The basic way to improve the performance of a superconducting current limiter is to apply and evaluate a superconducting device that is appropriate to the superconducting current limiter. Among the many types of superconducting devices, the YBCO thin film wire has excellent current-limiting performance that is appropriate for actual system application. For the application of the YBCO thin film wire to superconducting current limiters, its current-limiting performance as a unit device must be accurately evaluated, and measures to improve its current-limiting performance must be sought. Accordingly, to evaluate the current-limiting performance of the YBCO thin film wire, this study was conducted to evaluate its resistance-increasing trend, V<SUB>max</SUB>, T<SUB>r</SUB>, I<SUB>max</SUB>, I<SUB>qt</SUB>, and current-limiting rate as a unit device, after which the electric coupling condition that consists of a core and windings was used to evaluate the current-limiting performance of the YBCO thin film wire.

This paper proposes a new dynamic compaction algorithm, which is applied to IDDQ testing for intra-gate bridging faults in CMOS VLSI. The proposed algorithm generates a test pattern for a target fault, then χ_gates are selected to detect additional faults. Backtrace using random and four methods of controllability are rotated to get a further reduced test set. Experimental results for ISCAS'85 benchmark circuits showed that close-to-minimum test sets were obtained by the proposed algorithm.

For the purpose of reducing development period about product and minimizing risk about design error, detail design and interference check are accomplished by FEM analysis and CAD software.

Selection and application recommendations of lightning arresters for DC electric traction vehicles are presented. To decide arrester specification such as continuous operating voltage (COV, U<SUB>C</SUB>), rated voltage (U<SUB>R</SUB>), and nominal discharge current (I<SUB>n</SUB>), variations of system voltage and surge currents flowing arresters were analyzed in running-service of traction vehicles. System voltages increased up to 1,800 V during anti-breaking. Surge currents recorded 3 times per running-service-route and their magnitudes were ranges of 150 A ~ 2 ㎄. From the field measurement and consideration of EN50163, COV, U<SUB>C</SUB>, and U<SUB>R</SUB> for the 1,500 V<SUB>DC</SUB> traction vehicles were proposed.

2017년에 도입 20주년을 맞은 한국어능력시험(TOPIK:Test of Proficiency in Korean)의 누적 응시자가 200만 명을 넘어섰다고 밝히고 있다. 이는 문자로서 ‘한글’을 공부하는 사람의 수가 그만큼 많다는 것을 의미한다. 이러한 현 시점에서 문자로서의 ‘한글’에 대해 광범위 하지만 일부분이라도 각 영역에 대해서 외국어(특히 영어)로 정리할 필요성이 있다고 판단하였다. 이를 위해 신중하게 재고되어야 할 부분에 대해서 네 가지 정도의 큰 주제로 다시 한 번 정리하고자 하였다. 첫 번째로 훈민정음의 창제 시기와 반포에 대해서 살펴보았다. 최만리의 상소문과 조선왕조실록을 살펴보았을 때 의례적 행위의 의미를 지니는 ‘반포’라는 용어가 사용된 적이 없었던 것을 근거로 훈민정음과 훈민정음 해례본의 완성의 의미를 명확하게 구분해야 할 것이며, 해설서가 완성되었다는 것을 반드시 반포의 개념으로 볼 수 없다고 판단하였다. 두 번째로 훈민정음의 창제자가 세종대왕이었다는 친제설을 확인하였으며, 세 번째로는 훈민정음의 창제 목적과 그와 관련 있는 최만리의 상소문의 목적을 정인지 서문과 비교하여 언문 사용 확대 반대라는 근거에 힘을 싣고자 하였다. 마지막으로 ‘ㄱ,ㄴ,ㄷ’같은 낱글자가 고전자에 기원했다는 학설이 전면 재고될 필요성에 대해 언급하였다. It was announced that the accumulated number of test-takers for TOPIC (Test of Proficiency in Korean), which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2017, exceeded 2million people. This means that there is a high number of people studying ‘Hangul’ as an alphabet. As a result, we determined that it is necessary to clarify each do main of ‘Hangul’ as an alphabet at this point in a foreign language(especially English), although it is a wide scope. To do so, I reclassified the areas into four broad topics to reexamine them carefully. First, I examined the invention and promulgation period of Hunminjeongeum. Based on the fact that the word ‘promulgation’ was never used in Choe Manri’s opposition grievance and the Annals of Joseon Dynasty, I determined that the meanings of Hunminjeongeum and the completion of Haerye Edition must be distinguished clearly, because the completion of Haerye (handbook in present-day term) cannot always been regarded as promulgation. Second, I confirmed the ‘direct theory’ that King Sejong was the creator of Hunminjeongeum. Third, I compared the objectives of creating Hunminjeongeum and Choe Manri’s opposition grievance with Jeong Inji Introduction, trying to support the basis of the opposition to the spread of Eonmun use. Finally, I raised the necessity to entirely reexamine the theory that individual letters such as ‘ㄱ, ㄴ, ㄷ’ originated from the Old Seal Script.

<P>A pepper esterase (<I>PepEST</I>) gene was introduced into creeping bentgrass (<I>Agrostis stolonifera</I>) by <I>Agrobacterium</I>‐mediated transformation. Purified recombinant PepEST proteins were sufficient to inhibit the growth of the fungal pathogens <I>Rhizoctonia solani</I> AG2‐2 (IIIB) (causing brown patch) and <I>Sclerotinia homoeocarpa</I> (dollar spot), but not the oomycete responsible for pythium blight, <I>Pythium aphanidermatum</I>. PepEST proteins were most effective against <I>R.?solani</I>. After genetic transformation of creeping bentgrass with <I>PepEST</I>, the genomic integration of transgenes <I>bar</I> and <I>PepEST</I> was confirmed by Southern blot analysis, and their expression was also validated by northern blot and western blot analyses. Disease severity on <I>R.?solani</I>‐inoculated leaves of transgenic plants was <10% compared to <I>ca</I>. 50% in non‐transgenic plants. Microscopic observation of infected leaves indicated that PepEST inhibited the growth of hyphae upon fungal infection.</P>

PURPOSE: This paper describes the effects of the myofascial release (MFR) approach in a 20-year-old female patient with neuroforaminal encroachment and regional kyphosis in the cervical area, who also had neck pain. METHODS: A 20-year-old female presented with the chief complaint of neck pain while studying with a level of seven on the rating analogue scale (RAS) and was not taking any drugs or undergoing treatment for the control of neck pain prior to visiting. The cervical radiograph demonstrated neuroforaminal encroachment from C4-5. The patient showed 3.5° kyphosis at C4-5 and 22.9° lordosis at C2-7 according to the Harrison posterior tangent method. The anterior head translation (AHT) was 13.9mm. She reported pain of RAS 5 at the scapular medial border while rotating her neck in the left direction and flexing forward. The patient was treated a total 16 times, three times/week for six weeks using the MFR approach. RESULTS: After the treatment sessions, studying without pain was possible for approximately two hours, but after approximately two hours of studying, she experienced pain of RAS 6 and a stiff feeling in front of the neck. Neuroforaminal encroachment was not detected in the radiographs taken after applying MFR. Improvement of C4-5 kyphosis was noted (from 3.5° kyphosis to 3.8° lordosis). AHT was decreased by 13.6 mm (from 13.9 mm to 0.3 mm). The pain with motion had disappeared. CONCLUSION: The MFR approach in this patient with neuroforaminal encroachment could reduce the pain related to motion and restore the regional cervical lordosis.
