To compare the catches made using gillnets, trammel nets, and gillnets with supporting lines, several experiments were conducted with commercial vessels near Uljin and Pohang in Eastern Korea between July 2010 and May 2011. Two sets of 13 different nets were used, including 5 panels of gillnets and trammel nets each with stretched mesh sizes of 7.6, 9.1, 10.6, 12.1, and 13.6 cm and 3 panels of gillnets with a mesh size of 9.1 cm with supporting lines with different line spacing. The outer (stretched) mesh size of the trammel nets measured 51.5 cm. The target fishes of the fishing nets were various types of flounders. The catch rate of flounders was 50.7% of the total catch in weight. The total catch for all nets was 443.8 kg. The predominant species was pointhead flounder (Cleisthenes pinetorum). The total catch by trammel nets was 1.4 times that of the comparable gillnets. But more pointhead flounder were caught by gillnets than by trammel nets, though there was no significant difference. Fishermen catching the pointhead flounder in Korea said that there was no need to use trammel net to catch it; this was an unexpected finding compared to the findings of other flounder fisheries. The amounts of roughscale sole, brown sole, and blackfin flounder caught by trammel nets were greater than those caught by gillnets. The mean lengths (standard deviation) of blackfin flounder, pointhead flounder, brown sole, and roughscale sole were 21.0 (4.57), 22.9 (3.40), 24.7 (4.90), and 28.3 (5.43) cm, respectively; there were significant differences in mean length (p < 0.00001). Therefore, in order to catch flounder efficiently, the fishing nets and mesh size should be chosen according to the target species. One advantage of using supporting lines is that it prevents breakage by strengthening the material especially when utilized on a rough bottom. Catch by using gillnet with supporting lines was not greater than that by using trammel net for the conservation of fisheries resources.

Objectives: The purpose of our study was to evaluate the association between the intensity of physical activity (PA) and prevalence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) using Korean representative data. Methods: We analyzed 39 804 participant data from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 2007-2013. Exposure variable was three levels of PA (low, medium, and high) in a week, and outcome variable was prevalence of CVD based on patient self-recognition and doctor's diagnosis. Complex logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate the relationship between level of PA and CVD adjusted by body mass index, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, diabetes mellitus, stress recognition, household income, smoking, and current drinking. The indices of association w ere estimated as crude prevalence odds ratio (POR), adjusted POR, and their 95% confidence interval (CI). All statistical analyzes were performed using complex sample analysis procedure of the SPSS version 23.0. Results: When all variables were adjusted, only high level PA in women showed a significant association with stroke (adjusted POR by patient's self-recognition, 0.57; 95% CI, 0.32 to 0.99, adjusted POR by doctor's diagnosis, 0.55; 95% CI, 0.34 to 0.87) and CVD (adjusted POR by doctor's diagnosis, 0.68; 95% CI, 0.48 to 0.96). Conclusions: High level PA in women has a significant reverse association with prevalence of stroke and CVD in Korea. Further study for elucidating the mechanism will be needed.

The plastic products were almost produced by injection molding assembly. That needs the screw or the hook for assembly each parts. However, this study"s products assembly by the hook instead of the screw second assembly. These hooks’ size from 0.1mm to 10㎜ are required. There are made by a highly accurate transform core insert to injection molds, these products are not separated by injection mold, because that transform core’s under-cut"s size to products’s crack or deformation. Products productivity have critical important point that the other two or more products should be assembled by the hook after completion of molding from the injection mold. The dimensions of the hooks should be made very precisely. In this study, we suggested the improvement of optimizing the position of the ejector pin with using Finite Element Analysis about design changes in the undercut and the improvement of ejector pin. Also, we suggested the presented improvement about produced the injection mold using Finite Element Analysis results and result effects were verified.

한약의 세계화를 위해서는 신약 후보물질의 안전성과 유효성을 효과적으로 평가할 수 있는 신약허가제도를 확립하는 것이 선행되어야 한다. 미국 식품의약국(FDA)에서는 미국내 신약의 시판을 허가하기 위하여 해당 신약 후보물질에 대한 안전성과 유효성의 근거가 되는 전임상, 1상, 2상, 3상 임상시험의 자료를 요구한다. 게다가 최근에는 기존의 자료에 안전성을 보장하기 위한 시판 후 약물감시연구 혹은 4상 임상시험 자료를 요구한다. 과거에는 서양에서도 제대로 된 안전성과 유효성을 확인하는 제도가 없었으나, 설파닐아마이드나 탈리도마이드에 의한 약화사건를 겪으면서 지금과 같은 허가제도의 틀을 갖출 수 있었다. 이는 지금의 제도가 갑자기 제정된 것이 아니라 오랜 기간에 걸쳐 안전성과 유효성을 제대로 평가하려는 의지와 노력에 의한 결과임을 알 수 있다. 한국에서는 일부 한약의 경우 법적으로 환자에게 적용하기 전에 신약허가제도를 거치지 않아도 처방과 조제가 가능하다. 한약이지만 한국에서 신약허가제도를 거친 조인스정(위령선, 괄루근, 하고초 30% 에탄올엑스)에 대한 연구들을 분석했을 때, 신약허가제도를 거쳤을 경우에 환자에게 안전성과 유효성에 대한 정보를 효과적으로 제공할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 환자에게 보다 안전하고 효과적인 한약을 제공하고, 한약의 세계화를 위해서는 관련 법을 정비하여 한약의 안전성과 유효성을 효과적으로 평가할 수 있는 시스템의 구축이 반드시 필요하다. In order to globalize the herbal medicines, it is necessary to go through the drug approval process of evaluating safety and efficacy of new drug candidates. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requests evidence on safety and efficacy of new drug candidates based on the data from preclinical experiments, Phase 1 trials, Phase 2 trials, and Phase 3 trials for getting approval for marketing. In addition to the preapproval clinical trials data, in recent years, US FDA also requires a post-marketing study or Phase 4 trials data for guaranteeing safety of the newly marketed drugs. In Korea, legally, traditional herbal medicines were not necessary to go through the formal drug approval process before using them to patients. We analyzed studies of Joins Tab (Clematidis Radix, Trichosanthes Root, Prunella Spike 30% Ethanol Extracts), which extracted traditional herbal medicines have been approved from KFDA based on the preapproval clinical trial data in Korea. The revision of the relevant laws for traditional herbal medicines should be needed to follow the formal new drug approval process for the Western medicines for providing more safe and effective medicines to patients.
A 24-GHz Low-Power RTD-Based ON–OFF Keying Oscillator With an RTD Pair Configuration

<P>In this letter, an ON–OFF keying (OOK) oscillator that uses a resonant tunneling diode (RTD) pair configuration has been designed and fabricated. To achieve improved RF output power characteristics, the RTD pair topology was utilized in the RTD OOK oscillator design to realize an increased negative differential conductance voltage span. The fabricated IC showed high-speed switching capability of 5 Gb/s with a good phase noise characteristic of −118.17 dBc/Hz at a 1-MHz offset. The maximum RF output power was determined to be −1.76 dBm at a carrier frequency of 24.1 GHz. It consumes 12.5 mW of power, resulting in a good figure of merit value of 2.5 pJ/bit. These results demonstrate its potential as a high-performance ON–OFF mode oscillator for high-data-rate OOK transceiver systems.</P>
