      • Multilocus genotypic association with vascular dementia by multifactor dimensionality reduction and entropy-based estimation

        OBJECTIVE: We conducted a simultaneous analysis of candidate genetic loci for their genotypic association with the susceptibility to vascular dementia (VaD) to put forth the best model for predicting genetic susceptibility to VaD. METHODS: Individual-locus effects and their epistatic effects on susceptibility to VaD were simultaneously assessed by multifactor dimensionality reduction and entropy-based method. The 23 loci in 12 genes were studied in 207 VaD patients and age-matched and sex-matched 207 controls. RESULTS: The multifactor dimensionality reduction analysis revealed that the best single-locus candidate model included angiotensinogen (AGT) Thr235Met with testing accuracy (TA) of 58.31%, the best two-locus candidate model included AGT Thr235Met and transforming growth factor-&bgr;1 Pro10Leu with TA of 58.06%, the best three-locus candidate model was not significant (P>0.05), and the best four-locus candidate model included transforming growth factor-&bgr;1 Pro10Leu, AGT Thr235Met, sterol regulatory element binding protein 2 G34995T, and leukemia inhibitory factor T4524G with TA of 57.13% (P<0.05). The best four-locus model was, however, still in question because of the inconsistent best model selection by cross-validation. Synergistic epistatic effect of the best two-locus model was proven by entropy-based estimation. CONCLUSION: The best predictor for genetic susceptibility to VaD was the single-locus model of AGT. The best two-locus model reflecting epistasis would be also employed for predicting its susceptibility. Further studies on the epistasis are to elucidate their underlying mechanisms.

        Haplotype analysis of single nucleotide polymorphisms in VEGF gene for vascular dementia

        <P>A case-control study was performed to identify single nucleotide variants of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) gene associated with vascular dementia. Seven SNPs in promoter, 5′-UTR, 3′-UTR, and introns of VEGF gene were identified in 24 Koreans. Three of them, −1154G/A, −7C/T, and 13553C/T, were selected based on allele frequency and linkage disequilibrium (LD), and genotyped in 207 vascular dementia patients and 207 control subjects. Significant association with vascular dementia was not shown (P > 0.05) in the alleles and genotypes of single locus. Subsequent analysis of composing VEGF risk haplotypes associated with vascular dementia was performed with maximum likelihood estimates of their possible haplotypes employing the expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm. Of three-locus haplotypes, only GTC was significantly associated with vascular dementia, conferring a risk of 1.87 (P < 0.05). Of two-locus haplotypes, the risk was observed with the nested forms of the risk haplotype GTC, that is, GT at the loci −1154G/A and −7C/T and TC at the loci −7C/T and 13553C/T (P < 0.05). Our findings suggested some interaction among −1154G/A, −7C/T, and 13553C/T variants in the determination of risk for vascular dementia. © 2006 Wiley-Liss, Inc.</P>

        Association of Mahogany/Attractin Gene (ATRN) with Porcine Growth and Fat

        Associations of restriction fragment length polymorphism in porcine attractin (ATRN) gene with average daily gain (ADG), live weight (LWT) and back fat thickness (BFT) were studied with one exotic composition population (Xianghuang) and three local breeds (Ningxing, Shaziling and Daweizi) in China. Two types of alleles were detected; one with the band size of 700 bp (A) and the other with the band size of 450 and 250 bp (B), and their genotypes were classified as AA, AB and BB. Polymorphisms were observed in the exotic breed, but not in the three local breeds. Individuals with the genotype BB showed larger ADG and LWT than those with AA in Xianghuang population (p<0.05). The breed specific effects of the porcine attractin gene in this study implied that identification of the polymorphisms and determination of genetic effects on phenotypes should be performed in the target populations.

        델파이 방법을 적용한 AI 교육콘텐츠 학생용 사용성 평가도구 개발 연구

        The purpose of this study is to develop a usability evaluation tool for artificial intelligence educational content that students can use in schools. Literature review were analyzed to derive evaluation elements for usability test. Based on this, a three-round Delphi study was conducted on selected expert panels. As a result of the study, the usability evaluation tool for students consisted of four evaluation areas: system, UI, learning content, learning method, and evaluation. As a sub-area, 19 evaluation categories, 38 evaluation indicators, and 51 evaluation factors were derived for usability evaluation tools for student. The usability evaluation factors were confirmed to be valid and reliable by checking the median, CVR, consensus, and Cronbach’s α. The AI education content usability evaluation tool developed through this study is expected to provide a checklist for learner-centered and educationally effective AI education content development.

