From the Chinese crude drug shin-i, the flower buds of Magnolia fargesii, four sesquiterpene, oplopanoe (1), oplodiol (2), homalomenol A (3) and $1{\beta},4{\beta},7{\alpha}$-trihydroxyeudesmane (4) were isolated. These structures were elucidated and the ${13}^C-NMR$ chemical shifts of these compounds were revised by means of various 2D-NMR techniques.
중증 재생불량성빈혈에서 타인 혹은 HLA 불일치 혈연간 골수이식을 위한 cyclophosphamide와 antithymocyte globulin전처치 요법

배경: Cyclophosphamide와 ATG의 전처치 요법은 HLA가 일치하는 형제간 골수이식에서는 매우 효과적인 것으로 알려져 있으나, 타인 혹은 HLA 불일치 혈연간 골수이식에서는 전처치 요법으로서 불충분한 것으로 보고되었는데, 주요 문제는 착상 부전이었다. 우리나라를 포함하는 극동아시아 지역의 국가들에서 발표되는 보고에 의하면 타인이식을 포함하여 골수이식 후 착상 부전과 이식편대숙주질환의 발생이 서구 국가들로부터의 보고에서보다 적은 것으로 알려져 있다. 저자 등은 6예의 중증 재생불량성빈혈 환자들에서 질병 초기에 Cyclophosphamide와 ATG만을 이용하여 전처치를 한 후에 타인 혹은 HLA 불일치 혈연간 골수이식을 시행하였다. 방법: 1999년 5월부터 2000년 4월까지 서울중앙병원에서 타인 혹은 HLA 불일치 혈연간 골수이식을 시행 받은 성인 중증 재생불량성빈혈 환자들을 대상으로 하였다. 골수이식을 위한 전처치 요법으로 cyclophosphamide (50 mg/kg/d x 4)와 ATG (30 mg/kg/d x 3)를 투여하였는데, 골수이식 전에 ATG에 대하여 과민 반응을 보였던 한 예 (UPN 120)에서는 ATG 대신에 fludarabine (30 mg/m2/d x 3)을 투여하였다. 이식편대숙주질환의 예방을 위하여 cyclosporine과 methotrexate를 투여하였다. 결과: 연구 기간 중에 모두 6예가 타인 혹은 HLA 불일치 혈연간 골수이식을 시행 받았는데, 5예는 타인으로부터 골수를 공여 받았으며, 1예는 HLA의 표현형이 하나의 유전자좌에서 일치하지 않는 형제로부터 골수를 공여 받았다. 타인 골수이식을 받은 5예 중에서 3예의 공여자는 HLA의 표현형이 일치하였으며, 1예는 하나의 유전자좌가 major mismatch였고, 1예는 하나의 유전자좌가 minor mismatch였다. 추적기간의 중앙값은 406일 (범위, 328-643일)인데, 6예 모두에서 착상된 상태를 유지하면서 생존해있다. 2예에서 3도의 급성 이식편대숙주질환과 전신성 만성 이식편대숙주질환이 발생하였다. 결론: Cyclophosphamide와 ATG의 전처치 요법은 재생불량성빈혈의 초기에 타인 혹은 HLA 불일치 혈연간 골수이식을 시행 받은 한국인 환자들에서 충분히 착상을 가져올 수 있는 요법으로 생각된다. 비록 본 연구의 대상 환자 수가 적지만 결과는 매우 고무적이다. HLA가 일치하는 형제가 없는 중증 재생불량성빈혈 환자의 경우에 타인 골수 공여자에 대한 검색을 조기에 시행해야 하며, 타인 혹은 HLA 불일치 혈연간 골수이식을 질병 초기에 적극적으로 고려해야 할 것으로 생각된다. Background: Cyclophosphamide (CY) and ATG regimen was reported to be insufficient for alternative donor BMT in SAA patients due to high incidence of graft rejection. The rates of graft rejection and GVHD after allogeneic BMT including unrelated donor transplants seemed to be lower in reports from Asian countries of Far East. We applied CY/ATG regimen to six patients with early stage of SAA transplanted with marrow from alternative donors other than HLA-identical siblings. Methods: Three patients were transplanted from HLA-phenotypically identical unrelated donors, two from one-locus mismatched unrelated donors, and one from an one-locus mismatched sibling donor. Four patients received no previous therapy for SAA, and two received one course of immunosuppressive therapy with ATG. Preparative regimen was CY (200 mg/kg) plus ATG (90 mg/kg) in all patients except one who had had an anaphylactic reaction to ATG prior to BMT and received fludarabine (90 mg/m2) in place of ATG. Cyclosporine plus methotrexate were given for GVHD prophylaxis. Results: All six patients engrafted and all are alive with durable engraftment at a median follow-up of 406 days (range, 328 to 643). Two patients developed grade III acute GVHD and extensive chronic GVHD. Conclusions: CY/ATG regimen may be sufficient in Korean patients with early stage of SAA transplanted with marrow from alternative donors. Although the number of patients in present study is small, results are encouraging. Stem cell transplantation using alternative donors may be considered at early stage of aplastic anemia.
Systematic Review of Heavy Metal Concentrations in Fish and Shellfish in Korea

