The reliability is defined as a probability that a system will perform properly for a specified period of time without any failures, and it is considered as one of the important design attributes. In automotive industry, safety-critical systems such as the electrical power steering (EPS) are considering dynamic redundant systems, which are configured two identical controllers, to ensure the higher functionality, reliability and distributed intelligence which can recover from failures. Two identically configured controllers (one active, one backup) should swap roles within the deadline in the redundancy scheme when a system failure is detected in active controller. A challenge of dynamic redundant systems is to determine a precise role as the active controller to operate a system, error detection of the active controller and how to take over to a backup controller in the defined time. Moreover, a role of each controller has to be independently protected to ensure mutual exclusion under safety requirements. This paper studies dynamic redundant architectures and arbitration control methods that can provide full fault-tolerance without any deviation of functionality even in the presence of faults. The system performance of the dynamic redundant architecture is evaluated experimentally by actual test scenarios to show the practical implication of our architecture.
알러지 유발 단백질이 제거된 수용성 로열젤리의 생리활성 효과

Royal jelly is composed of different components such as proteins, amino acid, fatty acid, and sugars. Protein is a major factor which cause allergy. We focused on water soluble royal jelly (WSRJ) that was removed allergy - inducing protein. WSRJ isolated from 70% ethanol extraction and neutralization. We confirmed that WSRJ was removed allergy - inducing protein, 48kDa and 55kDa band via SDSPAGE. 10-hyroxy-2-decenoic acid (10-HDA) content analyzed by using high performance liquid chromatography. 10-HDA content of WSRJ is 2.42g/100g, which is double compared to that of lypophilized RJ. Also, 1-0.01ug/ml concentration of WSRJ increased significantly human dermal fibroblast (HDF) proliferation for 48hr. The results indicated that WSRJ removed allergy-inducing protein increased 10-HDA content, which lead to HDF proliferation.
Anti-melanogenic effect of Water Soluble Royal Jelly on Melanin Biosynthesis

Royal jelly (RJ) is one of the most attractive functional foods that have been a commercial product, especially in dietetics and cosmetics in many countries. However, RJ has been evoked with dermatitis, acute asthma and anaphylaxis because of major RJ proteins. Therefore, to access water soluble royal jelly (WSRJ) that removed allergy-induced proteins as an effective whitening agent for cosmetics and potential external treatment for topical use, we investigated its ability to inhibit melanin biosynthesis. B16F1 cells were treated with 10 nM α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α -MSH) for 48hr, and then were treated with various doses of WSRJ for 36hr. WSRJ (1-10ug/ml) inhibited direct tyrosinase activity and cellular tyrosinase activity, which lead to the decrease of melanin synthesis in α-MSH stimulated B16F1 melanoma cells. In addition, we examined RT-PCR and Western blotting for melanogenesis-related genes such as tyrosinase, tyrosinase related protein 1 (TRP-1) and 2. WSRJ suppressed mRNA and protein expression of tyrosinase, tyrosinase related protein (TRP)-1 and TRP-2 in α-MSH stimulated B16F1 cells, and similar to positive control, arbutin. Our findings suggest that WSRJ induced the downregulation of melanogenesis by inhibiting tyrosinase, TRP-1 and 2 activations. It may serve as a new candidate in the new skin-whitening agents.

Royal jelly (RJ) is exclusive food that is secreted from the hypopharyngeal and mandibular glands of worker honeybees, and it is well known to be a necessary for the growth of the queen honeybee Although fresh royal jelly have been demonstrated to enhance wound healing, the wound healing effects of water soluble royal jelly (WSRJ) have not been elucidated. We investigated whether WSRJ promotes the migration, attachment, and proliferation of human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) during in vitro wound healing. HDFs were treated with 1-5ug/ml WSRJ and RJ for up to 24hr following wound formation. Cell migration was assessed by measuring recovery from wound margin, while cell attachment and proliferation were determined by MTT assay. By observing the numbers of cell attached, we confirmed that not only WSRJ but also RJ did not affect on the initial cell adhesion. WSRJ (5 ug/ml) enhanced cell migration rate approximately 84.3% in HDFs at 24hr, whereas RJ (5 ug/ml) increased cell migration rate 71.3% in HDFs at 24hr, which is similar to cell migration rate of WSRJ 1 ug/ml (73.7%). In cell proliferation assays, WSRJ induced an increase in the number of HDFs, compared with control and RJ. In conclusion, WSRJ promotes cell migration with increased cell proliferation in an in vitro wound healing model.
Vane-type Static Mixer 최적설계를 위한 기하학적 변수에 따른 혼합유동특성에 관한 수치적 연구

In this work, the mixing flow characteristic of a vane-type static mixer were carried out numerically to reduce the NOx in the SCR-system of the diesel engines. The mixer was located in the 10 times pipe diameter away from the inlet. The analysis were performed by changing angles, blockage ratio and location of the vane. The flow structure through the mixer was characterized by uniformity index, swirl number and pressure drop. The results show that uniformity index, pressure drop and swirl number are influenced by the angle, blockage ratio and position of the vane of the mixer. In particular, swirl number was increased near the pipe wall or by increasing angle or by expending scale of the vane.

In this paper, two types of vertical SIT(Static Induction Transistor) structures are proposed to improve their electrical characteristics including the blocking voltage. Besides, the two dimensional numerical simulations were carried out using ISE-TCAD to verify the validity of the device and examine the electrical characteristics. First, a trench gate region oxide power SIT device is proposed to improve forward blocking characteristics. Second, a trench gate-source region power SIT device is proposed to obtain more higher forward blocking voltage and forward blocking characteristics at the same size. The two proposed devices have superior electrical characteristics when compared to conventional device. In the proposed trench gate oxide power SIT, the forward blocking voltage is considerably improved by using the vertical trench oxide and the forward blocking voltage is 1.5 times better than that of the conventional vertical power SIT. In the proposed trench gate-source oxide power SIT, it has considerable improvement in forward blocking characteristics which shows 1500V forward blocking voltage at -10V of the gate voltage. Consequently, the proposed trench oxide power SIT has the superior stability and electrical characteristics than the conventional power SIT.
Stability of Purified Bee Venom on the Treatment Temperature

For the investigation of the stability of purified bee venom(PBV) during the treatment in the temperature range of 50℃ to 120℃ for 24 hours, respectively, melittin contents, antibacterial effects, and cell regenerations were investigated. The changes in the melittin contents of PBV were not significantly different by treatment temperature below 70℃ for 24 houes and 80℃ for 4 hours. However the melttin contents is great decline after 24 hours above 80℃ for 24 hours. Antibacterial effects is not change below 80℃ for 4 houes but significantly decrease above 80℃ for 24 hours. Cell regenerations of PBV on human dermal fibroblast decreased at 80℃ for 24 houes, showing a significant difference from the below 80℃ for 4 houes. Through the temperature stability of PBV results of this study, it was treated that the melittin contents, antibacterial effects and cell regeneration effects of PBV could be maintained above 80℃ for 4 hours.
