        남산의 소나무림, 신갈나무림, 아까시나무림의 낙엽생산과 토양유기탄소 동태

        남산의 소나무림, 신갈나무림 그리고 아까시나무림에서 2008년 1월부터 2009년 12월까지의 월별 낙엽생산량과 토양의 유기탄소량을 조사하였다. 소나무림은 2008년과 2009년 모두 10월에 낙엽생산량이 가장 많았으며, 2008년 1월과 2009년 12월에 낙엽생산량이 가장 적었다. 신갈나무림은 2008년과 2009년 모두 11월에 낙엽생산량이 가장 많았으며, 2월에 낙엽생산량이 가장 적었다. 아까시나무림은 2008년 11월과 2009년 10월에 낙엽생산량이 가장 많았으며, 2008년 1월과 2009년 12월에 낙엽생산량이 가장 적었다. 이것은 한반도 중부에서 상록성의 소나무림이 낙엽성의 참나무숲 보다 더 일찍 낙엽이 진다는 것을 의미한다. 소나무림과 신갈나무림, 아까시나무림의 2년 평균의 낙엽생산량은 7.07, 6.36, 5.02 ton ha-1로 소나무가 가장 많았다. 소나무림과 신갈나무림, 아까시나무림의 2년 평균의 토양유기탄소량은 76.2, 68.6, 72.5 ton C ha-1로 소나무림에서 가장 많았다. 이처럼 소나무숲에서 높게 나타난 것은 남산에서 신갈나무나 아까시나무를 벌목하여 임목밀도가 줄었기 때문이다. The objective of this study was to estimate dynamics of litter production and soil organic carbon of Pinus densiflora forest, Quercus mongolica forest, and Rhobina pseudo-acasia forest at Mt. Nam as a part of Korea National Long-Term Ecological Research (KNLTER) from 2008 to 2009. Litter production of P. densiflora forest was the highest in October 2008, 2009 and the lowest in January 2008 and December 2009. Litter production of Q. mongolica forest was the highest in November and the lowest in February in 2008 and 2009. Litter production of R. pseudo-acacia forest was the highest in November in 2008 and October in 2009 and the lowest in January in 2008 and December in 2009. It means that leaves of P. densiflora forest shed earlier than deciduous oak forests in Korean central region. An average of litter production for 2 years was 7.07, 6.36, 4.66 ton ha-1 in P. densiflora forest, Q. mongolica forest, R. psuedo-acacia forest, respectively. An average of soil organic carbon matter for 2 years was 88.3, 76.5, 84.2 ton ha-1 in P. densiflora forest, Q. mongolica forest, R. psuedo-acacia forest, respectively.

        Single and 4 weeks oral administration of New wonbangwoohwangchungsimwon (NSCH) which was used l-muscone as substitutive material of musk, to beagle dogs of both sexes were performed to investigate both acute and subacute toxicity. Beagle dogs (3 males and 3 females) in acute experiments were administered orally with sinlge dose of 2,000 ㎎/㎏ and groups of 9 male and 9 female beagle dogs in subacute experiments were given daily different dosage of NSCH, 160 ㎎/㎏/day (low dosage group), 400 ㎎/㎏/day (middle dosage group), 1,000 ㎎/㎏/day (high dosage group) once a day for 4 weeks by oral route according to the Established Regulation of Korea Food and Drug Administration (1996. 4. 16). LD_50 value for beagle dogs was more than 2,000 ㎎/㎏ per oral for both male and females. In animals administered with NSCH, there were neither dead animals nor significant changes of body weights. In addition, no differences were found between control and treated groups in clinical sign, urinalysis, eye examination, hematology, serum chemistry, organ weight and other fingings. No histological lesions were observed in both control and treatment groups. Above data strongly suggset that NSCH in beagle dogs is considered to be safe.

