      • Development of a noninvasive KIM-1-based live-imaging technique in the context of a drug-induced kidney-injury mouse model

        The development of reliable methods to diagnose acute kidney injury is essential to allow the adoption of early therapeutic interventions and evaluate their effectiveness. Based on the fact that kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) expression levels in kidneys are markedly upregulated early after a damage event, here we developed a noninvasive KIM- 1-based molecular imaging technique to detect kidney injury. First, we took advantage of a phage-display platform to select small peptides demonstrating a specific high binding affinity to KIM-1. The promising candidate was conjugated with fluorescent probes, and its imaging potential was validated in vitro and in vivo. This peptide, with the sequence CNRRRA, not only showed a high imaging potential in vitro, allowing a strong detection of KIM-1 expressing cells by microscopy and flow cytometry but also generated a strong kidney-specific signal in live-imaging in vivo experiments in the context of a drug-induced kidney-injury mouse model. Our data overall suggest that the CNRRRA peptide is a promising probe to use in the context of in vivo imaging for the detection of KIM-1 overexpression in damaged kidneys.

        강변여과에서 파일럿규모 수평집수관의 수두분포 연구

        강변여과용 수평집수관을 모사하는 파일럿 규모의 모래통 실험을 수행하였으며, 다양한 출구유속에 대한 수평집수관에서의 수두분포를 구하였다. Kim24)이 수행한 실험실 규모의 수평집수관에서의 손실수두에 Kim25)이 개발한 이론 즉, 작은 규모의 수평집수관에서의 손실수두로부터 큰 집수관의 손실수두를 계산하는 방법을 적용하여 본 연구의 관측치와 비교함으로써 Kim25)의 이론이 타당함을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 이들의 이론을 적용하여 본 연구에서의 관측치로부터 실규모 집수관에서의 수두분포를 구하는 방안을 예를 들어 설명함으로써 강변여과의 수평집수관 설계방법을 제시하였다. A pilot-scale sand-box experiment simulating a lateral of collector well used in riverbank filtration was performed, and hydraulic head distributions along the lateral were measured according to the various drawdowns at the well. The results of this experiment were compared to the predicted values obtained using a theory previously developed by Kim25) in order for its validation. This theory predicts the head loss in a large-scale lateral given the loss in a small-scale one, and to have actual values for comparison, the results from a lab-scale experiment previously performed by Kim24) were employed. Comparing the experimental values to the extrapolated value indeed confirmed the validity of the theory. A procedure to determine the hydraulic head distribution of a practical-scale lateral was also presented applying the theory to the experimental result of this study in an effort to show the process of lateral design for riverbank filtration.

      • C 의과대학에서 문제강의에 대한 학생들의 직접평가가 강의개선에 미친 영향

        연구목적: 팀티칭에 근거한 통합강의는 최근 대부분의 의과대학에서 시행되는 강의형태이다. 그러나 기 존에 사용되고 있는 온라인 강의평가 방식은 이러한 강의 특성에서 나타나는 문제점을 파악하기 힘든 점이 있다. 본 대학에서는 팀티칭에 의한 통합강의에서 문제강의를 직접적으로 파악하는 ‘문제강의 직 접평가지’를 개발하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 새로이 개발된 문제강의 직접평가지가 강의개선에 끼친 영 향력을 알아보고자 하는 것이었다. 연구방법: 2007년 2학기부터 2009년 2학기까지 충북대학교 의과대학 1, 2학년을 대상으로 문제강의 직접평가지에 의한 강의평가를 실시하였다. 평가지 질문 중에서 두 가지 객관식 질문에 대한 답변을 분 석대상으로 선택하였다. 질문은 첫째, ‘가장 유익하고 도움이 많이 되었던 강의들은 무엇입니까?’와 둘 째, ‘가장 어렵거나 이해하기 힘들었던 강의들은 무엇입니까?’였다. 강의평가를 실시한 강좌들 중에서 2 년 이상 연속적으로 강좌구조와 평가지의 객관식 질문 형식이 변하지 않은 14개의 강좌를 분석대상으로 하였다. 각각 연도의 평균 긍정비율을 다른 연도의 것과 카이제곱 검정 방법을 사용하여 비교하였다. 결과: 14개의 강좌 중에서 시작연도와 마침 연도 간에 긍정비율이 증가된 경우는 13개 강좌였다. 그 러나 통계적으로 의미가 있는 경우는 5개 강좌에서 나타났다. 결론: 문제강의 직접평가지에 의한 문제강의를 판별해 내는 방법은 단기간에 통합강좌의 개선에 효과 적이다.

      • Accuracy on the Edge Detection of Topography for Digital Map Manufacture

        Currently, digital maps in the metropolitan area are supposed to be revised and renewed every two years, but it is difficulty for the renewal of current information to keep pace with the quickly changing society and so, one of the alternative methods being discussed is a digital map produced using high resolution satellites. The biggest problem in the production of digital maps using high resolution satellite images is the difficulty of production in vector resource format through edge detection of satellite images, a Raster data. In this study, topographical boundaries were detected through edge detection of the satellite image, and after vectorliezing using the screen digitizing method, the results were evaluated and compared to the digital map from the NGII(National Geographic Information Institute) for accuracy.

