<P>The advent of three-dimensional printing (3DP) technology has enabled the creation of a tangible and complex 3D object that goes beyond a simple 3D-shaded visualization on a flat monitor. Since the early 2000s, 3DP machines have been used only in hard tissue applications. Recently developed multi-materials for 3DP have been used extensively for a variety of medical applications, such as personalized surgical planning and guidance, customized implants, biomedical research, and preclinical education. In this review article, we discuss the 3D reconstruction process, touching on medical imaging, and various 3DP systems applicable to medicine. In addition, the 3DP medical applications using multi-materials are introduced, as well as our recent results.</P>

The vulcanizate structure of silica-filled compounds is affected by the filler-rubber interaction (FRI) due to the silica-rubber coupling reaction and the chemical crosslink density (CCD) of the matrix rubber. In this study, the vulcanizate structure changes of silica-filled compounds according to the silane and sulfur variation were quantitatively analyzed using the Flory-Rehner and Kraus equations. In efficiency vulcanization (EV) conditions with low sulfur content, FRI increased when the bis-[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]tetrasulfide (TESPT) content increased, and the CCD clearly decreased. By contrast, in semi-EV conditions with high sulfur content, as TESPT content increased, the FRI increased the same way EV conditions, but the CCD was unchanged. Based on these results, it was confirmed that FRI of the silica-filled compounds increased as TESPT content increased, but CCD decreased or retained similar values according to the vulcanization system, indicating that the formation reaction of FRI was preferred over CCD.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The structure of lead-free (1-<I>x</I>)(Bi<SUB>0.5</SUB>Na<SUB>0.5</SUB>)TiO<SUB>3</SUB>-<I>x</I>SrTiO<SUB>3</SUB> (BNT-ST<I>x</I>) ceramics was analyzed by the Rietveld method, using X-ray diffraction and neutron scattering data. The structural refinement results suggest that the crystal structure successively changes with SrTiO<SUB>3</SUB> concentration, <I>x</I>, from the rhombohedral phase (<I>x</I> =0.00) to rhombohedral and tetragonal (<I>x</I> =0.10–0.30), tetragonal and cubic (<I>x</I> =0.40–0.60), and finally cubic (<I>x</I> =0.80–1.00) phases. Correlation between the charge sensor constant (<I>d</I> <SUB>33</SUB>) and the weighted off-center value (<I>d<SUB>w</SUB> </I>) was observed, which may be attributed to the increased dipole motion in the unit cell due to an increased tendency to respond to external stimulation. Furthermore, an improved charge sensor constant (<I>d</I> <SUB>33</SUB>) of 140 pC/N was observed for BNT-ST0.20, and a large strain of 0.25% and a <I>d</I> <SUB>33</SUB> <SUP>*</SUP> value of 443 pm/V were observed from <I>x</I> =0.30.</P>

본 논문은 원격 공동 실험 시스템인 PCS(Platform for Collaborative System) 개발에 관한 연구이다. PCS는 특정 응용 분야를 목적으로 하지 않고, 모든 분야의 공동 실험 시스템을 개발할 수 있는 공동 실험 환경이다. PCS는 공동 실험에 필요한 객체인 통신, 세션, 사용자, 어플리케이션, 미디어, 메시지 객체와 이들에 대한 관리 메커니즘 함수를 가진 관리 객체로 구성된다. 관리 객체는 공동 실험 객체와 이들을 관리하는 오퍼레이션으로 구성되며, 관리 객체 사이의 상호작용을 통하여 제어 정보 및 데이터를 처리한다. 또한, PCS는 공동 실험을 위한 어플리케이션 공유 기술을 통하여 단일 사용자 어플리케이션을 다중 사용자 어플리케이션으로 활용할 수 있도록 하고, 공유 어플리케이션을 통한 원격 기기 제어 기능을 제공한다. PCS 플랫폼은 원격 공동 실험을 위한 환경을 제공하며, 여러 공동 실험 시스템의 하부 구조로 사용될 수 있다.

