Research on Tourist Needs Based on Food Docent-Guided Tour - focused Guangzhou Xiguan

        Ding-Ding Chen,Wan-Sok Jang,Young-Hwan Pan 한국융합학회 2020 한국융합학회논문지 Vol.11 No.12

Under the background of regional cultural development and cities' diversity, various tourist destinations attract tourists' attention and visit by mining their unique folk culture. As a part of sustainable tourism, gastronomy tourism can provide residents and tourists services only by improving the residents' facilities without damaging the environment. However, the existing gastronomy tourism only makes tourists in the folk scene, and tourists can not overstep the cultural differences caused by intersubjectivity to experience the core of folk culture. This paper attempts to use the observation method, cross-subject study, and case study to study the role of food docent-guided tours in understanding folk culture. Moreover, the docent-guided tour studies how the docent can help tourists go deep into the core of folk culture better to realize the sustainable development goal of gastronomy tourism.

The effect of a desensitizer and $CO_2$ laser irradiation on bond performance between eroded dentin and resin composite

        Ding, Meng,Shin, Sang-Wan,Kim, Min-Soo,Ryu, Jae-Jun,Lee, Jeong-Yol The Korean Academy of Prosthodonitics 2014 The Journal of Advanced Prosthodontics Vol.6 No.3

PURPOSE. This study was aimed to evaluate effect of the desensitizing pretreatments on the micro-tensile bond strengths (${\mu}TBS$) to eroded dentin and sound dentin. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Forty-two extracted molars were prepared to form a flat dentin surface, and then they were divided into two groups. Group I was stored in distilled water while group II was subjected to a pH cycling. Each group was then subdivided into three subgroups according to desensitizing pretreatment used: a) pretreatment with desensitizer (Gluma); b) pretreatment with $CO_2$ Laser (Ultra Dream Pluse); c) without any pretreatment. All prepared surfaces were bonded with Single Bond 2 and built up with resin composite (Filtek Z250). The micro-tensile bond test was performed. Fracture modes were evaluated by stereomicroscopy. Pretreated surfaces and bonded interfaces were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The data obtained was analyzed by two-way ANOVA (${\alpha}$=0.05). RESULTS. For both sound and eroded dentin, samples treated with desensitizer showed the greatest ${\mu}TBS$, followed by samples without any treatment. And samples treated with $CO_2$ laser showed the lowest ${\mu}TBS$. SEM study indicated that teeth with eroded dentin appeared prone to debonding, as demonstrated by existence of large gaps between adhesive layers and dentin. CONCLUSION. Pretreatment with Gluma increased the ${\mu}TBS$ of Single Bond 2 for eroded and sound teeth. $CO_2$ laser irradiation weakened bond performance for sound teeth but had no effect on eroded teeth.

      • Leak Detection In Pipeline via Sliding Motion

Wan Rahiman,Zhentao Ding 제어로봇시스템학회 2017 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2017 No.10

This paper presents the design and application of sliding motion into a circle criterion observer based for a class of uncertainty system using linear matrix inequalities (LMI). A model-based is used to detect a faulty section in pipeline systems is proposed. Fault diagnosis is accomplished by means of a bank of estimators, which provide estimates of parameters that describe plant and faulty section. Once in the appropriate form and under certain assumptions, nonlinear observer is designed for fault detection, isolation and estimation (FDIE). The simulation results show that the proposed observer works more effectively such that the threshold in the pipeline systems can be set with much larger value to avoid false alarm.

Experimental study on air-water countercurrent flow limitation in a vertical tube based on measurement of film thickness behavior

        Wan, Jie,Sun, Wan,Deng, Jian,Pan, Liang-ming,Ding, Shu-hua Korean Nuclear Society 2021 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.53 No.6

The gas-liquid counter-current flow limitation (CCFL) is closely related to efficient and safety operation of many equipment in industrial cycle. Air-water countercurrent flow experiments were performed in a tube with diameter of 25 mm to understand the triggering mechanism of CCFL. A parallel electrode probe was utilized to measure film thickness whereby the time domain and frequency domain characteristics of liquid film was obtained. The amplitude of the interface wave is small at low liquid flow rate while it becomes large at high liquid flow rate after being disturbed by the airflow. The spectral characteristic curve shows a peak-shaped distribution. The crest exists between 0 and 10 Hz and the amplitude decreases with the frequency increase. The analysis of visual observation and characteristic of film thickness indicate that two flooding mechanisms were identified at low and high liquid flow rate, respectively. At low liquid flow rate, the interfacial waves upward propagation is responsible for the formation of CCFL onset. While flooding at high liquid flow rate takes place as a direct consequence of the liquid bridging in tube due to the turbulent flow pattern. Moreover, it is believed that there is a transition region between the low and high liquid flow rate.