Objectives: Heavy metals ingested through the consumption of aquatic products can accumulate in the human body over the long-term and cause various health problems. This study aims to present comprehensive data on the amount of heavy metals found in fish and shellfish in Korea using a systematic review of studies that report on that issue. Methods: The study used the following databases: PubMed, Korean Studies Information Service System, and Research Information Sharing Service. The search terms for PubMed included fish OR shellfish OR seafood AND mercury OR cadmium OR lead OR heavy metal AND Korea. The search terms for Korean Studies Information Service System and Research Information Sharing Service included eoryu sueun, eoryu kadeumyum, eoryu nab, eoryu jung-geumsog, paeryu sueun, paeryu kadeumyum, paeryu nab, paeryu jung-geumsog, eopaeryu sueun, eopaeryu kadeumyum, eopaeryu nab, and eopaeryu jung-geumsog. Results: A total of 32 articles were selected for review. The total mercury, lead, and cadmium concentrations in fish and shellfish reported in each of the articles are summarized, as are the species of fish and shellfish with relatively high concentrations of heavy metals. Total mercury concentrations tended to be higher in predatory fish species, such as sharks, billfishes, and tuna, while lead and cadmium concentrations tended to be higher in shellfish. Conclusion: This paper is the first to report a comprehensive summary of the concentrations of heavy metals in fish and shellfish. This data could be used as evidence to protect Koreans from exposure to heavy metals due to the consumption of highly polluted aquatic products.

Background : Pneumocytitis cainii pneumonia (PCP) can occur in immunocompromised hosts especially such as AIDS or cancer patients. Although recent research had focused on PCP in AIDS patients, few studies have described the clinical presentations of PCP in recipients of stem cell transplantation (SCT). We evaluated the clinical manifestations of PCP in SCT patients admitted at St. Mary's hospital, Seoul, Korea. Methods : The medical records of 17 PCP patients undergoing SCT between Feb. 1998 and Feb. 2000 were reviewed. The diagnosis of PCP was confirmed through the demonstration of Pneumocytitis cainii via either cytology of brochoalveolar lavage (BAL) or histological technique of lung biopsy. CMV disease and CMV infection were confirmed by BAL culture and antigenemia respectively . Results : Seventeen patients were all recipients of allogeneic SCT and 7 of 17 patients were performed non-sibling SCT. Patients presented with symptoms including brief period (4 ∼23 days) of fever (76%), dyspnea (70%), cough (64%), and signs such as rare(58.8%), Sixteen patients (94%) had been receiving immunosuppressive agent such as cyclosporine A (64%) or Fk506 (35%) without PCP prophylaxis. Eleven patients (64%) were treated with corticosteroid with mean dose of 16 mg/day prednisolone and mean duration of 4.6 months after post-SCT period. Twelve patients were co-infected with CMV. Another co-infected miCroorganisms were Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, herpes simplex virus, parainfluenza virus, Average duration of treatment with trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP/SMX) was 21 ±9 days. Four patients died, and three of them were related with PCP. Conclusion : PCP developed frequently in patients who were taking immunosuppressive drug due to graft versus host disease or were not taking TMP/SMX prophylaxis. High risk patients showing fever, cough, or dyspnea should be considered to take early bronchoscopic intervention for detection of PCP. When treat for PCP, it also be considered to the possibility of coinfection such as CMV. (Korean J Infect Dis 33:273∼279, 2001)

