was discovered by chance. It seems prudent to proceed colonoscopic examination in patients with cryptogenic liver abscess especially when it is recurrent.

Studies were conducted to investigate the response of some horticultural plants to various light qualities provided by different kind of materials such as cellophane sheets, EVA, PVC(polyvinyl chloride, and polyethylene (PE) films of different color. Major findings are summarized as follows. White fluorescence light and red light promoted seed germination of lettuce and inhibited that of radish seeds. Blue light inhibited the seed germination of both types of light-sensitive seeds. The light sensitivity varied considerably depending upon the kind of crops, cultivars, and the seed batches of the same cultivar. The blue light was equally or more strongly effective in inhibiting the seed germination as compared to the farred light. The growth of young seedlings developed from seeds was considerably promoted when grown under orange colored plastic film coverings. The growth of larger seedlings was, however, not influenced by the color of plastic films. Mulching pepper field with colored PVC film did not show further advantages over the commonly-used black PE film. Herbicidal activity of oxyfluorfen was very strong under natural light or red light conditions' and weak under blue or green light conditions. The degree of oxyfluorfen-induced phytotoxicity varied considerably depending upon the light quality and the kind of vegetable crops.

흰쥐에서 염화비닐 폭로수준에 따른 소변내 thiodiglycolic acid 농도의 변화

Objectives : It is the objective of this research to identify the variation of thiodiglycolic acid(TdGA) in urine with vinyl chloride monamer(VCM) exposure levels through methylation. Methods : After rats were exposed to vinyl chloride monomer of 4 levels, 0㎎/㎥, 50㎎/㎥, 150㎎/㎥, 500㎎/㎥, respectively, of which urine was sampled in each sampling time of 0 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours, 16 hours, 36 hours, 48 hours. After urine had been methylated with diazomethane in the preliminary experiment and the peak of 146 m/z had been verified, the main experiment was done. Results : In the variation of TdGA with sampling times, concentration of TdGA increased rapidly in 4 hours and then decreased after 8 hours. When the variation of urinary TdGA concentration in urine according to exposure level of VGM was verified through Kruskal-Wallis statistical method at each sampling time, the significant increment with the exposure levels at 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours after exposure was clarified. Conclusion : TdGA concentration in urine with increment of VCM exposure level increased, especially significantly at 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours of sampling time.

A 5 year old, 13kg, Jindo dogs was presented with clinical signs of anorexia, weakness and exercise intolerance, and diagnosed as dirofilariasis by hematology, blood chemistry and ultrasonography. In hematology and blood chemistry, the presence of microfilariae in the blood, anemia, leukocytosis, hemoglobinuria and jaundice were revealed. In ultrasonography, heartworms were found in the right ventricle artery and pulmonary artery as structures of hyperechoic dots or streaks. Because of the dog's poor physical status, the owner requested euthanasia. In autopsy, fifty odd of heartworms were ascertained in the right ventricle and pulmonary artery. Tricuspid valve in the orifice of right ventricle and right atrium, and chordae tendineae were deliquesced.