      • Cortisone acetate 投與에 依한 Pneumocystis carinii 肺炎의 發症 課程

        This study was undertaken to determine the provocative characteristics of experimental Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia in cortisone acetate treated rats. A Total of 55 male Sprague-Dawley rats, body weights 166-224g, were used. Five out of them were used as control group and remaining 50 were as experimental groups. In experimental groups, the rats were injected with 25mg of cortisone acetate twice a week for 10 weeks subcutaneously and drinking water contained 1000mg tetracycline hydrochloride per liter. Control group was not administered any drug. The 5 rats were sacrified weekly at each week in experimental group. but control group was sacrified at 10 weeks. For arterial blood gas analysis, blood was collected from carotid artery of rats using catheter. The rat's lung were removed after killed. The stamp smeared specimens of lungs were prepared and stained toluldin blue 0 for the quantification of P.carinii cysts. For the histopathologic observations, lungs were fixed in 10% buffered neutral formalin, cut into sections and stained with hematoxylin-eosin stain. For the histologic score of the intensity of P.carinii pneumonia, the sections were stained with Gomori's methenamine silver stain. The results obtained were as follows : 1. In the arterial blood gas analysis of cortisone acetate treated rats, blood pH and PaCO_2 was showed normal range. But PaO_2 was slightly decreased in experimental period. 2. Histopathologic finding of H-E staining sections were found in order of infiltration of lymphocyte and alveolar macrophage, eosinophilic foamy exudate, thickening of alveolar septum, desquamation of pneumocyte and fibrinoid degeneration and so on, but plasma cell was not found. 3. The histologic score of the intensity of P.carinii pneumonia was increased in proportion to the cortisonized periods of rats. 4. The number of cysts in the stamp smeared specimens of lungs were increased in proportion to the cortisonized periods of rats. And highly significant correlation was found between the histologic score of the intensity of P.carinii pneumonia and the number of cysts countered in the stamp smeared specimens of lungs(r=0.8620, ANOVA test p<0.0001). The present study revealed that provocative characteristics of experimental P. carinii pneumonia was highly significant relationship with the histologic score of P. carinii pneumonia and the number of cysts in the stamp smeared specimens of lung.

      • 톡소포자충의 세포질 항원 및 세포막 항원의 면역학적 특성 분석

        The aim of this study was to evaluate the differences in humoral immune response between cytoplasmic soluble antigen and membrane antigen of Toxoplasma gondii. The cytoplasmic soluble and membrane antigens were prepared from T gondii tachyzoites by means of ultrasonication and treatment of Triton X-100. Sera were collected from mice immunized with each antigen at weekly interval for 10 weeks. The serum antibodies were detected by ELISA, and the antidody-binding proteins were analyzed by Western blot. The serum IgM titers were increased in mice immunized with cytoplasmic soluble antigen from 3 weeks, and the titers were peaked between 6 and 8 weeks. However the IgM antibody titers from mice immunized with the membrane antigen were not significantly increased in comparison with negative control group. The serum IgG titers were not revealed significant differences bewteen groups of antigens. Sera from mice immunized with cytoplasmic soluble antigen and membrane antigens reacted with specific bands of T.gondii from 2 and 3 weeks after immunization, respectively. During the course of immunization additional bands appeared consecutively, and antibody-binding antigens were reacted mainly with the molecular weight from 22-kDa to 68-kDa after 5 weeks. In conclusion, there were not distinguished specific humoral immune responses between cytoplasmic soluble antigen and membrane antigen of T.gondii, except serum IgM antibody responses.

        배 농가의 경영효율성 분석 : 비모수적 접근방법에 의한 사례연구 A case study using non-parametric method

        The objective of this study was to compare the farm efficiency of members of cooperative firms with that of non-members in Korea. Data were collected from 27 farms members of three cooperatives and 13 non-member farms, based on the managerial achievements of 1999. For the analysis, the data were divided into three different farming types: type I and Ⅱ of member farms and non-member farms. Economic analysis were implemented using DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis). Major findings was as follows. Total average technology efficiency was 0.782, which implies that there still remains 21.8% of improvement possibility. Among the time types, type I showed the highest technology efficiency of 0.9055, while " 11 and non-member farms showed 0.7670 and 0.7171, respectively. This means that these farms have relatively high potential improved. Also, comparing technology efficiency by dividing into pure technology and scale efficiency, all type of the farms exhibit a higher pure technology efficiency compared to scale efficiency. Therefore, to improve current technology efficiency, farms need to focus more on pure technology efficiency improvement. Meanwhile, profit analysis based on farm size indicate that most of the farms demonstrated the increasing-return-to-scale, which means it is necessary to extend the farm size to improve technical efficiency. Type I member farms achieve higher profit and efficiency than other two types and relatively higher producer prices through introducing cooperative sorting, grading and packing. Also, these labor saving technologies increased farm size.