        교도소 수형자의 부정적 자동적 사고가 자살실행력에 미치는 영향

        본 연구의 목적은 수형자의 부정적 자동적 사고가 공격성을 통해 자살실행력에 미치는 영향이 인지적 융합에 의해 강화되는지를 검증하는 것에 있으며, 이를 조절된 매개모형을 통해 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 교도소 수형자 500명을 대상으로 수집한 자료를 SPSS 25.0과 SPSS PROCESS Macro를 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 수형자의 부정적 자동적 사고와 자살실행력 간의 관계에서 공격성의 완전매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 부정적 자동적 사고가 유발하는 공격성이 인지적 융합에 의해 더욱 강화되는 것으로 나타나 인지적 융합의 조절효과를 확인하였다. 나아가 조절된 매개모형 분석에서는 인지적 융합에 의해 조절된 공격성의 매개효과 또한 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 인지적 융합 수준이 높을수록 부정적 자동적 사고가 공격성을 거쳐 자살실행력에 미치는 영향이 더욱 커지는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 수형자 자살 예방을 위한 개입에 있어 심리적 문제의 중요성을 조명하며, 개입 모델에 대한 의미있는 정보를 시사한다. 마지막으로, 한계점 및 추후 연구에 대한 제언을 논의하였다. The purpose of this study was to examine whether the effect of prisoners' negative automatic thoughts on capability suicide through aggression is enhanced by cognitive fusion. Moderated mediation analysis was conducted by SPSS 25.0 and SPSS PROCESS Macro. The data of 500 prisoners were collected. The results of the study showed that there was a full mediation effect of aggression on the relationship between negative automatic thoughts and capability for suicide among prisoners. In addition, the aggression induced by negative automatic thoughts was further strengthened by cognitive fusion. Lastly, this study found that the mediation effect of aggression moderated by cognitive fusion was also significant from the moderated mediation model analysis. This finding suggests that the higher the level of cognitive fusion, the greater the impact of negative automatic thoughts on capability for suicide through aggression. The results in this study highlight the importance of psychological problems in interventions to prevent prisoner suicide and suggest meaningful information for theoretical intervention models in correctional psychology.

        산학협력 캡스톤디자인 매칭 플랫폼 개발 연구

        The purpose of universities is diversifying, such as education and research for the transfer of knowledge and technology, and training talented people with the competencies required in industrial sites. Therefore, universities are attempting various forms of industry-academic cooperation to maintain organic relations with companies and to conduct research activities, technology sharing, technology development, technology transfer, and human resources training. In particular, in the field of engineering education, various industry-academic cooperation programs such as field training, interns, and start-up support are actively developed and operated. Accordingly, the Engineering Education Innovation Research Information Center developed an online industry-academic cooperation capstone design matching platform for engineering education to enable collaboration between universities and companies nationwide. The industry-academic cooperation matching platform was developed under the theme of capstone design. Capstone design is a project-oriented and problem-based learning method that combines the knowledge and experiences acquired by the undergraduate department and designs and produces them. The subject of the Capstone design project was to solve corporate difficulties and allow companies and universities to collaborate. This study developed an online industry-academic cooperation capstone design matching platform according to analysis, design, development, evaluation, and execution procedures. This study is meaningful in that it has developed a channel through which students and companies, who are the subjects of industry-academic cooperation, can carry out projects and communicate organically through an online matching platform.

        본 연구는 사회적 문제로 대두되는 있는 치매를 예방하기 위한 접근방법으로 알츠가드(Alzguard)를 제안하고자 한다. 알츠가드는 치매의 전단계인 경도인지장애를 치료하여 치매를 예방할 수 있도록 하는 카카오톡 플랫폼 기반 대화형 디지털 테라퓨틱스이다. 디지털 테라퓨틱스는 디지털 매체를 통해 질병 관리가 가능한 치료제를 말하는데, 비대면 관리와, 개인화된 치료가 가능한 접근방법이다. 이를 통해 경도인지장애 치료를 위한 요소인 훈련 몰입, 다각적 접근, 개인화된 훈련을 효과적으로 전달할 수 있다. 알츠가드는 이러한 요소를 중점으로 에이전트 ‘새미’와의 대화, 5 개 영역의 인지강화 훈련, 건강정보와 소셜 기능을 제공하며 이를 통해 경도인지장애를 치료하고 더 나아가 치매를 예방하고자 한다.

        공학계열 학생 핵심역량 진단도구 개발 및 타당화 연구

        As we have become more interested in ‘competency’ that means ability to do something around the world, the competency of the best performers has also been introduced in the university curriculum as a concept of core competency. Research continues on why this competency-based education is needed compared to existing academic-oriented education, how it can be introduced into existing curricula, and how it can be developed and evaluated in detail. This study develops and validates core competency assessment tools that can diagnose core competencies of engineering students. Therefore, this research paper conducted a literature review related to core competencies and also core competency assessment tools of university students. It seeks to explore the implications of core competency assessment tools for engineering students and then lay the foundation for competency-based teaching and learning at engineering colleges. And also it defines the concepts of core competencies and each core competency of engineering students through prior research analysis of competence, core competence, and core competence of university students. The primary core competency assessment tool consisted of sub-factors and questions of core competencies. It were modified through the expert validation of the primary one and then it was used as a core competency assessment tools for preliminary investigation. The core competency assessment tools for engineering students are consisted of 6 competencies, 22 sub-factors, and 91 questions. There are core competencies as follows: engineering basic competencies, major engineering competencies, self-management competencies, communication competencies, interpersonal competencies, global competencies. The preliminary survey was conducted on 426 engineering students attending the Engineering Education FESTA 2019. The preliminary findings were derived by conducting exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, question characteristics analysis, and reliability analysis for validation. The core competency assessment tools developed through this study can be used to verify the effectiveness of the curriculum and programs for students at engineering colleges. In addition, the developed core competencies, sub-factors, and questions can be utilized in a series of courses that design, conduct, and evaluate engineering curricula and programs as competency-based curriculum. The significance of this study is to lay the groundwork for providing competency-based education engineering students to develop core competencies.