This paper studied the art character and the choreographic inclination of choreographers be led by Serge Diaghilev who newly made the whole artistic forms of the Ballets Russes(1909-1929). Therefore, his achievement was acknowledged as the thoughtful and aesthetic base and was much affect on the representation field of modern ballet. Michel Fokin, the choreographer of the Ballets Russes, had a plenty of knowledge on music and folk dances, and made an integration of both a fine art designer and an artistic work With a strong will about the new innovation, he represented a dramatic dance and brought a male dancer into relief in his works. Also, he emphasized that the style of ballet is fitted for the subject, the step always has to be new, and the dance has to be represented by the whole body. It was an inclination of his works that he tried on the condensed ballet into one act, showed to be unified completely both the subject and the emotional representation, and particularly, the stage fine art and the costume by Leon Bakst in <Scheherazade> were regarded to an epoch making stage for Fokin. Vaslav Nijinsky, as well a born dancer as the choreographer, sought after the new representation of modern ballet through his four works at period of the Ballets Russes. In <L'Apres-midi d'un faune> and <La Sacre du printemps>, he showed remarkably the primitive inclination with the Stravinsky's music. Also, he emphasized the primitive character by the individual choreography which made a trial of the new experimental motions both using a straight line and an acute angle and getting out of the tradition. Leonid Massine, the choreographer, who was excellent and choreographed the ballet on the basis of characteristic dances and folk dances, he represented the rhythmical melody which put emphasis on the importance of both music and dance, emphasized the dramatic representation which took much more of the interchange between dancers and spectators. In <Parade>, he tried the typical modernism and made a new motion vocabularies by using of both the music and the various acoustic effects which were mixed with the fine art of the Picasso's geometrical cubism style and the theories of dances. And he had an originative choreographic inclination. Therefore, he was able to make not only a symphonic ballet but also a story ballet to the comic satires. Bronislava Nijinska, the choreographer composed an actual choreograph with the characteristic motions of animals which represented the fabled contents on the basis of <Le Renard>. Also, in <Le Train Blue>, she tried to compose the classical ballet with the dynamic and acrobatic motions which was related to the sport games, and she showed the choreographic inclination of new modern senses. The <Les Noces>, which used the constructive composition with her excellent musical talent, was represented through the rhythmical character of Stravinsky and rhythmic movements. The various representations of folk, comedy, fable, and etc. were included in her works. So, she expanded the representative extent of arts. George Balancine, as the last choreographer of the Ballets Russes, accepted the thought of Diaghilev and made his own art character with the artistic aesthetics. In <Apollon Musagete>, he represented the excellence of the tradition on the logical techniques as the purity and the classical balance, created newly the elegant and angled motions with the combination of between music and choreograph. The inclination of works of the Ballets Russes showed the modern characters with the subject, the form, and the pursuit of new as an imagination which were totally included the realism, the primitivism, the expressionism, the new classicism, and so on. And Diaghilev as an art planner, five choreographers, and the famous artists at that time created together the new values which were developed the change of needs and responses in those days. Therefore, their works became wide spread around the world by a lots of choreographers and dancers who acted In the Ballets Russes. Finally, the Ballets Russes made a great contribution periodically and culturally to the history of modern Ballet.
최적화에 의한 Ketoconazole Solid Dispersion System 의 약물 속도론적 연구

Ketoconazole was manufactured as solid dispersion system(SDS)by computer optimization technique and pharmacokientic properties were investigated in vivo by animal study using rabbits. Following results, doses (25,50 and 100mg/kg)and AUC?? had both a good relationship between them administered by SDS as well as ketoconazole only. AUC?? obtained by administration of ketoconazole only, physical mixture and SDS was occurred SDS>physical mixture>ketoconazole only in turn and plasma comcentration was increased about 2.3 fold by SDS administration than ketoconazole only. The results obtained by in vivo absorption test of SDS that made maximum dissolution in the artificial intestinal juice revealed a good relationship between in vitro and in vivo test.

Soil fertility is fundamental in determining the productivity of all farming systems and is most�ᅠ�ᅠ commonly defined in terms of the ability of the soil to supply nutrients to crops. Organic farming systems rely on the management of soil organic matter to enhance the chemical, biological and physical properties of the soil, in order to optimize crop production. Organic agriculture excludes the use of chemical nitrogen fertilizers, instead requiring a balance between supply and demand nutrients through the use of organic matter. Nutrient management is one of the main challenges facing organic farming. The short term challenge is supplying sufficient nutrients to crops at the correct point in their development to achieve economically viable yield, while in the long term, the difficulty is to balance nutrient inputs and runoffs to avoid nutrient rundown or environmental pollution. This paper reviews information from the literature to investigate strategies of managing nutrients by supplying organic matter in organic agriculture during the major phases of crop growth.

For many years digital protective methods have employed for the calculation of transient phenomena on power system networks caused by faults. This paper presents a travelling wave digital protection scheme to be used as an ultra high speed EHV/UHV transmission line relay. A detection of fault is made by a highly reliable relaying algorithm which makes use of the modal components of the voltage and currents which are caused to be superimposed on the steady state prefault power frequency components following the fault inception. Some of the potential problems and limitations associated with fault angles are achieved using correction factor. Varification of the algoithm is presented through digital computer numerical simulation using electromagnetic transients program(EMTP).

Remote field eddy current testing signals have unique signal characteristics such as the equal sensitivity to ID and OD defects and the linear relationship between defect depth and phase signal strength. In this paper, those and new signal characteristics are studied by carefully prepared experiments with gas pipes. Many kinds of defects are designed and fabricated, such as ID and OD defects, axial and circumferential defects, and multiple defects on the same circumference. Multiple defects on the indirect paths and very long defects reveal the linear relationship between defect depth and phase signal strength. Equal sensitivity to ID and OD defects is also demonstrated. It is found that the phase signal is more sensitive to axial defects and the phase signals from circumferential defects tend to underestimate the total defect length.
