Near-Complete Radiation of Plasmonic Mode From Nano-Slit to Free Space

<P>We propose here an optical antenna structure that can efficiently out-couple metal-insulator-metal plasmonic mode to free space. For high emission efficiency, we focus on suppressing backward reflection and leakage to nonradiating surface mode. To block nonradiating surface mode, we design a trench structure at the exit plane of the nanoslit. By properly balancing the reflectance at the nanoslit exit and additional reflectance due to the returning surface mode, near-zero reflection characteristics are obtained by destructive interference. The design rules for parameter optimization are derived by using the scattering coefficients of the nanoslit and the trench. The proposed scheme can be used to determine the conditions for near-complete transmission through subwavelength slits.</P>
A case of vitiligo in a chronic myeloid leukemia patient during chemotherapy with dasatinib

Dasatinib is a divond-generation multi-target tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) that has activity against a variety of imatinib-resistant BCR-ABL mutant forms, c-Kit tyrosine kinases, and Src. While skin hypopigmentation is a well-recognized adverse effect of first generation TKIs, it has been rarely reported in the usage of dasatinib so far. In our study, we report a rare case of dasatinib-induced vitiligo. A 41-year-old male with a history of chronic myeloid leukemia started his therapy with dasatinib as a part of his treatment. After 2 months of treatment, he developed skin hypopigmentation on his left shoulder and arm. Skin biopsy showed the histopathologic diagnosis with HMB45 and Melan-A staining, which is confirmed as vitiligo. The patient with dasatinib-induced vitiligo continued the treatment while his skin hypopigmentation persisted and even exacerbated. In this study, we report a rare case of vitiligo induced by dasatinib.
IMPROVEMENT OF NOX REDUCTION RATE OF UREA SCR SYSTEM APPLIED FOR AN NON-ROAD DIESEL ENGINE

Urea SCR technology has been widely used to reduce NOx emissions of diesel engines. Despite remarkable development for decades, more advanced control and optimization of urea SCR systems are still required as global NOx emissions standards are expected to become more stringent. This study investigated several influential parameters of urea SCR system to improve NOx reduction efficiency. This study uses a commercialized UWS (Urea Water Solution) supply system and a SCR catalyst which was installed in the exhaust line of a non-road CRDI (Common Rail Direct Injection) diesel engine. From this study, it was found that the low space velocity of SCR catalyst is essential for high NOx reduction efficiency, especially at low temperatures. Early injection of UWS enhances the overall NOx reduction efficiency if UWS injection was carefully controlled to avoid urea deposits. Rich injection of UWS with AOC is a good strategy for high NOx reduction efficiency. However, NOx reproduction in the AOC, which has an adverse effect on the overall NOx reduction rate, occurs at high exhaust gas temperatures. System insulation also can improve the NOx reduction efficiency by a few percentage points.