        우리는 대중 매체를 통해 각국의 노인 인구의 증가 현상에 대하여 많은 보도를 접하고 있다. 이러한 사회적 현상은 이미 서구 선진국에서 뿐만 아니라 우리나라에도 사회적으로 큰 문제로 작용하고 있다. 특히 노인의 노화로인한 많은 문제점을 해결하기 위한 많은 연구들이 실시되고 있고, 체력의 중요성을 강조하고 있다. 따라서 체력 측정시에 노인들에게 적용시킬수 있는 다양한 방법들이 연구되고 있는바 우리나라에서도 이러한 서구 선진국의 연구를 응용하여 우리에게 알맞게 적용시킬 필요성이 있는바이다. 대표적인 이유를 꼽자면 바로 노인의 체력과 체격이 서구인들과는 맞지 않는다는 점이다. 따라서 우리나라 노인들의 체력과 체격에 적합한 연구방법 및 체력 측정법을 개발하여 적용시키게 된다면 많은 도움을 가져올 수 있을것으로 기대된다. 또한 그러한 많은 연구들이 현재 우리나라에도 직면해 있고 사회적으로 큰 문제가 되고 있는 노인 문제를 조금이나마 해결하는데 도움이 될 것으로 기대되며, 노화연구에서 체력측정을 실시하려는 다른 연구자들에게도 좋은 참고 자료가 될것으로 생각된다. To overcome and solving the social problem that the increasing Korean elderly peoples. so We must have to apply other countries a method of fitness test in elderly. The purpose of this study was to apply to method of fitness test of study in elderly for Korean from foreign state study in method of fitness test in elderly. Generally, there were a lots of method of fitness test in elderly in foreign study. especially, it was utilized as follow that the 30-Second chair stand and Arm curl test for Strength. 6-minute walk and 2-minute step test for cardiovascular fitness. chair sit-and-reach, Back scratch and Sit and reach test for flexibility. 8-foot up-and go test for agility. also Body mass index, Vertical Jump, Manipulating pegs in a pegboard, Walking around two chair in a figure, Trunk flexion from a standing position, Balance on one leg with eyes open and so on. So, we might be apply the propose methods previously, If that is so, we could to solving the social problem that the increasing Korean elderly peoples. Thus, I will expect that this study will be a good references for other researchers in aging.

      • 육지한우의 제주지역 적응성 연구 : 1. 육지한우 제주도입시 Theileria sergenti 저항성에 관한 연구

        This study was conducted to fine the adaptatbility of Korean Native Cattle lacking in the resistance ability to Theileriosis being occured by ticks born parasites in Cheju Island. Data used in this study were collected from none-treated and treated Thpileria sergenti blood vaccine to Korean Native Cattle, Cheju Native Cattle and Cheju Native CattlexBrahman crossbreds during the grazing season in 1988. The parasitemia level of Theileria sergenti in artificial immunized Korean Native Cattle were fewer than none-treated Korean Cattle's, due to immunizing effects. the RBC and PCV reduction were prevented, and average daily gain's 0.25kg in artificial immunized Korean Native Cattle was higher than those of 0.20kg in none-treated. The mortality numbers were one in artificial immunized Korean Native Cattle and four in none-treated Korean Native Cattle. The resistance ability of Theileriosis of Korean Native Cattle was the weakest and Cheju Native Cattle×Brah-man crossbred was the strongest among the breeds.

      • 電解法에 依한 Polyvinyl Alcohol 含有 廢水處理에 關한 硏究

        The purpose of this study is to investigate into the electrolytic treatment of polyvinyl alcohol wastewater. In order to remove PVA from wastewater by electrolytic treatment, Fe electrode was used as a soluble electrode for this study. The results of this sutdy are as follows: 1. PVA was removed nearly to 100% as the value of ampere hour concentration was more than 0.5 Ahr/ℓ. 2. PVA was removed quickly as the current density was rised, the electrode distance was approached, NaCl was added and the initial pH of wastewater was above 7. 3. Regardless of the initial pH of wastewater, the pH of wastewater after electorolytic treatment was among 10 and 11. So, it is necessary to neutralize the treated water.

      • 박스-젠킨스법을 이용한 소양호 수질변화 시계열분석

        Statistical models were developed using the Box-Jenkins time series analysis to simulate changes of water qualities in Soyang Lake. The water qualities included in the models are total phosphorus(TP) and chlorophyll-a(CA). The model development was based on the data obtained from Feb. 1987 to Oct. 1992 for TP and from Mar. 1985 to Oct. 1992 for CA, and followed the typical procedures of the Box-Jenkins method including identification, estimation, and diagnostic check. From the computed autocorrelation function (ACF) and partial autocorrelation function(PACF), it was determined that the TP model should have two autoregression (AR) parameters and one moving average(MA) parameter, and two seasonal AR parameters and one seasonal MA parameter. The CA model was determined to have two AR parameters and two MA parameters, and two seasonal AR parameters and on seasonal MA parameter. Both models had seasonality of twelve months and were formulates as SARIMA(2,1,1)×(2,1,1)₁₂for TP and SARIMA(2,0,2)×(2,1,1)₁₂ for CA. The models were validated by testing normality and independency of the residuals. The model prediction ability was tested using the data collected from Nov. 1992 to July 1994 both for TP and CA. There were good agreements between the model predictions and the field measurements. Most of the predicted values were located within the 95% confidence limits except certain period of chlorophyll-a. It was concluded from this study that the Box-Jenkins time series analysis would be an effective tool to understand and simulate the long term variations of water qualities in Soyand Lake.

      • 풍동실험을 위한 LabVIEW 응용 온라인 계측시스템의 개발

        On-line measurement systems were newly developed for the performing effective wind tunnel experiments by utilizing the LabVIEW(Laboratory Virtual Instruments Engineering Workbench) system. As a result, instead of post-data-processing procedures based on Fortran programming which was commonly adopted in conventional measurement systems, wind tunnel experiments can be carried out on window-based PC operating systems and thus much time and effort required in analyzing fluid flow field can be successfully reduced. Furthermore, by utilizing the web publishing tool which is provided by the LabVIEW, it is possible to monitor and to control each measurement step via internet web pages from the remote area other than the laboratory in which experiments are carried out.
