        태안해안국립공원 학암포 지역의 조류 현황

        서해안 육상지역을 통과하는 조류의 이동생태를 파악하기 위해, 2014년 7월부터 2015년 6월까지 태안해안국립공원 학암포 지역의 조류상을 조사하였다. 조사 결과 관찰된 조류는 총 14목 30과 88종 23,230개체이며, 평균 조사일당 159.7개체가 관찰되었다. 전체 우점종은 괭이갈매기 Larus crassirostris 21.1%, 되새 Fringilla montifringilla 18.5%, 박새 Parus major 12.7%, 붉은머리오목눈이 Paradoxornis webbianus 8.2%, 노랑턱멧새 Emberiza elegans 5.8% 순이었다. 이동시기인 5월과 10월에는 각각 56종, 조사일당 평균 310.5개체로 가장 많은 종과 개체수가 기록되었다. 종과 개체수가 가장 적은 시기는 여름철인 8월로, 기록된 종 수는 24종이며 조사일당 평균 95개체가 관찰되었다. 종풍부도(R ) 지수는 가장 많은 종이 관찰된 5월에 가장 높았으나, 종다양도(H )와 종균등도(E )는 오히려 이동시기에 낮은 편으로 나타났으며, 이는 일부 상위 우점종의 개체수가 월등히 증가했기 때문인 것으로 판단된다. 환경부, 문화재청, IUCN 등이 지정한 멸종위기 및 법정보호종은 총 9종이 관찰되었다. From July 2014 to Jun 2015, bird survey was conducted in Hakampo, Taeanhaean National Park. A total of 23,230 and 159.7 per day of birds representing 14 orders, 30 families, 88 species were observed. The most abundant species were the Black-tailed Gull Larus crassirostris (21.1%), the Brambling Fringilla montifringilla (18.5%), the Great Tit Parus major (12.7%), the Vinous-throated Parrotbill Paradoxornis webbianus (8.2%), Yellow-throated Bunting Emberiza elegans (5.8%). The number of species and individual was the highest in May and October, respectively, as 56 species and 310.5 individual per day were recorded. According to Korean Ministry of Environment, Cultural Herigage Adinistration of Korea and IUCN Red List, a total of 9 protected species were recorded during the survey.

        수도관의 생물막 형성에 미치는 잔류염소와 파이프 재질의 영향

        This laboratory study examined the impact of free chlorine residual and pipe material on the formation of biofilm in drinking water distribution pipe surfaces. Result of heterotrophic plate counts(HPC) of the biofilm in the tap water- supplied reactor averaged 2.17×105CFU/cm2 on PVC and 2.43×105CFU/cm2 on STS 316, respectively. HPCs on the surface exposed to the tap water containing 0.2mg/L of free chlorinne residual averaged 4.24×104CFU/cm2 on PVC and 6.54×104CFU/cm2 on STS 316, respectively Average of HPC/Total direct counts in the tap water-supplied reactor ranged from 1.08%(PVC) to 1.26%(STS 316) and from 0.38%(PVC) to 0.65%(STS 316) in the reactor supplemented with disinfectant, resfectively. No correlation was observed between disinfectant addition and biofilm density. With regard to the biofilm formation, little difference existed between PVC and STS 316. Yellow and red pigmented bacteria were the dominant expressions in bulk fluid, whereas non-pigmented bacteria were found dominant in the biofilm. Pink/red pigmented bacteria were found to be facultative anaerobic, while yellow pigmented bacteria and non-pigmented bacteria were found to be obligate aerobic.

