        The Single-Cell Revelation of Thermogenic Adipose Tissue

        The past two decades have witnessed an upsurge in the appreciation of adipose tissue (AT) as an immuno-metabolic hub harbouring heterogeneous cell populations that collectively fine-tune systemic metabolic homeostasis. Technological advancements, especially single-cell transcriptomics, have offered an unprecedented opportunity for dissecting the sophisticated cellular networks and compositional dynamics underpinning AT remodelling. The “re-discovery” of functional brown adipose tissue dissipating heat energy in human adults has aroused tremendous interest in exploiting the mechanisms underpinning the engagement of AT thermogenesis for combating human obesity. In this review, we aim to summarise and evaluate the use of single-cell transcriptomics that contribute to a better appreciation of the cellular plasticity and intercellular crosstalk in thermogenic AT.

      • Research on Building Customized Furniture Product Model and Assembly Sequence

        With the improvement of people’s living standard, mass customization production model has been the trend of the furniture industry. A model of furniture product design and assembly for customization is proposed. It can decompose customers’ needs and transform them into homologous modules set in the structure tree. Then through the assembly relationship graph and matrix of these product parts, an assembly sequence which can guide the assembly of products will be built by a genetic algorithm. This process will not only save manpower and resources, but also improve enterprise efficiency. In this article, an instance was given in order to verify the correctness of product design and assembly processes based on product family of mass customization.

      • Two-sided Matching under the Conditions of Strict Order Relations and Threshold Orders

        A matching approach is proposed for solving the two-sided matching problem, where the preferences given by the two-sided agents are in the format of strict order relations and threshold orders. The two-sided matching problem under the conditions of strict order relations and threshold orders is firstly described. The related concepts of the two-sided matching are also introduced. In order to solve the considered two-sided matching problem, the strict order relations are converted into the Borda number matrix, and the threshold orders are transformed into the threshold Borda numbers. According to the Borda number matrix and the threshold Borda numbers of each side, the two Borda number cut matrix can be established, and then the two normalized Borda number cut matrixes can be set up. According to the two normalized Borda number cut matrixes, the synthetical normalized Borda number cut matrix can be established. Based on the synthetical normalized Borda number cut matrix, a matching model considering the two-sided matching constraint conditions can be developed. The matching alternative can be obtained by solving the matching model. Finally, a matching example between positions and staffs is given to illustrate the use of the proposed approach.

        Closed-form Green's functions for transversely isotropic bi-solids with a slipping interface

        Green's functions are obtained in exact closed-forms for the elastic fields in bi-material elastic solids with slipping interface and differing transversely isotropic properties induced by concentrated point and ring force vectors. For the concentrated point force vector, the Green functions are expressed in terms of elementary harmonic functions. For the concentrated ring force vector, the Green functions are expressed in terms of the complete elliptic integral. Numerical results are presented to illustrate the effect of anisotropic bi-material properties on the transmission of normal contact stress and the discontinuity of lateral displacements at the slipping interface. The closed-form Green's functions are systematically presented in matrix forms which can be easily implemented in numerical schemes such as boundary element methods to solve elastic problems in computational mechanics.

      • Two-sided Matching Decision with Two-granularity Uncertain and Incomplete Linguistic Terms

        With respect to the two-sided matching problem, where the agents’ preferences are in the format of two-granularity uncertain and incomplete linguistic terms, a matching method is presented. Some definitions on uncertain linguistic term and 2-tuple are firstly given. The two-sided matching problem with two-granularity uncertain and incomplete linguistic terms is described. Then, uncertain and incomplete linguistic term matrixes are transformed into 2-tuple matrixes. Furthermore, a multi-objective optimization model is developed by using the extended 2-tuple weighted average. By using the 2-tuple arithmetic mean, the normalization method and the linear weighted method, the multi-objective optimization model can be converted into a single-objective optimization model. By solving the optimization model, the matching alternative can be obtained. A matching example illustrates the feasibility and effectiveness of this method.