임상교정 교육용 멀티미디어 데이터베이스 웹서버 구축에 관한 연구

본 연구는 인터넷상의 가상공간에 다양한 자료로 구성된 환자 증례를 통해, 교정을 배우고자 하는 임상의나 학생들의 교육에 필요한 멀티미디어 데이터베이스를 구축하기 위한 것이다. 이러한 시스템을 구현하기 위해서는 이미지 자료의 처리, computer network를 통한 빠른 정보처리 기능, 진단 분석법의 개발, 데이터베이스의 구축 기술, 데이터베이스와 인터넷과의 연계, 증례를 통한 교육방법론과 같은 기술적 문제점들이 있다. 진단과 치료계획을 위한 분석은 모델 분석과 두부방사선 사진분석으로 나누어 제공하였다. 모델분석법은 arch length discrepancy와 Bolton tooth ratio를 환자 정보란에 제공하였다. 두부방사선 사진분석은 초진란에 제공하였다. Cephalometric analysis ver 2.0과 Power Ceph pro 3.3.5를 이용하여 Tweed, Steiner, Jarabak분석법 등을 제공하였으나, 본문에서는 주로 Kim's analysis와 몇 가지 계측치를 추가하여 설명하였고, 나머지는 tracing란에서 제시하였다. 또한 치료 종료 후나 보정란에서 치료 전, 후의 두부방사선 사진을 중첩해서 보여줌으로써 치료에 의한 효과를 직접 볼 수 있도록 하였다. The Objective of this research was to construct the multimedia database system that was necessary for the education of the practitioners and the students. To establish this system, there were technical problems as follows : 1) The processing of the images, 2) The rapid processing of the information with the computer network, 3) The development of diagnosis tools, 4) The technique to establish the database system, 5) The link between the database system and the internet, and 6) The method to educate through many cases. The analysis for diagnosis and treatment planning were provided as two parts : model analysis and cephalometric analysis. As a model analysis, arch length discrepancy and Bolton tooth ratio were provided for the part of patient information. Cephalometric analyses were provided in the part of initial diagnosis. The Cephalometric analysis ver 2.0 and the PowerCeph pro 3.3.5 were used to show Tweed, Steiner and Jarabak analysis. In the main part, Kim's analysis and some measurements were added. In the post-treatment or retention part, we show the superimposition of the cephalometrics with which you can find the effectiveness of the various orthodontic treatment. 궤적 정보를 이용한 냉동 컨테이너 모니터링 시스템

위성 통신 기술의 발달로 국부적으로 수행리던 위치 추적의 범위가 선 세계로 3~4간되었다 하지만 기존의 물류 관제 시스템들은 관제 서버와 물류간의 통신을 위하여 휴대폰 통신망을 이용하기 때문에 일부 지역 내에서 이동하는 물류에 대해서만 관제가 가능하다. 이 논문에서는 위성 통신을 이용하여 전 세계를 이동하는 물류 매체인 냉동 컨테이너의 위치 및 상태 정보를 관리하기 위한시스템을 제안하였다. 제안 시스템은 냉동 컨테이너의 상태를 직절 관제하는 데이터 수집부, 관제서버와의 통신을 담당하는 위성 통신부, 냉동 컨테이너 정보를 판리하는 관제부로 구성된다. 시스템의 관제부에서는 냉동 컨테이너의 위치 주적 및 관제를 효과적으로 수행하기 위하여 기존의 TB 트리를 기반으로 하는 다중 버전 이동 객체 색인을 사용하였다. 제안된 냉동 컨테이너 관제시스템은 화주, 운송회사 등 육해상 물류관련 기관에서 냉동컨테이너 및 선박 위치추적, 컨테이너 통제, 컨테이너 통계 등 다양한 용도로 사용될 수 있어 화주에게는 컨테이너 운송에 대한 서비스를 제공하며, 선사에게는 선박안전경보시스템, 선박 관리, 냉동컨테이너를 효율적인 관리 기능을 제공하게 한다. As developing satellite communication, the tracking range of the moving objects which move in local area is expanded to the whole world. However previous logistics management system is able to monitor freight which transporting in local area using mobile communication system. In this paper, we propose the reefer container management system that manages the location information and other related information such as temperature, humidity of container using the satellite system. The proposed system consists of three parts; data collector, satellite communication manager, reefer container information manager. And the proposed system uses the moving object index for managing the trajectory of container and tracing the location of container or vessel that is transporting the container, and supports various services such as reefer container and vessel tracking, container control and container statistics to logistic companies like shipper and forwarding agent. And the system can be increasing the quality of container transportation service to the shipper, and it makes the efficient management of reefer container to the shipping company.

청각 자극용 전기자극기 개발

This paper introduces a development of an electrical stimulator for auditory stimulation. The electrical stimulator is useful in neurotological diagnosis, audiological evaluation, candidate selection for cochlear implantation, optimal device selection and decision making of MAP strategy for severe-to-profound hearing impaired persons. The development was based on sound parameters of auditory brainstem responses and auditory electrophysiological characteristic such as effective firing of auditory nerve and recording evoked potentials during refractory period of neuron. Besides pulse parameter could adjustable by programming for more varied electrical stimulation evoked response audiometry. Using the electrical stimulator, electrical square pulse was applied to promontory, and electrically evoked auditory brainstem response and electrically middle latency response were successfully recorded in cats.