      • Phanerochaete chrysosporium의 액체 배양 및 Lignin Peroxidase 생산

        This study characterizes the growth of white rot fungi Phanerochaete chrysosporium IFO 31249 and lignin peroxidase(LiP) activity in different submerged culture media. P. chrysosporium was grown in the form of pellet of various sizes from a spore inoculum under shaking liquid culture condition. While the growth of mycelia was higher under the nitrogen-sufficient culture than under the nitrogen-limited culture, ligninase activity was relatively lower. The lignin peroxidase appeared in nitrogen-limited culture and was suppressed by excess nitrogen. High level(40U/l) of lignin peroxidase activity was obtained in the growth medium containing 1.5mM veratryl alcohol, a secondary metabolite of P. chrysosporium. Lignin peroxidase production was not observed under conditions of nitrogen sufficiency or in balanced media, suggesting that control parameters could increase the activity by manipulating the secondary metabolism.

Comparison between man and woman bowling player's bodyshape, motor ability, body composition and game score from their difference of age. 1) Comparison of man's bodyshape has shown this result that 19years old bowling player had better ability of upper limb length and lower length than 17, 18 years. 2) Comparison of man's motor ability have shown this result that 17, 18, 19 years old player have the highest grip strength and motor ability in regular sequence,17 years old player has the best ability at zigzag run, 18 years old player has best ability at twist and touch. 3) Comparison of Woman's motor ability has shown this result that in order to 17, 18, 19 years old player has highest grip strength, back strength vertical jump, standing long jump, sit-ups, block transfer. 4) Comparison of capacity of a game score has shown this result that man and woman player who are in 17, 18, 19 years old have the highest ability in regular sequence.

      • 소나무(Pinus densiflora) 목질을 이용한 수용액 중의 Cu(II)흡착

        Milled Korean pine (Pinus densiflora) wood was used to evaluate its adsorption capacity of Cu(Ⅱ) ions from aqueous solution by running a series of batch experiments. Prior to the tests, the milled woods were pretreated with 1N NaOH, 1N HNO_(3), and distilled water, respectively, to examine the effect of pretreatment. Within the tested pH range between 3 and 6, copper adsorption efficiency of NaOH-treated wood(96~99%) was superior to the HNO_(3)-treated wood(19~31%) and distilled water-treated wood(18~35%). The efficiency of copper removal by wood enhanced with increasing solution pH and reached a maximum copper ion uptake at pH 5~6. Adsorption behavior of copper onto both raw and HNO_(3)-treated woods was mainly attributed to interaction with carboxylic acid group. For NaOH-treated wood, carboxylate ion produced by hydrolysis or saponification was a major functional group responsible for Cu sorption. NaOH treatment of wood changed the ester and carboxylic acid groups into carboxylate group, whereas HNO_(3) treatment did not affect the production of functional groups which could bind copper. A pseudo second-order kinetic model fitted well for the sorption of copper ion onto NaOH-treated wood. A batch isotherm test using NaOH-treated wood showed that equilibrium sorption data were better represented by the Langmuir model than the Freundlich model.

        Possibility of Wood Classification in Korean Softwood Species Using Near-infrared Spectroscopy Based on Their Chemical Compositions

        This study was to establish the interrelation between chemical compositions and near infrared (NIR) spectra for the classification on distinguishability of domestic gymnosperms. Traditional wet chemistry methods and infrared spectral analyses were performed. In chemical compositions of five softwood species including larch (Larix kaempferi), red pine (Pinus densiflora), Korean pine (Pinus koraiensis), cypress (Chamaecyparis obtu-sa), and cedar (Cryptomeria japonica), their extractives and lignin contents provided the major information for distinction between the wood species. However, depending on the production region and purchasing time of woods, chemical compositions were different even though in same species. Especially, red pine harvested from Naju showed the highest extractive content about 16.3%, whereas that from Donghae showed about 5.0%. These results were expected due to different environmental conditions such as sunshine amount, nutrients and moisture contents, and these phenomena were also observed in other species. As a result of the principal component analysis (PCA) using NIR between five species (total 19 samples), the samples were divided into three groups in the score plot based on principal component (PC) 1 and principal component (PC) 2; group 1) red pine and Korean pine, group 2) larch, and group 3) cypress and cedar. Based on the chemical composition results, it was concluded that extractive content was highly relevant to wood class-ification by NIR analysis.

