In this study, the anti-lipidperoxidative effects of G009, a polysaccharide extracted from Ganoderma lucidum IY009, was determined in ascorbic acid-Fe^(2+)-adenosine 5-diphosphate-intoxicated rat. In a model of ascorbic acid-Fe^(2+)-adenosine 5-diphosphate-induced hepatotoxicity in rat, G009 exhibited anti-lipidperoxidative effect in rat liver homogenate, and that malondialdehyde values of the liver homogenate inhibited from 48.1 % to 74.8% in comparison to controls (p<0.05). The malondialdehyde formation in serum inhibited 66.5% at 100 mg/kg of G009. Also, serum levels of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase and glutamic pyruvic transaminase in peroxidizer-induced rats treated with G009 was decreased compared with control. Especially, the formation of lipid peroxides in serum was related to glutamic pyruvic transaminase levels. These results suggest that G009 has a protective effect on ascorbic acid-Fe^(2+)-adenosine 5-diphosphate-induced hepatic injury through an inhibition of lipid peroxidation in liver.

We report on direct finding of how the morphology (i.e. filopodia width) of CD4+ T lymphocytes correlates with the size of the quartz nanohohole arrays (QNHAs, 140, 200, 270, and 550 nm in diameter) via scanning electron microscopy (SEM). This research exhibits that the filopodia of CD4+ T-lymphocytes extended on the QNHA substrates were observed to increase in width by increasing the size of QNHA in diameter from 140 to 550 nm. This strong linear response (R2=0.988, n = 6) in filopodia`s width of surface-bound CD4+ Tcells with topographical structures of QNHA can be explained by contact guidance between the cells and solid-state substrates. Furthermore, this research suggests that the protruded filopodia of surface-bound T-lymphocytes can be used as a biosensor for sensing the topographical information of the nano-patterned substrates.

A polysaccharide, G009, isolated from Ganoderma lucidum IY 009, was subjected to investigating on general pharmacology. This material at the large oral doses of 1000 and 2000 ㎎/㎏ in mice did not exhibit any abnormal behaviors and another effects on central nervous system. It also had no influences on hexobarbital-induced sleeping time, rotarod test and spontaneous activity test at each oral dose of 1000 ㎎/㎏ in mice. No effects on the body temperature and on acetic acid induced writhing syndrome in mice were observed with its oral administration at 1000 ㎎/㎏, and the convulsions induced by strychnine and pentetrazole were not inhibited at its oral doses of 1000 ㎎/㎏ in mice. The solution of G009 as given intravenously at the doses of 30 and 60 ㎎/㎏ in rabbit had no influences on blood pressure and respiration rates and depth. In isolated organs of rat uterus and fundus muscles and guinea pig ileum and trachea, it did not show any contraction or relaxation at the concentrations of 2 X 10^(-3) g/㎖, and the contractive actions produced by oxytocin, acetylcholine, serotonin and histamine were not inhibited at the same doses. This material showed no effect on intestinal propulsion test in mice and gastric secretion in rats at the oral doses of 1000 ㎎/㎏. However, it is interesting that the material exhibited potent inhibition of acidified aspirin induced gastric damage at the doses of 500 and 1000 ㎎/㎏ in rats.

The composite materials are being utilized on the various areas. Here, the paint used for wind blades was experimentally analyzed which data agreed with known data. Using these characterized material properties, the characteristics were successfully demonstrated through NDE behavior propagating through the painting materials to acquire the refractive index. Both ultrasonic and T-ray techniques were used to analyze the thickness of paint on the GFRP (Glass fiber reinforcement plastics) composites. The non-destructive evaluation (NDE) technique has been established for measuring the thickness. Good results have been obtained in tests on the thickness of the standard painted samples.
테이블형 다단 드롭 시스템을 이용한 저소음 보-슬래브 거푸집의 구성부재 성능 및 현장적용에 관한 실험적 연구