      • Bisphosphonates for Osteoporosis in Nonmetastatic Prostate Cancer Patients Receiving Androgen-deprivation Therapy: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

        Ding, Hui,Yang, Li,Du, Wan,Teng, Yang,Fu, Sheng-Jun,Tao, Yan,Lu, Jian-Zhong,Wang, Zhi-Ping Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.5

This systematic review was conducted to assess the efficacy and safety of bisphosphonates for prevention and treatment of osteopenia or osteoporosis in men with non-metastatic prostate cancer receiving androgendeprivation therapy. We searched for randomised controlled trials (RCTs) of bisphosphonates compared with placebo from Pubmed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, and ISI - Science Citation Index. Meta-analyses of prespecified outcomes (bone mineral density, fractures, and adverse events) were performed using Review Manager. Ten RCTs with a total patient population of 1,017 were identified. There was generally more improvement in bone mineral density of the lumbar spine for patients who received bisphosphonate treatment than placebo or other medical treatment at 12 months (WMD 6.02,95%CI 5.39 to 6.65). Similar effects were also observed for total hip, trochanter or femoral neck bone mineral density. However, there was no significant reduction in fractures. Fever and gastrointestinal symptoms were the most common adverse events (10.4% vs. 1.2%; 0.10% vs. 0.03%). Currently, our meta-analysis suggested that oral and intravenous bisphosphonates caused a rapid increase in spine and hip or femoral BMD in non-metastatic prostate cancer patients receiving androgen-deprivation therapy. Fever and gastrointestinal symptoms were common with the use of bisphosphonates. These short-term trials (maximum of 12 months) did not show fracture reduction. In future, more efficient performance of higher quality, more rigorous, large sample, long-term randomised controlled trials (>12 months) are needed where outcomes are detailed.

      • Enhanced Corrosion Resistance of PVD-CrN Coatings by ALD Sealing Layers

        Wan, Zhixin,Zhang, Teng Fei,Ding, Ji Cheng,Kim, Chang-Min,Park, So-Won,Yang, Yang,Kim, Kwang-Ho,Kwon, Se-Hun SPRINGER SCIENCE + BUSINESS MEDIA 2017 NANOSCALE RESEARCH LETTERS Vol.12 No.1

<P>Multilayered hard coatings with a CrN matrix and an Al2O3, TiO2, or nanolaminate-Al2O3/TiO2 sealing layer were designed by a hybrid deposition process combined with physical vapor deposition (PVD) and atomic layer deposition (ALD). The strategy was to utilize ALD thin films as pinhole-free barriers to seal the intrinsic defects to protect the CrN matrix. The influences of the different sealing layers added in the coatings on the microstructure, surface roughness, and corrosion behaviors were investigated. The results indicated that the sealing layer added by ALD significantly decreased the average grain size and improved the corrosion resistance of the CrN coatings. The insertion of the nanolaminate-Al2O3/TiO2 sealing layers resulted in a further increase in corrosion resistance, which was attributed to the synergistic effect of Al2O3 and TiO2, both acting as excellent passivation barriers to the diffusion of corrosive substances.</P>

      • SEPT12 Interacts with SEPT6 and This Interaction Alters the Filament Structure of SEPT6 in Hela Cells

Ding, Xiangming,Yu, Wenbo,Liu, Ming,Shen, Suqin,Chen, Fang,Wan, Bo,Yu, Long Korean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biol 2007 Journal of biochemistry and molecular biology Vol.40 No.6

Septins are a family of conserved cytoskeletal GTPase forming heteropolymeric filamentous structure in interphase cells, however, the mechanism of assembly are largely unknown. Here we described the characterization of SEPT12, sharing closest homology to SEPT3 and SEPT9. It was revealed that subcelluar localization of SEPT12 varied at interphase and mitotic phase. While SEPT12 formed filamentous structures at interphase, it was localized to the central spindle and to midbody during anaphase and cytokinesis, respectively. In addition, we found that SEPT12 can interact with SEPT6 in vitro and in vivo, and this interaction was independent of the coiled coil domain of SEPT6. Further, co-expression of SEPT12 altered the filamentous structure of SEPT6 in Hela cells. Therefore, our result showed that the interaction between different septins may affect the septin filament structure.

      • Operational performance evaluation of bridges using autoencoder neural network and clustering

        Chunfeng Wan,Songtao Xue,Huachen Jiang,Liyu Xie,Da Fang,Shuai Gao,Kang Yang,YouLiang Ding 국제구조공학회 2024 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.33 No.3

To properly extract the strain components under varying operational conditions is very important in bridge health monitoring. The abnormal sensor readings can be correctly identified and the expected operational performance of the bridge can be better understood if each strain components can be accurately quantified. In this study, strain components under varying load conditions, i.e., temperature variation and live-load variation are evaluated based on field strain measurements collected from a real concrete box-girder bridge. Temperature-induced strain is mainly regarded as the trend variation along with the ambient temperature, thus a smoothing technique based on the wavelet packet decomposition method is proposed to estimate the temperature-induced strain. However, how to effectively extract the vehicle-induced strain is always troublesome because conventional threshold setting-based methods cease to function: if the threshold is set too large, the minor response will be ignored, and if too small, noise will be introduced. Therefore, an autoencoder framework is proposed to evaluate the vehicleinduced strain. After the elimination of temperature and vehicle-induced strain, the left of which, defined as the model error, is used to assess the operational performance of the bridge. As empirical techniques fail to detect the degraded state of the structure, a clustering technique based on Gaussian Mixture Model is employed to identify the damage occurrence and the validity is verified in a simulation study.

A New Iterative Least Squares Parameter Estimation Approach for Equation-error Autoregressive Systems

        Lijuan Wan,Feng Ding,Ximei Liu,Chunping Chen 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2020 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.18 No.3

This paper investigates the identification methods for controlled autoregressive systems with autoregressive noise (i.e., equation-error autoregressive systems) from given input and output data. By applying the iterative technique and the hierarchical identification principle, an iterative least squares identification algorithm is presented and a recursive generalized least squares algorithm is given for comparison. The basic idea is to replace the unknown noise terms in the information vector with their estimated residuals. The simulation test results show the effectiveness of these algorithms.