        The Cytotoxicity of Eutigosides from Eurya emarginata Against HL-60 Promyelocytic Leukemia Cells

        Two phenolic glucosides, eutigoside Band eutigoside C were isolated from the fresh leaves of Eurya emarginata. These two phenolic glucosides exerted a significant inhibitory effect on the growth of HL-60 promyelocytic leukemia cells. Furthermore, when the HL-60 cells were treated with eutigoside C, several apoptotic characteristics such as DNA fragmentation, morphologic changes, and increase of the population of sub-G1 hypodiploid cells were observed. In order to understand the mechanism of apoptosis induction by eutigoside C, we examined the changes of Bcl-2 and Bax expression levels. The eutigoside C reduced BcI-2 protein and mRNA levels, but slightly increased Bax protein and mRNA levels in a time-dependent manner. When we examined the activation of caspase-3, an effector of apoptosis, the eutigoside C increased the expression of active form (19-kDa) of caspase-3 and the increase of their activities was demonstrated by the cleavage of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase, a substrate of caspase-3, to 85-kDa. The results suggest that the inhibitory effect of eutigoside C from E. emarginata on the growth of HL-60 appears to arise from the induction of apoptosis via the down-regulation of BcI-2 and the activation of caspase.

        Antioxidative Activity of Prunus sargentii Outer Bark Extractives

        The outer bark of Prunus sargentii was collected, air-dried and extracted with 70% aqueous acetone. Then it was successively partitioned with n-hexane, dichloromethane (Cl-12Cl), ethyl acetate (EtOAc) arid H20. From the EtOAc soluble fraction, four compounds were isolated by the repeated Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography. The isolated compounds were determined as (+)-catechin (1), (-)-epicatechin (2), taxifolin (3), and neosakuranin (4) by the spectroscopic analysis including `H, t3C-NMR, and 2D-NMR spectrometers. The antioxidative activities on the isolated compounds and the separated fractions were evaluated by DPPH radical scavenging assay. The crude, EtOAc, and 1-IzO soluble fractions indicated good aritioxidative potential compared to the CH2CI2 and n-hexane soluble fractions.

      • Host immune response index in gastric cancer identified by comprehensive analyses of tumor immunity

        <P>Tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) in Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated/microsatellite-unstable (MSI) gastric carcinomas (GC) constitute immune-active principal cellular components of tumor microenvironment and contribute to better prognosis. With the remarkable success of cancer immunotherapies, there is an urgent need for a comprehensive understanding of tumor-immune interactions in patients with GC in the context of host immune response. To identify GC subtype-specific immune response gene set, we tested differentially expressed genes for MSI and EBV+ GC subtypes in randomly selected test set (n = 278) in merged ACRG-SMC microarray and TCGA RNA sequencing data set. We identified Host ImmunE Response index (HIERI) consisting of 29 immune genes classifying GC patients into robust 3 groups with prognostic significance. Immune-high cluster 1 was enriched with PD-L1(High)/EBV+/MSI/TILHigh with the best clinical outcome while immune-low cluster 3 displayed worst outcome and exemplified with PD-L1(Low)/EBV-/MSS. The results were validated in the same cohort (n = 279) and independent cohort (n = 181) with RNA from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue. Unexpectedly, nearly half of GC in cluster 1 were EBV-/MSS and 10% of cluster 3 GC were EBV+/MSI GC patients, suggesting that in addition to EBV+/MSI GC subtypes, EBV-/MSS subtype also constitutes almost half of high immune cluster and would be a good candidate for immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. In contrary, almost 10% of EBV+/MSI GC patients may not respond to immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. Thus, our HIERI gene signature demonstrates the potential to subclassify tumor immunity levels, predict prognosis and help immunotherapeutic decisions.</P>