콘크리트 건축물 공사에 있어, 거푸집공사는 전체공사비의 10%를 차지하는 중요한 공정이다. 최근의 건축물은 대형화, 고층화가 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 거푸집공사의 고효율과 안전성을 위하여 거푸집공정의 시스템화가 이루어지고 있으나, 여전히 인명사고와 해체공정에서 발생하는 소음 민원이 빈번히 발생하고 있으며, 이러한 문제의 해결을 위하여 대부분 해외기술에 의존하여 국내 건설현장 여건을 고려하지 않는 관계로 외면되어 기존 거푸집 공법을 답습하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 공정개선, 안전성 향상 및 해체소음 저감이 가능한 슬래브, 보 전용 테이블형 다단 드롭 시스템 거푸집을 개발하고 시스템 내에 사용되는 주요 부재인 장선 멍에와 동바리의 물성을 평가하고, 이 시스템의 현장 적용을 위한 해체공정에서의 소음을 기존 공법과 비교 평가하는 연구로서 실험결과, 멍에 빔과 동바리 모두 슬래브 및 보 타설용 가설재로 사용하기에 충분한 내력이 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 평균소음도가 기존 공법에 비해 10dB(A) 이상 저감되는 것으로 확인되었으며 타설 시의 처짐량을 측정한 결과, 기존 공법 대비 처짐이 저감되는 것을 확인하였다. In concrete construction work, formwork is an important process that accounts for 10% of the total construction cost. Recent buildings are becoming bigger and higher. In order to maximize the efficiency and safety of this formwork, the system of formworking has been systematized. However, the human accidents and the noise complaints arise from dismantling processes frequently occur. In order to solve these problems, most of them are dependent on foreign technology, but they do not take into consideration the conditions of domestic construction site. In this study, we developed a table type multi-drop system form for a slab and beam which can improve the process, safety and reduction of disassembly noise, and evaluated the physical properties of the main members which are used in the system. The results of this study show that there is sufficient strength to be used as a slab and a laying material for both a yoke beam and a supporting post. The noise level is improved compared to existing method.

Recent technology and instrumentation in terahertz waves have provided a reliable field in the electromagnetic spectrum, which is explored for material evaluation and composite testing. Here, we report an investigation of terahertz waves (T-ray) for the nondestructive evaluation of various materials, such as composite materials and lumbers. The T-ray system uses time domain spectroscopy (TDS) and continuous wave. The various materials and composites investigated include non-conducting materials and composites. Terahertz signals in the TDS mode are similar to that of ultrasound; however, unlike ultrasound, a terahertz pulse can detect a smaller crack hidden behind a larger crack without the shadow effect. These exterminations were demonstrated in thick glass fiber reinforced plastics (GFRP) laminates using saw slots and flat bottom holes. Additionally, two prepared lumbers were investigated using the TDS system through image analysis and refractive index measurement. The effectiveness and limitations of T-ray for the NDE of composites are discussed.

Piston rods are key components that absorb shock and vibration energy, and provide handling stability while automotive wheels are rolling. A high-frequency heat treatment process guarantees the surface-hardening durability of piston rods. The Rockwell hardness test is performed to evaluate the degree of surface heat treatment. However, this test does not determine the hardening of the whole surface because only a part of the piston rod surface is tested. Thus, a proper nondestructive method was developed for inspecting the whole surface. The beam profile behavior was predicted by measuring the 360° full profile surface ultrasonic behavior using Rayleigh ultrasonic waves. We implemented a contact-type jig to measure the hardness, developed a simple automated operating system, and data signals were processed with LabVIEW. Finally, we implemented the ultrasonic behavior and optimal test conditions through FEM 3D simulation to produce Rayleigh ultrasonic waves.

Oil filters for vehicular parts are used under high and low temperatures as the engine is cooled, and defects can be generated with repeated changes in the operating environment and with changes in the shape, such as very high internal losses for the bolts. Visually checking for defects inside a bolt is impossible. Nondestructive evaluation methods such as eddy current testing (ECT) are recommended as a more effective way to examine inside a bolt and detect surface defects in a short amount of time. In this study, the fit bobbin coil eddy current probe was applied to checking the bolts. The bolt parameters were calculated by using a COMSOL analysis program to obtain parameters for professional interior design and fault diagnosis.
Terahertz NDE of the Defects in Thick FRP Composite Materials

A refractive mode technique was suggested for solving a refractive coefficient (n), with which refractive index of GFRP composites, balsa and epoxy. A method of wind turbine blade composites having one and two saw-cuts delaminations was utilized and scanned based on the E-field vector. The time of flight in T-ray using evaluating a T-ray time-domain spectroscopy with the wind turbine blade. Also, the difference of E-field influence was compared with that in the GFRP and CFRP composites.