      • Two-sided Matching Decision under Multi-granularity Uncertain Linguistic Environment

        With respect to the two-sided matching problem, where the agents’ preferences are in the format of multi-granularity uncertain linguistic terms, a matching method is proposed. Some basic concepts and definitions on uncertain linguistic term and 2-tuple are firstly given. Based on this, the two-sided matching problem with multi-granularity uncertain linguistic terms is described. Then, multi-granularity uncertain linguistic term matrixes are transformed into multi-granularity 2-tuple matrixes. Furthermore, a multi-objective optimization model is developed by using the extended 2-tuple weighted average. By using the normalization method and the linear weighted method twice, the multi-objective optimization model can be converted into a single-objective optimization model. By solving the model, the matching alternative can be obtained. Example of matching demand and supply in agricultural knowledge illustrates the feasibility and effectiveness of this method.

        Bamboo Fiber Reinforced Composites (BFRC), is a novel kind of engineering bamboo-based composites developed by Research Institute of Wood Industry, Chinese Academy of Forestry. This material has the advantage of controllable performance, adjustable specifications, designable structures, environmentally friendly and regeneration which makes a perfect substitute for high quality hardwood, which can be utilized in fields of flooring, furniture, interior and outdoor decoration, construction, wind turbines, and other engineering applications. The manufacturing technique of BRFC is widely promoted in many companies of 12 provinces.

      • 국산 참오동나무의 해부 및 미세섬유화 특성

        국내 목재시장은 83% 이상을 수입재에 의존하고 있다. 2050년까지 국산재 점유율 50%를 목표로 하고 있는 우리나라로서는 유용수종 및 속성수의 개발이 중요하다. 특히, 국내산 참오동나무는 다른 수종들에 비해 생장속도가 약 3배 이상 빠른 속성수이며, 비중이 0.30 정도로 매우 작기 때문에 원료의 확보 및 미세섬유화가 우수할 것으로 생각되는 유망 자원이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내에 자생하고 있는 참오동나무의 해부 및 마세섬유화 특성을 평가하기 위해 수간, 가지, 뿌리의 각 부위별로 비교·분석하였다. 그 결과, 수간과 가지재에서는 뚜렷한 생장륜과 함께 고립관공이 관찰되었지만, 뿌리재에서는 비교적 뚜렷하지 않은 생장륜과 함께 고립관공과 방사복합관공이 관찰되었다. 도관의 개수와 직경 그리고 방사조직의 개수, 폭, 높이는 뚜렷한 차이를 보였지만, 섬유 길이는 유사한 값을 보였다. 미세섬유화 과정에서 연속식 분쇄 중 동일 중량을 분쇄하였음에도 가지재 수간 및 뿌리재에 비하여 비교적 빠른 속도로 미세섬유가 제조 되었다. 섬유의 미세화 정도를 간접적으로 평가할 수 있는 여수도 측정결과, 가지재가 다른 두 부위에 비해 여수시간이 길었다. SEM 관찰 결과 세 부위 모두 큰 차이는 보이지 않았으나, 가지재에서 섬유간 재응집 현상이 관찰되는 빈도가 상대적으로 적었다.

      • Two-sided Matching Decision under Uncertain Score Environment

        In order to solve the two-sided matching problem based on uncertain score information, a new method is presented. Firstly, the description of the two-sided matching problem with uncertain scores is given. Secondly, the satisfaction degrees of each agent towards the agents on the other side are calculated. A multi-objective optimization model to maximize the satisfaction degrees of agents is set up. Considering the important degree of each agent in each side, the multi-objective optimization model is transformed into a bi-objective optimization model. Furthermore, the bi-objective optimization model is transformed into a single-objective model by using the linear weighted method. The matching alternative can be determined by solving the single-objective model. Lastly, an example is given to illustrate the validity of the proposed method.

        Anatomical and Physical Characteristics of Korean Paulownia (Paulownia coreana)Branch Wood

        The anatomical and physical properties of tension wood (TW), opposite wood (OW) and lateral wood (LW) in thebranches of Korean paulownia (Paulownia coreana) were compared. The diameter of TW vessels was larger than thatof OW and LW vessels. The most distinctive feature of TW fibers was the presence of a gelatinous layer (G-fiber). The cell wall of TW fibers was nearly three times as thick as that of OW and LW. TW differed from OW and LWin density, X-ray diffraction pattern and shear and compressive strengths. The results obtained in this study showedclear differences in the anatomical and physical properties of TW, OW and LW of Paulownia coreana branch woods.