This paper is concerned with the development of PCS(Platform for Collaborative System), which is a platform for development of remote collaborative experiment systems. Platform does not aim at the development of special-domain applications. This system implies the common development environments which can develop all-domain applications. PCS consists of collaborative experimental objects such as communication, session, user, application, media, message object and management objects that have management functions. Management objects are made up of collaborative experimental objects and operations which manipulate control information and data. It also supports application sharing for making single user interface of experimental applications to multi-user interface. Application sharing also supports instruments control on the remote site. PCS platform supports total environments for remote collaborative experiment and can be used as infrastructure to all kinds of collaboratory systems.

Lycorma delicatula (White 1845), which has been recently introduced into Korea, is a notorious pest on grapes. This invasive insect has rapidly spread throughout central and southern Korea. To date, we have no behavioral or population genetics information, such as invasion routes and subsequent dispersal rates in Korea, to help understand and control populations of L. delicatula. Here, we have developed 15 novel microsatellite loci for L. delicatula. The isolated loci were polymorphic, with 2 to 19 alleles in 42 individuals from a single population in Cheonan. The analyses revealed that all 42 individuals had different multilocus genotypes with heterozygosity ranging from 0.214 to 0.866. Eleven of the 15 loci did not deviate significantly from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. The isolated markers will facilitate population genetic studies of L. delicatula.

분산 시스템 환경에서 어플리케이션 공유는 중요한 역할을 한다. 이는 많은 사용자들에게 공동작업을 가능하게 할 뿐아니라 개인 작업시에도 생산성을 높여 주는 중요한 수단이다. 분산환경에서 어플리케이션을 보다 효율적으로 공유하기 위하여, 네트워크를 기반으로한 분산 제어 기술이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 분산 제어 기술로서 완전 분산 제어 구조를 사용하여 통신상의 트래픽을 줄이고, 사용자에게 어플리케이션의 투명성을 보장한다. 또한, 한번 참조한 경험이 있는 어플리케이션에 대해서 그 정보를 유지함으로서 효율적인 어플리케이션 접근을 보장하고 응답시간을 높인다.
DNA Barcording of Blueberry Gall Midge Dasineura oxycoccana (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae)

The blueberry gall midge, Dasineura oxycoccana (Johnson), was recently invaded into Korea, which causes serious damage to blueberries. In the blueberry production regions, the gall midge affects most blueberry varieties, Vaccinium spp., such as rabbiteye and highbush blueberries, causing substantial yield loss by damaging flower and leaf buds. Last year we investigated and collected the midges in the blueberry farms from Korea and USA (New Jersey and Georgia). To confirm inter- and intra-specifc variations of D. oxycoccana, we tested COI DNA barcode using 180 collective individuals plus 37 GenBank references including other Dasineura species. As results, we found the same haplotype from 126 individuals in Korea, USA, and Canada. Most of the remaining haplotypes were closely related to the former, whereas there were 7 unique haplotypes genetically very distant from the major haplotype. Especially, the two haplotypes in Cheonan, Korea, were genetically farthest from the major, and the existence of two different species in New Jersey and Sunchang were confirmed. We would present haplotype diversity and geographic relationships of D. oxycoccana.

This invasive insect has rapidly spread throughout Korea including Jeju island. So far, we have no epidemic information, such as invasion routes and subsequent dispersal rates in Korea. To understand population genetics of D. oxycoccana, we have developed 12 novel microsatellite loci. To obtain its sequence data, the next generation sequencing was performed using mixed individuals collected from Korea and USA. The developed loci were polymorphic, with 6 to 16 alleles in 35 individuals from a single population of Hwaseong. The analyses revealed that all 35 individuals had different multilocus genotypes with heterozygosity ranging from 0.568 to 0.790. These markers will facilitate population genetic studies of D. oxycoccana.