        Structural and Electrical Properties of (La,Nd,Sr)MnO<sub>3</sub> Ceramics for NTC Thermistor Devices

        (La<sub>0.5</sub>Nd<sub>0.2</sub>Sr<sub>0.3</sub>)MnO<sub>3</sub> specimens were prepared by a solid-state reaction. In all specimens, X-ray diffraction patterns of an orthorhombic structure were shown. The fracture surfaces of (La<sub>0.5</sub>Nd<sub>0.2</sub>Sr<sub>0.3</sub>)MnO<sub>3</sub> specimens showed a transgranular fracture pattern be possibly due to La ions (0.122 nm) as a perovskite A-site dopant substituting for Nd ions (0.115 nm) having a small ionic radius. The full-width at half maximum (FWHM) of the Mn 2p XPS spectra showed a value greater than that [8] of the single valence state, which is believed to be due to the overlapping of Mn<sup>2+</sup>, Mn<sup>3+</sup>, and Mn<sup>4+</sup> ions. The dependence of Mn 2p spectra on the Mn<sup>3+</sup>/Mn<sup>4+</sup> ratio according to sintering time was not observed. Electrical resistivity resulted in the minimum value of 100.7 Ω-cm for the specimen sintered for 9 hours. All specimens show a typical negative temperature coefficient of resistance (NTCR) characteristics. In the 9-hour sintered specimen, TCR, activation energy, and B25/65-value were -1.24%/℃, 0.19 eV, and 2,445 K, respectively.

        A New High Yielding, Good Quality and Wet-Direct Seeding Adaptable Rice Variety, “Dongjin 1”

        Dongjin 1 is a new Japonica rice variety developed from the cross between Hwayeongbyeo, a disease resistantand good quality rice variety and HR12800-AC21, a short-culm and high yielding rice line in 1992 and, thereafter, followedof performance of replicated yield trial and local adaptability test.This variety has 145 days' maturing habit from seeding toharvest, 5 days earlier than Dongjinbyeo, in the west southern plain area of Korea. It has short culm, many panicle numberbrown rice. This variety is moderately resistant to leaf blast and grows more resistant under subsequential seded blast nurs-ery test, also resistant to bacterial leaf blight but susceptible to major virus diseases and insect pests.1 is translucent with non-glutinous endosperm, 19.6% amylose content, 7.7% protein content, and 1.25 Mg/K ratio. Espe-cially, cooked rice of this variety is excellent. The percentages of milling recovery and the perfect milled rice grain of thisvariety are 76.6% and 96.3%, respectively. The yield performance is about 5.54 MT/ha, 6% higher than that of Juanbyeo intransplanting and standard nitrogen level of regional adaptability test during three years from 1999 to 2001. This varietywould be adaptable to wet direct seding in the southern plain area and to transplanting in the southern plain area includingChungcheong province.

      • A new mid-late maturing japonica rice variety Hyeonpum with a good grain quality and eating quality

        ‘Hyeonpum’ is a new japonica rice variety developed by a cross breeding between Iksan469 having a good canopy architecture and Sindongjin and Musashino 7 having a good eating-quality with a view to develop a new variety having high quality of grain and palatability by the rice breeding team of Rice Breeding and Cultivation Research Division, Department of Rice and Winter Cereal Crop, NICS, RDA in 2012. The heading date of this variety is August 18 and later than that of check variety, Nampyeongbyeo, by four days. ‘Hyeonpum’ has 74cm of culm length and 101 spikelets per panicle. This variety showed resistance to bacterial leaf blight and rice stripe virus, but susceptible to leaf blast and planthoppers. The milled rice of this variety exhibits translucent and very clear non-glutinous endosperm. ‘Hyeonpum’ has much better palatability of cooked rice than that of Nampyeongbyeo. The whole grain rate of milled rice and milled rice recovery of ‘Hyeonpum’ are slightly higher than those of Nampyeongbyeo as 91.8% and 75.2% respectively. The yield of ‘Hyeonpum’ is 5.6 MT/ha in milled rice. ‘Hyeonpum’ could be adaptable to the southern part plain area of Pyeongtaek and southwestern costal areas in Korea.

      • A new mid-late maturing rice variety「Subo」with a good grain quality and for direct seeding

        ‘Subo’ is a new japonica rice variety developed by a cross breeding between HR21124-B-59 and HR19567-B-70-3 having a good Phenotype with a multi-resistance and high yield elite line. The new variety developed for direct seeding by the rice breeding team in Rice Breeding and Cultivation Research Division, Department of Rice and Winter Cereal Crop, NICS, RDA in 2012. The heading date of this variety is August 13 and earlier than that of check variety, Nampyeongbyeo, by two days. ‘Subo’ has 72cm of culm length and 104 spikelets per panicle in direct seeding cultivation. This variety showed resistance to bacterial leaf blight and rice stripe virus and have germinating ability in sumerged soil conditions. The milled rice of this variety exhibits translucent and very clear non-glutinous endosperm. ‘Subo’ has much better palatability of cooked rice than that of Nampyeongbyeo. The whole grain rate of milled rice are 86.9% and milled rice recovery of are 74.6%. The yield of ‘Subo’ in direct seeding cultivation is 5.55MT/ha in milled rice. ‘Subo’ could be adaptable to the southern part plain area of Pyeongtaek and southwestern in Korea.
